Yeah, that sucks. He was a funny dude. Good Will Hunting is a great movie. The Dead Poet's Society... not so much.

Coroner investigators suspect "the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia," according to a statement from the Marin County, California, Sheriff's office.

I really hope this isn't another "suffocation while jerking off" thing.

Really?

That's incredibly callous

Really sad. Pretty cool history with him and Christopher Reeve, particularly after Reeve's accident that I learned yesterday. Reading tweets etc., from people who knew him said he was a genuine, very kind person - that just happened to always be "on" - I'd see interviews and cringe sometimes that he might have been trying to hard, but it sounds like he just couldn't ever turn it off.

Uuuugggghhhhhh.

Idk what else to say. I'm not up to arguing with a mule right now...

But damn "dozens" of Tweets? Pretty much settles it...

Mules/Donkeys are democrats.........

I recall a line of his in the movie Good Morning Vietnam....he asked a soldier where he was from, the soldier replied "Cleveland" ...Williams replied back "then you must feel right at home".

Now with the revelation that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease it's all the more clear.

Along with the rest of the problems, the depression etc, to find that soon you won't be even able to perform would be devastating.

I've thought about it often and I'd probably take the same way out.

Not hanging myself something hopefully less painful but...

OK folks, this might get morbid! But I guess if I were to do that, I'd want to just set myself up somewhere I love, maybe some beach looking out over the sunset, and take whatever it would be that just puts me to sleep so I don't wake up again. None of the hanging, blowing my brains out or anything like that.

I would tie a piano wire noose up high in a tree, Super glue my hands to my head then fall into the noose. The first people to find me would just think that I had somehow ripped my own head off.

At least you'd be trying to entertain someone. I can respect that.

That's amazing. Not for suicide - I'd do it as a serial killer technique though!

Hahaha wow. That's pretty fantastic.

My uncle hung himself in 1986. In the garage. I was stationed in Okinawa at the time. His 10 year old daughter found him. I always thought that he was a happy go lucky guy and was pretty shocked about it. Found out later that his wife wife had left him, and he was going through a rough time. He's buried next to my father and no one except me and my brothers ever visit his grave. His one son lives here and never visits it. It's like they hold it against him.

That's not shocking a lot of people hold loved ones suicides against them. I think you go that if you are facing imminent death from something shitty and debilitating it adds a layer of sympathy to it. Who the fuck wants to die of Parkinsons?

Sounds like someone's a Doug Stanhope fan.

But Michael J Fox is facing it.....

Depression is a fucked up disease. Not everyone can handle the same thing. I used to think people were pussies who killed themselves. But then I learned more of the disease and realize that is fucking stupid to think.
