The drafting of Johnny Manziel set the Browns back, way back.

Haslam/Farmer took a promising season (6-3 after a primetime win in Cincy) to 7-9 by force-feeding Manziel.

That led to Pettine being fired, Shanahan leaving, Hue Jackson being hired.....ugh, my head hurts.

The Haslam ownership has been the biggest factor in the Browns not winning

Lamar is a great QB, if you’ve seen him play this year. He’s made incredible throws, the athlete/RB narrative was solidly proven false.

However, today he sucks ass - and that’s a good thing.

He is NOT a great Qb. To be that, you need to read defenses, throw from the pocket, move guys with your eyes, not just run around making plays with your legs. And of course WIN BIG PLAYOFF GAMES.

Watching him, he looks lost a lot when he drops back. Like he doesn’t see everything. He is GREAT at alluding the rush and making plays out of nothing. But keeping him in the pocket and making him be a QB is way easier to beat him then letting him run around

This game is a perfect example of how much of a craps shoot the NFL Draft really is.

Mahomes was the 10th player selected overall in 2017. Miles Garrett was #1, Christian McCaffrey #2, DeShaun Watson #12.

Baker was the #1 pick in 2018. Lamar Jackson #32.

Am I lamenting the Browns not picking Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson? No. I'm thankful for the guys that have helped the Browns become a playoff team two of the last four seasons.

But the trajectory of the franchise the last half decade would be different if that little instinct the Player/Personnel and Scouting Department saw or felt about certain players was better.

It’s a combo of many things. But Mahomes going to Andy Reid was a Great fit. As for Lamar, he’s a great athlete playing Qb. He is not a great QB.

You missed the part where we beat MSU, PSU, Maryland, OSU, Iowa, Alabama, and Washington after the "cheating" stopped. Try to follow along.

(And we could get into the known sign stealing by others, including OSU, or OSU sharing signs with other opponents of Michigan, etc. We could dive into Little Ryan's desperate attempts to stop Harbaugh. But no bother doing it again. And if the catapult rumors or true? Oh damn. )

So now you are admitting the “cheating” happened. That’s the first step

Maybe to you but I think you're just being combative. And if I'm not mistaken David koresh and all of his followers, or most of them, weren't a threat to anybody and were burned to death by Bill Clinton's hit woman Janet Reno. If you were searching for a bad cult it seems like Jonestown and Guyana or that Applegate guy the thought the spaceship was coming to pick them up. And again since you've decided to carry the woodpecker's water how does that not apply to any of the people that I put on the list in the previous post?

And if it does then what's the point of using it as a slur?

    WSS

The point of using it a slur, is because it has a negative connotation to most people. . Even if that’s not the actual meaning of the word

As for woody, I am nowhere near him in my political ideas. He’s laughable in most of his rantings. Just as most others on here. Being so 1 sided is ignorant IMO

And, yes, the other people you listed had a “cult” following. But to claim the Trump supporters are NOT a cult, is wrong, according to the definition of the word. And what most people associate CULT to mean.

  6. And, yes, the actual word “CULT” isn’t negative or positive, in its true meaning, but it is usually associated with something negative

As in the David Koresh, Branch Davidians cult. That is what people associate the word with, mostly

So looking at this political landscape, as I am not a follow of either party, the Trump followers look a lot more cult like then the Biden followers IMO

Since the other thread kind of got off track I thought I'd start one because apparently some people are unaware of what a cult is I just enjoy screaming the word at Donald Trump and his supporters. Here are two definitions one supplied by the opposition. Neither of which accurately describe people who support Donald trump. At least no more than the term describes thousands of public figures. Which makes the accusation meaningless.

And that means that the people here either didn't know what the definition was or purposely using it incorrectly.

I would also add that the word cult carries neither a positive nor negative meaning. It just is.

Why didn’t you post the ENTIRE definition?

a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.
"a cult of personality surrounding the leaders"

And they don't. That definition was vague to the point of meaninglessness but thanks. And if you disagree point out the differences.

    WSS

Here’s the difference, the Trump cult stormed the capital. The Biden cult did what EVERY OTHER transfer of power did. Graciously

If Biden loses in November, will the Biden supporters storm the capital next January?  I’m guessing NO

Your point? I know how you love to play the devil's advocate, and that's cool, but tell me how that wouldn't apply to Joe Flacco or Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton or Baker Mayfield or Mother Teresa or L Ron Hubbard or Elon Musk or Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga oreven Joe Biden if you read any of cccps crap?

Not to mention Jesus Moses and Muhammad?

    WSS

The point was, you said people here didn’t know what a cult was.

  10. 1 hour ago, Westside Steve said:

I would argue that the stupidest cult (despite the fact that you fuckheads don't even know what a cult is you just like saying it) is yours cccp woodpecker and the board drunk. The Cult that supports anything as long as whoever is in charge of it, no matter how corrupt, expresses hatred for Donald Trump.

    WSS

The word cult is defined as a system or group of people who practice excessive devotion to a figure, object, or belief system, typically following a charismatic leader.

Haley is a natural-born U.S. citizen who is eligible to serve as president. The former ambassador to the United Nations was born on Jan. 20, 1972, in Bamberg, South Carolina, according to information on her official website when she was governor of the state.

Exactly correct. Same with the current VP. It doesn’t matter that her parents were not citizens. The people that bring this up are delusional in that thinking

Plus, If someone is NOT eligible to hold either of those offices THEY WOULDN’T BE ALLOWED ON THE BALLOT.

Excellent point, so we're officially at the threshold in the NFL, because it has already happened in the MLB and the NBA, where it's difficult to compare eras.

So today's QB's won't necessarily get in on QB play, being athletic dual(ish) threats. A 17 game season, faster paced offenses, more favorable rules/officiating and so on.

Mahomes is a future HOFer because he's a generational player.

    What about

    Allen?

    Burrow?

    Hurts?

    Herbert?

    Lamar?

    Lawrence?

    Tua?

    Russell Wilson?

The rest are too young or don't have stats and/or playoff runs.

If all of these guys do get in, then this era would surpass the 90's with the most HOF QBs.

Of these, Wilson might get in, but the rest need to win  a SB. And the last we saw of Tua, he’s never getting in
