TheClevelandSound Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 In a recent statement, Holmgren said the following: "I gave a warning to Jake Delhomme. If he wants to go visit New Orleans that is fine. His choices are better to start in Cleveland. But if he is going to take the time to visit other places, we are not going to sit on our hands and wait. We will be exploring other options at QB." Not once in my lifetime has anyone in the Browns organization been this strong. I love it.
medicineman Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Im really happy. I just hope Im not getting all pumped up for another disaster season.

Actually, I seem to recall that Carmen Policy said something similar to Brian Billick when he went off to interview for the Ravens HC job after he had been courted so heavily by Policy for the Browns job.

I wouldn't consider that instance a sign of being "strong".
DawgTracker Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 I think that Delhomme and Wallace will fight for the job in training camp when a winner/loser will be announced.d I think the browns will draft a QB to groom. I expect that Holmgren has a short list of draftable QBs and I wouldn't be surprised with Tebow or McCoy
eggo31 Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 I say if you are going to draft a qb out of the first round forget tebow or quinn I go for pike... I think he is a legit qb but I would poerfer bradford and clausen second choice
Unsympathetic Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 Pike will not be drafted until round 5, if at all. He simply does not have the arm strength for the NFL. Pike in round 1 would be worse than trading up to get Quinn. Haden or Berry should be the entire draft board for our first round. Haden has 4.4x time.. he was simply in a horrible stance at the start.

Not once in my lifetime has anyone in the Browns organization been this strong. I love it. Don't be so easy with the Holmgren coolaid. When we become a better team, we can all drink together. For now, he's just a guy that got to chase his dream job and showing the arrogance. Whether he can do it or not proves to be seen. I'll be very happy when he 'walks the walk' as opposed to 'talking the talk' for now. As a long term Browns fan, I've had more than my share of smoke blowing. Jake doesn't strike me as a such a 'deal'. The Watson, Wallace and DA moves look pretty good though.
CLEVELandMILIDH Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 Pike will not be drafted until round 5, if at all. He simply does not have the arm strength for the NFL. Watch this video, at 3:45 he throws it close to 50yds across his body running to his left. And he's a big guy with plenty of room to fill out and get stronger, I say he's gone bye the 3rd. His size and suprising athletic abilitly, would be hard to pass up on if he's still there when we pick

(now I don't fee so foolish for having him in my dumb Browns mock draft in the 3rd round ! GGG)

The more I look at the video of this guy the better I think he'll be. A bit thin, but that is the easy part.
sisky fringo Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 i never thought i'd make the transition from Savage/Rac to today so easily. do it all now while i'm still numb Mike.
