no. i'm pretty sure that is sarcasm. like mangini would want anything to do with holmgren ever again, except to bring a team into cleveland and beat the snot out of us...........sorta like this year dousing the pats and being 2 mins away from beating the jets.

By all indications Mangini left on fairly good terms with Holmgren.

Somebody may actually get Charlie Weis/Romeo Crennel Part Deux if they hire Josh McDaniels as OC and Mangini as DC.

He inherited teams flirting with the playoffs, not down-ridden franchises.

5-11 is flirting with the playoffs? That is what the Bears were the year before he took over.

He took over a 9-7 Dolphin team in which Marino retired, replaced him with the almighty Jay Feidler and went 41-23 the next 4 years.

Look, he isn't a world beater at head coach but he was much better than you are trying to give him credit for. It is funny, as soon as the lame nicknames start appearing in a thread, all rational discussion flies right out the window. Correlation?

He is not being hired as the Head Coach, remember? Where is the Defensive Coordinator support you want us to hang on?

I believe the name calling is the only thing that is new in this thread. When one side of the argument went hollow with "He had no success at Head Coach, so that must mean he will be great as a DC", the discussion kind of went soft.

Are you going to debate that he hasn't lost his players at every head coaching stop since being a coordinator twenty years ago? Please tell us what makes him such a great coordinator. I've asked this repeatidly, and you keep ignoring the question.

I think Wannstache should own a pizza joint, his stache would look great as a cartoon logo on a pizza box. Why do you think he will make a GREAT coordiantor?

BTW, the only consecutive losing season the Bears had for 16 years prior to the end of Wannstache's era, was the first year he took over and the last two seasons he used to destroy that once proud franchise.

Miami reeled off 15 straight winning seasons, until Wannstache lead them out of the gate to a 1-8 mark in his fifth season before quitting on them. Since then they have only tasted small success in 2 of the following 9 years. Point to Miami's demise this past decade, and Wanny's stache hair is all over it.
