DieHardBrownsFan Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 In other news Robin Williams took his own life this morning. Very sad news indeed. RIP.
The Cysko Kid Posted August 11, 2014 Report Posted August 11, 2014 I thought you had been the victim of another Internet hoax but this is true. Bummer man. Bummer.
MLD Woody Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Yeah, that sucks. He was a funny dude. Good Will Hunting is a great movie. The Dead Poet's Society... not so much. Coroner investigators suspect "the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia," according to a statement from the Marin County, California, Sheriff's office. I really hope this isn't another "suffocation while jerking off" thing.
Axe Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 I really hope this isn't another "suffocation while jerking off" thing. Really? That's incredibly callous
MLD Woody Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Really? That's incredibly callous I don't think anyone from his family will be reading this board. I also really hope that isn't the case
Legacy Fan Posted August 12, 2014 Report Posted August 12, 2014 Really sad. Pretty cool history with him and Christopher Reeve, particularly after Reeve's accident that I learned yesterday. Reading tweets etc., from people who knew him said he was a genuine, very kind person - that just happened to always be "on" - I'd see interviews and cringe sometimes that he might have been trying to hard, but it sounds like he just couldn't ever turn it off.
DieHardBrownsFan Posted August 12, 2014 Author Report Posted August 12, 2014 Seems as though the scum bag muslims are happy. Read this: http://toprightnews.com/?p=5109

Stewy Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 I recall a line of his in the movie Good Morning Vietnam....he asked a soldier where he was from, the soldier replied "Cleveland" ...Williams replied back "then you must feel right at home".
The Cysko Kid Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Man Robin was in some great movies. He was truly a comedy great in his time. I feel sadder about this than I guessed I would.
Westside Steve Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 Now with the revelation that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease it's all the more clear. Along with the rest of the problems, the depression etc, to find that soon you won't be even able to perform would be devastating. I've thought about it often and I'd probably take the same way out. Not hanging myself something hopefully less painful but... WSS
gftChris Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 OK folks, this might get morbid! But I guess if I were to do that, I'd want to just set myself up somewhere I love, maybe some beach looking out over the sunset, and take whatever it would be that just puts me to sleep so I don't wake up again. None of the hanging, blowing my brains out or anything like that.
The Cysko Kid Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 I'd probably want to od on opiates. I couldn't imagine hanging myself or blowing my brains out. Fuck that.
LogicIsForSquares Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 I would tie a piano wire noose up high in a tree, Super glue my hands to my head then fall into the noose. The first people to find me would just think that I had somehow ripped my own head off.

The first people to find me would just think that I had somehow ripped my own head off. That's amazing. Not for suicide - I'd do it as a serial killer technique though!

DieHardBrownsFan Posted August 15, 2014 Author Report Posted August 15, 2014 My uncle hung himself in 1986. In the garage. I was stationed in Okinawa at the time. His 10 year old daughter found him. I always thought that he was a happy go lucky guy and was pretty shocked about it. Found out later that his wife wife had left him, and he was going through a rough time. He's buried next to my father and no one except me and my brothers ever visit his grave. His one son lives here and never visits it. It's like they hold it against him.
The Cysko Kid Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 That's not shocking a lot of people hold loved ones suicides against them. I think you go that if you are facing imminent death from something shitty and debilitating it adds a layer of sympathy to it. Who the fuck wants to die of Parkinsons?
MLD Woody Posted August 15, 2014 Report Posted August 15, 2014 I think I is a pretty selfish decision. That being said, when debilitating disease comes in to the picture, it is more understandable

LogicIsForSquares Posted August 16, 2014 Report Posted August 16, 2014 Sounds like someone's a Doug Stanhope fan. Correct.
DieHardBrownsFan Posted August 16, 2014 Author Report Posted August 16, 2014 But Michael J Fox is facing it..... Depression is a fucked up disease. Not everyone can handle the same thing. I used to think people were pussies who killed themselves. But then I learned more of the disease and realize that is fucking stupid to think. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/depression/basics/symptoms/con-20032977
