Hate speech falls into a very grey area of the 1st amendment , we allow groups to protest, or express their opinions....but if it gets to the point where it could be consider "incitement" then it should be regulated by government to maintain the peace.

For example Westboro Baptist Church is allowed to protest thier hate of soldiers and gays, but have to maintain a certain distance from proceeding to prevent fights\violence.

it goes back to the corruption of thought when liberals go dominantly emotional on

issues.

They get the political advantage if they condone THEIR free speech, but oppose others' free speech.

If "net neutrality" came up under Bush or Reagan, all hell would break loose in the left and liberal media.

Like ALWAYS "gloating" over our soldiers' deaths overseas, but keeping that quiet now that Obamao is "president".

Like Shep "frightened" by Bush/Cheney, but not one word about Obamao's glaring overreach for power.

Like libs going berserk over the Patriot Act, but happy with it as long as a dem is pres. And this dem pres make

the Patriotic Act even stronger.

All we get from those same libs, is the Sounds of Silence. Because they have the advantage.

Every newspaper carried the deaths at least once a week, on Sundays, sometimes as a daily feature.

It was reported on CNN, etc, but then when Obamao came into the WH...

it stopped cold. Therefore, it's safe to figure that it was a happy-to-have-it political jab at Bush and Cheney.

But when it didn't suit their politics... they stopped it immediately.

If you don't believe me, go look it up - here's one link I went and found:

Oh so because breitbart said it, it must true eh? I can't speak for all media outlets but This week with George Stephanopolous was running it's weekly in memoriam for U.S servicemen well into Obama's presidency. Isn't it a nice thing? Isn't it supposed to remind us what servicemen are doing abroad? Do you see how basically your world is spun for you like a web? You're being trained like a dog. When they want a specific response from you they have the stimulus ready to go, and they get exactly what they want......every time.

she was insane?

You're fucking embarrassing.

I hope you get killed tomorrow.

Dude, your mother left you in a dumpster.

Liberals hate everything that stands in their way of controlling

everybody else who is not liberal.

No actually I know for a fact that ABC was doing it well into OBama's term. It's just a fact sorry.

Cleve translation:

"dammit. Cal showed that what he said above was not just his opinion. I'm an idiot"

This is why we can't have nice things.....

baloney. things like moveon.org, etc etc etc thrived under Bush and Cheney.

Then look at all the political, legal and economic tort maneuvering by Obamao and co. against any group

they disagree with.

Even Christian churches.

Text of the first amendment to the Constitution For The United States Of America

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Text of the tenth amendment to the Constitution For The United States Of America

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

the first 10 amendments were ratified in 1791, so from that point forward there should be no abridgment of freedom of speech from the Federal Government. Of course, Congress violated this in a major way in 1798 with the Alien and Sedition Acts. Several states (Notably Kentucky and Virginia) interposed and nullified these laws inside their states.

Under the original intent and operation of the Constitution that was only a chain on the Federal government, and states could impose speech codes, just as states could have their own established religions.

If you operate under the language of the day and original intent then your premise falls apart. If you operate under the "living document" premise then you might as well throw the Constitution and it's amended Bill of Rights out the window. Oh wait, that's what Federal Jurisprudence since FDR has done, eh?

I would modify the title and premise of the thread to "lovers of big government hate free speech". Or lovers of a consolidated versus truly federal government hate free speech. Our second president, a big government stooge signed a bill into law that prohibited criticizing the Federal Government.

gays hate free speech too, when it isn't them who are speaking and wearing rainbow t-shirts.

emotional, corrupt knee jerks.

It's like this - we enjoy watching "Survivor" on TV. One time, they had one

guy on there who was gay, and walked around naked a lot.

A bit annoying, but who cares. We enjoyed every series.

Then another gay came on, whatever his name was, and he wasn't just gay,

he talked and talked about it, used it in converations and whined and played

the victim, cried, more and more and more....

that was sickening, he quit the show. Then, he ended up coming on again.

And that show, spouses/partners were also on the show with them.

Sure enough, he had his whatever on the show as his partner.

Sure enough, they did nearly everything they could do to make a big

splash about it, ad nauseum, again and again and again, blah blah blah...,

far worse than any guy/gal or husband/wife will ever do.

and the same idiot quit the show again. We started only watching it after being recorded to

fast forward past the gay whining and feigned victimization and flaunting etc etc etc.

And the other gay guy got booted. Probably sued the show because of "discrimination",

regardless of what that is what the show ends up being a whole lot about - people being

booted off the island with votes.

Shoving perversion into peoples awareness is what is the problem.

I don't care that some people are either dna or psychologically warped into perversion.

It's sad, but hey, just don't try to force the rest of normal, heterosexual America into

accepting said public perversion in part of the culture war, like the left always does. That's all.

You are the only person I have EVER heard of that liked survivor.

I watched 2 minutes of it, after a superbowl, 10+ years ago, and knew it was garbage

If you are still watching that show, you need help.
