After one half of football, the Browns look almost the same as last year. Swartz still cannot play; we are still making dumb mistakes and turning the ball over.

I want to see some real fire on defense tonight. We will play backups, but I want to see some tough defense. I am also interested in seeing how our QBs play. I remember Kellen Mond playing well last year in the preseason, and I never got to watch our rookie QB when he was in college.

Yes, that is the only thing Swartz is good for. You have to hand him the ball because he cannot catch it. Lol. He might have been inactive yesterday. I didn't notice him on the field. But Cooper would have been better than Njoku.

Brissett played well until the 2nd half. Unfortunately he is exactly what you said, a career backup, but I cannot put all the blame on him. Through 4 games he has done enough to be 4-0. If the defense plays better and Stefanski calls better plays that would be exactly what would have happened. I am of the belief that the coaching is our biggest problem right now. One perfect example was Atalnta running all over us in the 2nd half which 4 RB's. Stefanski has never stopped and thought hey I have a fresh and healthy Ford and Johnson that I could really wear them down with too. SMH.

I am absolutely on board with this take. I am taking the Browns to beat the opening game curse and win the game. To do so we will need to stop the run bette rthan we did in the preseason. I think our defense carries us. We haven't seen all of our defensive stars on the field since last season. The idea of Emerson and Ward on the field at the same time with the rest of that secondary is going to be a lot of fun to watch this year. I am also banking on Brissett not being as bad as everybody seems to think he is. I watched him play quite a bit when he was starting for Indy and I thought he did fairly well with a bad o-line. I expect him to play fairly well for us. But if he doesn't Stefanski better not leave him in like he did with Baker last year. If we can go 7-4 over the first 11 we have a really good playoff shot. I think it is unlikely that we do. But I am believing the opposite will happen this year in the first game and many others. Our good drafting of the last few years will pay dividends (well maybe not Swartz).

LOL! Spot on. Michael Jackson was exactly that. He would catch the balls that you didn't expect him to and drop the easiest passes. I swear somehow Braylon Edwards was related to him.

Rosen played against the 3rd team defenses in his games. And Brissett only played just over one quarter and without Jerome Ford who played so well in the other games. Dobbs played against first and second team guys and easily played the best. Rosen is exactly where he should be (on the practice squad).

We owe a lot to Dorsey. A big part of the reason for our turn around. I like our front office now, just don't care for ownership.

I actually have to disagree here. Teams give up on draft picks, and they should. Good teams do it all the time. You are thinking about the Browns of 5-15 years ago when the coaches and or front office was always turning over, so maybe then we gave up in some players to early because they were not the new regimes "guys". But with our front office stable we should get rid of people quickly if they are not worthy. We have much better talent and depth now. Does it make sense that Mike Harley is on the practice squad for example and Swartz is on the active roster. One played well during the preseason the other looked terrible. So who else with talent is not even on the team because we kept a guy who can't catch the ball? Are you old even to remember Braylon Edwards well? Receivers who don't catch the ball need to go! Really catching the ball is most of their job. They can run a good route, use speed etc but if they don't catch the ball than it doesn't matter what else they do. Bill Belicheck wouldn't keep him around with him dropping balls like that.

Glad to have you back. If we can change the date to Monday we will. But I was trying to give us enough time to get the league filled up again. It is tough to track people down.

Since Flyin J is MIA we have 1 spot for sure so jump in! If we don't have everyone back by Sunday would you drop an email to your old V group with the link to the new group I created. Maybe a couple of people might still be looking for a team. I want everybody back from all the previous years (or as close as we can get) but we also need to respect other people who want to play and don't want to be hung out to dry.

Because this group drafted him and if they give up on him this quickly it makes them look bad. I guess it is better to you know play a hurt QB rather than a healthy one...... SMH. You cannot teach a guy how to catch a ball at his age. You either have the hands or you don't.
