Westside Steve
Actually not only do I have no problem but I support some kind of universal identification and database. 1 of the things that makes the present system so cumbersome is having to go through The rigmarole of filling out Copy after copy after copy of medications procedures in the past, etcetra for every doctor visit. Also think every human being should have d n a on file. Perhaps even a retina scan identification. The Social security number has been out dated since fred flintstone's era. calfoxwc
Remember in "Red Dawn", when the Russians made a guy in the resistance to swallow a chip like this? Then they could track him as he went to rejoin his group. And he did. And he was shot. Fun, silly movie. this, not silly. Never going to happen. Apparently, some folks would be happy to become the Borg in this country, for Obamao. It's something the nazis would do. And the Russians. And Communist Chinese... North Koreans.... This is America. Get your frickin ObaMao fascist gov out of our faces and take a hike.
Westside Steve
Hey Cal, that sounds surprisingly obama-esque. Didn't we just hear the democrats pissing their pants over the idea that a non english speaking person might be asked for I d in arizona? DieHardBrownsFan
I wouldn't mind a retina scan for say id at getting your drivers license, social security, etc. But a DNA sample I cross the line at. Where I work we use fingerprint scan to access certain areas.

It would be a very solid tool for proving guilt or innocence. A hell of a lot more reliable than eyewitnesses. It would almost certainly put an end to or at least greatly hamper deadbeat dads. It would take some power out of the hands of trial lawyers. Now you would have solid evidence and not just let a man's life and freedom hang on who tells the best story. Or which attorney is more attractive to the 12th dimwits on a jury. Those who are opposed give me a few real examples of what is so evil? I realize we all like to pretend we're outlaws but..... It's about not being a slave to the government and letting politicians keep track of my every movement. You think barack Obama will be recieving the mandatory chip? Do you? I don't know and I don't really care. I'll give a quick example. My father's very old and has health problems. I take him to different doctors weekly and every time they want a list of his medications. He gets confused trying to keep track. A doctor will change the dosage or med over the telephone. All of these records should be in a nationwide database. And that's not to mention people who go to 3 different doctors for oxy. Any doctor you see should have a complete medical record. It's just the smart thing to do. WSS

Westside Steve
How are DNA and microchips the same? They are just 2 forms of identification and collecting information. The same guys that bitch about those 2 things are the guys that were bitching that obama was going to put everyones medical records on the web for all doctors to access. I know some of you remember that. At any rate I think it's just technology. Like the firesign theater said " the future: live it or live with it. " Frankly I just don't care. I think the president is an empty suit, but I don't suppose he will waste his time digging into my files. Anyway I don't have that much I care about hiding so.... Let's put it this way: when someone on a message board alleges that the health care bill includes a provision that mandates micro-chip implantation so the government can monitor everyone ...it should set off your bullshit detector. And make you laugh. Because it's crazy. It's a different story in here. This is where crazy lives.

calfoxwc
It isn't mandatory in the version of the bill that passed. But, it was, i HR3200. That's the one they tried to get it passed. But it went too far, and was no more. In Obamaocare - the door is left open, per some subjective wording in certain parts. But, it was actually spoken of in the previous version. Democrat/proressive/socialist/radical population controllers. Maybe exterminators. There was a reason for the Jews in the camps to have a number. Ron Paul on the other hand should be more informed considering his job. Whose opinion am I listening more to? Hmm...Ron Paul or heckofajobbrownie...hmm? And your evidence that Ron Paul would be better is some crazed conspiratorial nonsense about how the health care bill mandated implanted microchips? Ron Paul doesn't even believe that. Some members of Ron Paul's crazed army do. And they have a website. You shouldn't be using this as a source of information. It doesn't even pass the laugh test. You don't have to read the entire health bill to know this is the stuff of loons. I certainly haven't read the entire health care bill. Just use your common sense. Also, if you read sites with actual information on them, as opposed to Ron Paul's deranged fan sites, you'd remember how this microchip nonsense was one of those phantom menaces that the right-wing foamed about during the health care debate, right before they were laughed out of the room. In terms of crazy, it was probably second only to the "death panel" nonsense. You can read more about it here, here, here, or here. Hope that helps. Westside Steve
http://www.snopes.com/politics/medical/microchip.asp Of course there will be bureaucrats who will decided on limitations for life sustaining care, "death panel" but those exist now.
