Trent Cole

Trent Cole scheduled to meet the Browns next. Coveted free agent started his tour in TB. IND, SF, NYJ among the other interested teams

Trent Cole would be a good fit. Another veteran on D who can add a pass-rushing element to our team. He would probably be an upgrade to Sheard as well. We still could draft another OLB for depth, but it wouldn't be as big of an issue with a healthy Mingo coming back as well...

Why is it so many Ohio natives over the age of 30 want to come to the Browns? Just sayin'.

Are we building for the future or are we the old folks home?

Its called getting paid. A lot of these guys feel that they can come here, get paid and do nothing.

And for what its worth the ringleader of that concept was Mike Holmgren.....so why shouldn't others try to emulate his example.

Another one-trick OLB? I'll pass...

Or to put it another way...

I think he'd be out of position, just like Sheard was.....except a lot older.....

hmmm, I think one of the Indy OLB'ers is likely to be cut if he's signing with them. I wonder if it's that German kid. I'd sign him in a heartbeat. He was Indy's best run stopper last year but they benched him for the Patriots game cause they wanted to get a little extra pass rush by putting in their other pass rushing specialist against Brady. And what happened? Colts got run the fuck over.

Indy is beginning to remind me of the Redskins some 20-30 years ago or so when they stocked up on old vets and had a good year or two before age caught 'em all. Anyone else recall that?

Colts sign Cole and signing Gore .....also Andre Johnson arriving tonight to discuss deal ....all go in Indy

Indy must have waived more money at Gore once his "done deal" with Philly was announced.

Yeah no. Bjoern Werner is not very good at OLB. We drafted him out of position, he's a natural 4/3 end. Besides how would he have an impact when the Patriots ran it up the gut all game long? Walden is a way better edge setter and Newsome is a way better pass rusher, so he got benched.

Not to mention that the Patriots offensive line would wait til we ran out stunts and then begin the block after the lineman crossed. Nothing Werner would have done against it.

Nope Philly reported they were giving him 5 mil over three years with 7 guaranteed, were giving him 4 mil over three years, same guaranteed. A little less but still, he said it was Chip Kelly's overbearing personality that he didn't like.
