shepwrite
I'm bitching about the bone headed throws.. When you have a runner like hillis, you shouldn't be making the plays he does. The guy is a liabilty... Just because we are re building doesn't mean I shoudnt root for the best player to play... I agree. When I'm a fan that just "sits back and enjoys," I'll be an old woman, I guess. We hang out on an Internet board because we enjoy digging a little deeper than that. Anybody here think we'd be worse off if we'd paid a WR Delhomme's 7 mill? A lot of guys moved around and not just the big names. We should've signed a WR and we should've drafted Shipley, Sanders, or Price. It's possible we wouldn't even be talking about drafting a WR in the first round next year... and we sure as hell wouldn't miss Delhomme. Every decision matters and has a domino effect. Maybe with Boldin, Shipley, and Massoquoi, we can finish games better and turned three close defeats into close victories... and we're 7-4 right now. But moving forward, I think we'd have to be seriously brain damaged not to jump on whicher is there, Green or Jones. I like Michael Floyd a lot , too. He's got some Boldin in him, in fact. USFBrown
Some bad news.. Rumor has gruden going to the hurricanes... Bad news? That's good news, no way in hell I want another head coach next season. No way in hell I want that guy. It makes sense, he likes Florida.
hoorta
The two offseason decisions that absolutely blew my mind were not upgrading the WRs... and signing Jake Delhomme not as a veteran backup, but as a starter for $7 mill. It just seemed like a prank or something, an April Fool's Day joke. Hey! The Browns just gave Jake Freaking Delhomme 7 mill and named him the starter! He's been an interception machine his entire career. It's been about five years since he was any good at all... and he's been arguably the worst QB in all of football since the playoffs of 2008. In roughly 8 quarters, he has 1 TD and 6 INTs this season, showing that yes, he really is as bad as he looked last season. Man, I really hope McCoy is ready to go next week. And if he isn't, it has to be Wallace. Delhomme needs to be a mentor and confidante only. Meanwhile, Hillis just might join Hodges on the Pro Bowl team. Not so bad IMHO bringing in Jake to be the starter- but paying him $7 million to throw interceptions was Retarded. I doubt anyone else was going to pay him anywhere close to that. It's painfully obvious McCoy makes better decisions than Delhomme already. Agreed, Wallace should start if Colt isn't ready next week. Jake can be the qb mentor, and at best pay him vet minimum to be the #3 qb next year.
shepwrite
Not sure I understood most of that, G. There are casual fans and there are deep dish fans of, well... just about anything. Nirvana, the Beatles, Scorcese, Whit Stillman, Fellini, Picasso, Matisse, the NFL draft, the Kennedy Assassination, Chaplin, F. Scott, vampires, the NBA draft, basketball, hockey, soccer, baseball, football... and any specific team, including the Browns. By suggesting that "digging in" is Retarded you're basically damning all fandom of everything ever. Which, ironically, is absurdly Retarded. Westside Steve
To be fair, they needed to do SOMETHING. They took a chance. It hasn't worked out as planned. They didn't sign him to be anything more than "better than Quinn and Anderson". But he isn't. He hasn't done anything to make ne hate him. He's just not any good and never really was. Does anyone look back at the success of the Panthers and think he carried that team? WSS

Overpaying may have been a dumb move on the organization's part, but I doubt it has any ramifications for us as fans. Did paying him a couple million too much affect our spending elsewhere? As you may recall, the Browns were criticized for overspending on a couple free agents (Fujita, Watson, etc.), so it wasn't like signing Delhomme left us too cash-strapped to spend on other FAs. Delhomme's definitely not earning his paycheck on the field. But McCoy clearly values the veteran advice Jake's provided -- that's at least got some value...or sumtin
Gips
Im hoping the delhomme era is over now, and if the coaches keep him in then mangini should and likely will be held accountable by the FO... As a browns fan interception king QBs wear thin on my patience as do idiot coaches who put them on the field when known better options are available... Fairness? Whats that? This is the nfl put your best guys on the field! We almost lost a game thats end was out of our control against a team and in a game that technically should not have even been close... What does the coach think the dolphins who are fighting to stay alive are going to do if we start jake?

WRREBEL
Release delhomme and resign ratliff.. you can't win games with as many bad plays he makes.. I would rather start cribbs at qb..
next2nothing
Is Wallace hurt more than what is released on paper? That's the only reason I can see why he does not go in yesterday.
darubes
Is Wallace hurt more than what is released on paper? That's the only reason I can see why he does not go in yesterday. There was a little blurb in the paper this week where Wallace said he was not close to 100% yet. That is the only thing I have seen.
WRREBEL
We should just go with out a qb, aand put hillis, cribbs and stuckey in the back field.
BrownIndian
I think we should let delhome play the first half and bring in a new QB the next half. Correct me if im wrong but dont we always play dominant in the first half and then our QB cant make a throw to save his life in the second half ? (Except Colt i.e.)
