Republicans Sell Out

I've known a lot of people who have depended on PP for free STD tests and the like - so cutting out all the funding for it could be risky business.

Not if everyone is abstinent. That's the only sex education you need.

Media Hides Fact: Planned Parenthood Does 40% of Abortions

The fact of the matter is that 51 percent of Planned Parenthood’s yearly clinic income – their only self-sustaining revenue source – comes from abortion, 329,445 abortions.

40 percent of all reported abortions committed in the United States occur at a Planned Parenthood clinic, making it by far the largest abortion provider in America. (Editor’s note: When using the national abortion numbers from the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood does 27.5 percent of all abortions in the United States,)

Planned Parenthood’s claim that only 3 percent of its business is abortion is no different than if a car dealership claimed that it wasn’t really in the business of selling cars because the number of new car sales was only a fraction of its total services provided (financing cars, repairing cars, providing manufacture recommended maintenance for cars, cleaning car, and so forth). Of course no one would believe such an outrageous claim. Sure, a car dealership does all of those things, but its purpose is to sell cars.

The abortion industry is no different. The abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood, is about committing abortion. Sure they provide some other services, but when your only self-sustaining revenue source is one thing and you are responsible for 40 percent of that one thing in the entire nation, that is what you are about. Planned Parenthood is about abortion.

Does it matter that PP is doing 27.5% of national abortions? Is it competition you're worried about, that they might have a monopoly on the market and that stops up and coming, aspiring abortioners from ever making it to the big leagues?

Seeing and hearing Planned Parenthood talk nonchalantly about selling baby parts from aborted fetuses with utter disregard for human life is reminiscent of Joseph Mengele and the Nazi concentration camps! Mr. Graham continued. That shouldve been all that was needed to turn off the faucet for their funding.

Then be prepared to deal with the consequences in a mature manner. Why are libdiots allergic to personal responsibility?

I think getting regular STD tests, contraception, and annual health screenings are things a responsible person would do.

That's 90%+ of what planned parenthood provides.

If they don't get the abortion at planned parenthood, they're going to go somewhere else.

It's not like getting rid of planned parenthood is going to stop people from getting them.

That's true but that's not the point. The point is is the government somehow promised not to force people who feel that abortion is murder to pay for it with their tax dollars.

And yes blah blah blah war prisons executions etc

But the United States government made no such promise about those things.

So that's the agreement what do you believe it's a human life or a wart.

Anyway, the market share of abortions and or the percentage of the overall services is irrelevant really.

Some amount of abortions are happening each year whether it's mom and pops abortions or abortionbucks on every corner.

But tax dollars don't pay for abortions. On federal level or state level or any level

People cannot use their Medicare or Medicaid for an abortion.

So federal support for Planned Parenthood comes from the DNC? Or out of Obama's pocket? Or Hillary's super PAC?

I didn't know that, thanks for the clarification.

Also paying for abortions through Medicare is just fucking creepy...

Planned parenthood does not use any federal money for abortions , nor does any other abortion clinic.

The government funds the other facets, which account for 90% of its services or more - such as STD tests (which they usually offer for free), contraception (which also free usually)

If a pregnant woman goes into a planned parenthood clinic for an abortion she'll be paying the full cost out of pocket. Something like $1500-2000 or so.

See the Hyde amendment.

The ONLY exception is in case of rape, incest, or if the life of the mother is in jeopardy.

I don't think I have ever seen so many of the base republicans more upset with the establishment than right now. After passing the 1.1 trillion omnibus bill (which the democrats got all they wanted for their own base and Paul Ryan basically getting one concession for big oil and throwing both social and fiscal conservatives to the ditch) there is open rebellion in this party as Sen. Sessions said there would be once the people found out what was in this bill.

I went to FB and told Ryan what I thought of him and for days now almost non stop he has been getting an earful from republican voters like myself. There are many leaving the party to become independent which I am doing as well. Right now I am embarrassed to be republican. The establishment GOP are so out of touch with their own voters it is pathetic and to this day I don't think they are getting it. There is a reason the non establishment primary candidates like Trump and Cruz are leading the pack as republican voters do not want the establishment picking the candidate. If the establishment tries to destroy either Trump or Cruz I don't think there will be much left of the republican party. The republicans right now may control the House and Senate and most of the governorships but they have a real problem (of their own making...they need to listen to their voters and not just big business).

Here is what Nancy Pelosi said about the omnibus bill passed by the republican majority party: "The republicans gave up the store for big oil"

Chuck Schumer said "this omnibus contains all the provisions for what democrats stand for"

The democrats fought for the principals they believe in and even though they are the minority party they got everything for their own base while Paul Ryan in the majority republican party gave away the store for big oil.

a bunch of the reps are afraid of the big bad unethical attackers on the left.

You see it with the dirty cheapshot about Cruz's daughters.

Cruz fought back and took it right to them.

Did Ryan and the establishment republicans fight for any of the issues of their own party or show any loyalty to the millions of voters who believed in them and put them in office? No it was total cowardice and betrayal. It gets even worse though as Ryan is set to have meaningless votes in 16 on defunding Planned Parenthood even though he just voted to fully fund PP. This is just blatant hypocrisy to give cover for republicans who voted to fund PP will now tell uninformed voters they voted to defund PP. Hoodwinking voters.
