DieHardBrownsFan
Public School Kids Rail Against Michelle Obama’s ‘Healthy Lunches,’ While HER Kids Feast on Meatball Subs And Ice Cream by Top Right News on May 28, 2014 in Michelle Obama, Obama, Politics inShare by Gina Cassini | Top Right News Students in public schools across America are in full revolt against the revolting lunches that un-elected First Lady Michelle Obama has imposed upon them over the past 2 years. Disgruntled kids across the nation voiced their displeasure over Lady Michelle’s school lunch program from the beginning. Now thousands of students have taken to Twitter to express their frustration. Many have used #ThanksMichelle to tweet photos of their daily choices. Here are a few mouth-watering examples: By contrast, Michelle’s daughters’ school lunch is….well, something a bit different. At their elite Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., where the Obamas send their children, serves school lunches designed by chefs. This week, for example, they might enjoy meatball subs, BBQ wings and ice cream, in addition to chicken curry, deviled egg salad and the “Chef’s Choice.” Other options on the exclusive menu include: Crusted tilapia Herb roasted chicken Pesto cream & garden-fresh marinara sauce Roasted edamame & Shitake mushrooms BBQ sliders Pesto pasta All-natural rosemary chicken All-natural beef nachos Baked three-cheese lasagna Pepperoni flatbread pizza How divine! Of course if you are a poor Black family living in Washington, D.C., your kids who attend its disastrous schools have no chance of ever eating such fare, since Barack Obama killed the district’s school voucher program back in 2009, in one of his first acts as President. MLD Woody
Wasn't this exact thread posted already? I recognize the first picture. What do you want? Better lunch funding for inner city schools? Alright, increase taxes or take the money from somewhere else (military?). School lunches sucked before Obama too... What's you point?

Westside Steve
Actually I don't think she has much to do with school lunch not being gourmet fare. As I see it if parents are upset then get off your dead ass and pack be kid a lunch that you think would be better for him. Of course the hypocrisy of sending their kids to the millionaire private school while condemning anybody who would like to send their kids somewhere else is pretty obvious but as far as lunch... You don't like it, don't eat it. WSS

Westside Steve
How are they condemning anyone that doesn't send their kids to a fancy private school?By fighting tooth and nail against any proposal that includes a school voucher system. If kids who had parents who actually gave a shit enough to send him to a private school could get some money for that it would be a severe blow to the teachers union who has the president and his party by the short hairs. Of course public schools aren't nearly good enough for the presidents princesses.WSS

Alright, increase taxes or take the money from somewhere else (military?). School lunches sucked before Obama too... What's you point? government involvement. food sucks. immediate liberal solution? more government involvement. how about no public school, then no sucky school lunches. or no school lunches; if kids don't bring food, we know which parents are neglecting their kids. (even poors get food stamps; no excuse) but we don't really care about the children do we?
MLD Woody
I care about a kid's ability to get an education. School lunch food has always sucked. Schools have a hard enough time getting enough funding as it is. Of course the system isn't run perfectly, but a purely privatized education system could face a lot of problems. I'd think there'd be the potential for certain kids to miss out on some or all of an education all together. If a businesses main goal is to cut costs in inner city areas students will suffer. You'd also still need a good amount of regulation to keep all of the schools on the same page.
DieHardBrownsFan
Hell where I live half the kids eat at Taco Bell, Burger King, the Shake Shop, etc at lunch. Of course this isn't the inner city. But I don't think those inner city kids would spend their lunch money on food anyway, if you know what I'm saying...... The latest I read only 28 percent of Cleveland inner city schools graduate high school.
Westside Steve
So you fear the lack of regulation would make private schools worse than public schools? Don't you see the same regulatory system in place for, say, Buchtel and Firestone? (you can pick any miserable inner city school and successful suburban school for that example) WSS

Fuck The Obama's, Clintons, Bush's, all of em. Rich fucks who don't care about you. I've said it before. Politics is now a lifestyle for the elite. People want to bitch and moan about the 1%, CEO pay, $15.00 minimum pay for Fast food workers, etc, yet the people that should be working for the people live lives that are far beyond our reaches. Just remember, your favorite political affiliation doesn't care about you, until you vote. Once you vote, all they care about is protecting their interests. BrownsKidd
The other thing I will ad is this. Our constitution does not guarantee anything when it comes to education. That was left up to the states. This includes lunches. If you don't like what is being given to you, then pack your damn lunch.

Complete privatization may help areas with money (if private school isn't spread available) but I think it may hurt those areas without money. Westside Steve
I'm sure there are already regulations in place that make sure the kids that graduate from st. Incognito or Our Lady of Perpetual motion graduate with the same basic skills as any school. and with a voucher system you could help equal that playing field. Of course only the parents that gave a shit would bother with it and those kids are probably already on the fast track. WSS
MLD Woody
A voucher system isn't necessarily the privatization of public education. I do think a voucher system will leave some students out in the cold though. Mostly poorer students or less mobile ones.

You need parents who give a damn about their children. It's impossible to educate the parents, so make sure the children get a proper education so that when they have children they don't make the same mistakes.
