Browns center cries foul

BEREA, Ohio (AP)—Browns center Alex Mack(notes) accused Kansas City defensive lineman Shaun Smith of grabbing his private parts during Sunday’s game.

Mack said Smith, who played two seasons for the Browns before he was released last year, committed the dirty play in the second quarter.

“I don’t think he should be able to do that,” Mack said Monday. “I’m still fired up about it.”

Mack was so enraged by what Smith did during a running play that he started to chase him toward Kansas City’s sideline before turning around because Cleveland’s punt team was coming onto the field. Mack gestured to the officials and pointed at Smith, who denied any wrongdoing.

“I don’t have no comment,” Smith said. “I don’t recall doing anything like that. I’m not known for being a dirty player or anything like that, so I don’t know what that was all about.”

The next time Cleveland had the ball, Mack committed an unnecessary roughness penalty when he hit linebacker Derrick Johnson after the whistle. The penalty proved costly because the Browns were backed up 15 yards and kicker Phil Dawson(notes) missed a 42-yard field goal just before halftime of Cleveland’s 16-14 loss.

Mack was running downfield to block for teammate Jerome Harrison(notes) when he plowed into Johnson.

“I’m trying to rush there and get a block and do things, be fired up, play the game with passion and a little too much passion,” Mack said. “It hurt my team and I feel bad for it. But I’m trying to play the game fast. It’s my job to be protecting my running back, and that’s what we’re trying to do.”

I'm sure he went for his balls, Homotron, much more painful. I think you were thinking of what you would do.

Zombo

Wow Zombo, yet another quality dig. I didn't realize NFL players had x-ray vision in the bottom of a pile up. Oops that wasn't his balls. Grabs again, yep there we go. I'm sure that happens all the time. Pretty sure they just grab. I never played on the o-line or d-line. I was a WR/TE/LB but had friends on the bottom of those piles plenty in both high school and college. They grab anything and everything to get the guy to let go of the ball by grabbing another ball or whatever they can get their hands on.

Based on his stellar use of the english language, he probably thought he felt a hotdog and buns. Should of said.. "I is hungary and thoud I had me a snack."

Smith is a loser, & a stupid one at that. I also picked up on the "I don't have no comment." remark. Great post! LOL

Steelers players balls are too small to grab from all the roids. GTFO Homotron.

I know it's all a part of the process. You have to prepare yourself in some way for the stomping you're going to receive in week 6. You might as well get the greatest hits rolling for insults. Drudging up the roid talk is a good start. I'd try and do the same thing if I knew we were going to be 0-6 to start the season.

Deflect from what? I don't care if Shaun Smith hires a spider monkey to hang from Alex Mack's nuts all game. I'm just saying it happens. Mack just decided to whine about it.
