We really need a sticky with 'shit donald trump says'

Now he wants to 'close up' the internet...

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/donald-trump-wants-to-ban-the-internet-will-ask-bill-gates-to-close-it-up-a6764396.html

Uh huh. I'm honestly not sure if he's serious any more, or if he's doing all this for some publicity stunt, or to turn around at the end and say "look at the shit I said, people following me are complete Retards"

Even the rest of the republican field has denounced him as 'unrepublican'

I've always felt the internet was a large part of what ails society today. But what are you going to do about it? What China does? No good.

I'll give you the Liberals go to response for issues they want to control like global warming or guns...

"Well what's your solution?? Just do nothing???"

Maybe in an effort to protect americans the first amendment should be limited. Common sense limitations. After all, the founding fathers only had printing presses. They couldn't have conceived of the internet.

Well that's the argument against gu- ah I see what you did there...

First thing you said in a long time that merits truth, and I'm glad you brought that up.

No sooner than nearly every Republican voicing their scathing disapproval of Trumps "ban all Muslims" rant, you get this dickhead Harry Reid blathering this garbage:

Donald Trump is standing on the platform of hate. And I'm sorry to say, "Hate that the Republican Party has built for him." It was just last week I came to the floor here, said, "The Republican Party is running on a platform of hate." Yesterday, Donald Trump provided the strongest evidence yet that it's true. Trump's proposal to bar Muslims entering this country is hateful, despicable, and really vile. Donald Trump is not America. Sadly, however, Donald Trump has become the Republican Party. - Harry Reid

There is no "reaching across the aisle" with democRATS. They want the opposition destroyed period. These Republicans were sincere in their criticism of Trump, hopeful to be able to score points with the media and dems by demonstrating a kinder, gentler party. Ain't happening fools.

It seems like at the beginning the 'establishment' candidates were desperately trying to hitch their wagon to his crazy to try to capitalise on his success. Now, as things have moved along, they've finally snapped away from his crazy and back to the standard republican stances.

However, we can't discount the success he's having among republican voters as 'not part of the party' - there's clearly a base there that share his views. It's easy to characterise them as 'tea party nutjobs' but is that genuinely the case?

Also, I disagree about working across the aisle, neither party wants to do that. Some issues really should be bipartisan, but there basically are none set up that way. Moving away from fossil fuels, for example - whatever your stance on global warming, cleaner air for everybody is a good thing, less reliance on fossil fuels is a good thing and future-proofing the infrastructure of the country is a good thing. Why hasn't that happened?

he has a point about the internet, but he loses me with the "radicalization" argument. If I had kids in this country there are far far far worse things than Isis on there. I mean if you're even a 50% attentive parent your kid isn't going to get radicalized by some towel monkeys. At best they'll watch the beheading videos but that's it. I'd have more immediate concerns with kids making their way to places like efukt. And most porn nowadays is so fucking disgusting. Honestly I wouldn't have much problem with my boy seeing some porn from the 80's and 90's....you know when porn people were somewhat normal. Now it's just getting so appalling even I can barely watch it anymore.

Seriously if I had seen a pink sock video when I was younger I wouldn't have made it. Would have scarred me for life, i'd be in the mountains somewhere firing off live rounds at people who came on to my property.

I'm more worried about rabble rousing than porn. I mean you'd think unlimited access to information would make people smarter and more able to check facts but...in reality it spreads so much dangerous misinformation taken as rote fact that it's appalling.

you haven't watched much porn lately then. Girls licking toilet seats and shit. And not just what they do in the movies, it's the way the people act. Porn has been so ngr'ed up it's astounding. Just the things I hear said in porn, i'm like who says that? Aren't I supposed to be fapping to this? How do people fap when the people on screen are so profoundy ridiculous and Retard. I really don't understand how anybody ever faps to 80% of porn out there.

“We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that internet up in some ways. Somebody will say, 'Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.' These are foolish people."

(ಠ_ಠ)

None of these morons understand how the internet works anyway. Hillary wants silicon valley to allow a special "back door" in encryption so the government can always get through - the encryption is a failure if there's any kind of "back door"

I'm all about net neutrality and an open internet. What Trump is saying is incoherent jibberish. The internet is already strictly regulated monitored- if you open a pro-isis website on your home web server you'll be getting a visit from some big dudes in dark shades with homeland security pretty quickly I imagine.

The thing is the illegal activity that happens is behind encryption, proxies. Even if you were in China you could get behind an unknown proxy and head anywhere you want on the web. Savvy people who travel to China get all prepared for that so they can keep accessing Google and other US sites.

What Hillary's saying is "open a backdoor in encryption for the government! help us break the encryption!" The thing is that would defeat the whole purpose of encryption.

---

The internet cannot be regulated or censored, and it isn't going away - have to live with it.

The other week I saw a clip, this didn't take long, of a girl on a hoverboard getting slammed. I mean that isn't technically bad but it's just so stupid. It's like they're running out of ways to portray people having sex.

Rule 34 of the internet...

They can block the proxy, but then the "bad guy" will just use another one.
