Don't remember them doing this before...

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000518343/article/nfl-roster-cuts-tracker

May not have very latest, up to the minute lists, but good place to go for all 32 teams lists. So far 16 teams have announced some cuts.

Early cuts of some note:

BUF: K Ladler (S)

IND: Z. Hodges (LB)

NYJ: DeVier Posey (WR)

SD : Curtis Grant (LB)

Bills cut Fred Jackson.

Browns are reportedly looking to add a RB due to the sheer amount of injuries we've seen so far. It wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world...

Agree. Someone like this would be a much easier sign than Ray Buster Douglass Rice......... Probably the same production without all of the extra baggage.

Cleveland Browns Should Bring in Fred Jackson After Being Cut by Buffalo Bills

http://www.clevelandsportszone.com/cleveland-browns-should-bring-in-fred-jackson-after-being-cut-by-buffalo-bills/

Above is a new to me source that if nothing else is pretty fast on the trigger.

Article points out that Pet knows Jackson through their common time in BUF.

I would think that Rex's and Pett's relationship would work in our favor if we want him. Pett would get the real scoop on why he was released, unlike he may or may not get with other coaches. Also, we have the cap space, so if he's healthy and wants to play football, seems we should have the best chance to sign him.

Frankly, I will be surprised if we don't sign him.

Slightly OT:

Is anyone else mildly excited for both the Bills and the Browns and the connection between Pettine and Ryan?

The connections between the two franchises run deep and now the connections between the two coaches mirror that.

OK, sure......let's have these two teams dominate the AFC for the next decade, why not.

I mean, at least there is somewhat of a viable rivalry there because of geography.

Unlike say the Colt/Patriots rivalry. That is not really a rivalry, that was just two teams from the same conference being good at the same time and having two of the best QBs around.

Like say the Browns and Broncos rivalry of the 80s. Only a rivalry because both teams vying for the AFC titles....but not a "real" rivalry. There is no connection. Yes, Browns have real rivals......Cincinnati, being in the same state and both being founded by Paul Brown. Baltimore.....that team is the bastard stepchild of the Browns and all that. Pittsburgh....local geographic rival. Buffalo and Detroit would be about the same. But like, if the Bengals and Chargers would both have HOF QBs and vy for the AFC title.....it would be a temporary rival based on competitiveness. Indy's natural rivals would be the Bears and the Bengals. (but the Bears already have some natural rivals...as do the Bengals.)

Buffalo and Cleveland could be a good rivalry because both are hard knock cities....and have a body of water that connects them.

(by the way.....what happened to the GLC?)

Somewhere PoG is composing his post on how 3 different NFL teams failed to use TR to his fullest potential, and that it is in fact all 3 of those teams' fault that he failed.

Beatlejuice, Beatlejuice, Beatleju...........

I think we should bring in Trent Richardson and move him to Safety.................oh no wait sorry my bad, that's the Greg Little story. Maybe Trent could come in and handle the balls, like Crowells balls, West's balls. Yes I know, I digress but TCPO was concerned it was getting to civil and sensible on the board

Keep an eye out further down the line to see which kicker the Chargers let go. They are in one hell of a great competition right now and neither one has blinked.

I suspect the Steelers may be looking at that as well.

That would be weird since they traded to get Scobee from JAX yesterday...

Coons still with us and Spears cut.

The competition between two superior kickers in SD is still going apparently. Neither cut yesterday. We really need to be in on whomever they cut very quickly. Both are better than we have now. Rambo (Lambo) outkicks his competition on ko's by about 10 yards. But the other guy has rarely missed fg's in his 4 years with the Chargers.
