jbluhm86
Ben Carson committed political seppaku with the plethora of eyebrow raising comments he made, like the West Point debacle, claiming the Big Bang is a "fairy tale" and that evolution was encouraged by the devil, how the pyramids were built by biblical Joseph to store grain, etc. He sunk his own ark with his craziness. Westside Steve
I'm curious, how is 'free shit' significantly different to 'less tax'?Let me try, because, just maybe, the money you earn is your money and less taxes means you get to keep a little more of it? And free shit is where you don't earn it but somebody takes it away from somebody else to buy presents for you? I think your understanding comes from a system in which the government owns everything and is kind enough to parcel it out as they see fit. OldBrownsFan
Democrats Boo God - Vote Him Out of Platform Before They Put Him Back In To demonstrate their reverence for Big Government as a replacement for the American Founding Principles of "God-Given" Rights, the 2012 Democratic Platform was intentionally scrubbed of all mention of the word "God". The Moral Outrage from the American People shocked these godless statists into scrambling to re-write their platform to give the appearance that Religious Principles are suddenly important to them again. In order to amend their platform, however, they required a two-thirds majority vote from the Delegates present. But the soulless idealouges in attendance did not get the message that the lack of respect for Religious Principles needed to be reversed, for appearance sake at least. So when the Voice Vote was taken, it is clearly audible that they are not getting the necessary two-thirds majority to amend their statist ideals. After repeated votes, and multiple attempts to hint to the moronic horde that they are supposed to vote "yea", the motion is finally "passed" despite obviously not having the required two-thirds approval. The irony of the Democrats' displaying "Voter Fraud" deciding a moral issue AT THEIR OWN CONVENTION is almost funny, if it were not so blatantly and clumsily deceptive. The video of the crowd loudly booing the reinstatement of the word "God" into their platform is a stark look into the Soul of today's Democratic Party. Yea, Big Government, BOO God. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxA_ZzPZleI

OldBrownsFan
Would it be better if they referenced Odin? I posted that in response to the WWJD not being a republican. Would he be a democrat? Not hardly on the social issues such as abortion or gay marriage. On economic issues it looks a little better for the democrats as the early church was very much in the camp of spreading the wealth around and socialistic in how they governed. However that only worked in the early church. Capitalism with it's faults has proved to provide the highest standard of living. Actually I don't see Jesus in either party as He was not political in His time.
MLD Woody
No, that was in response to the video and paragraph you posted about the Democrats being "against god". The paragraph says they are against religious freedoms, are godless, etc. but it never mentions Christianity So would it be better if the platform referenced Odin? The paragraph says they are against religious freedoms, are godless, etc. but it never mentions Christianity So would it be better if the platform referenced Odin? Some liberals thought it would be a great idea to get every reference to God out of their platform but when they saw this could hurt them politically they were in a jam because the only way they could undo what they had done was a two thirds voice vote. So the world gets to watch voter fraud openly at the democratic convention as they certainly did not get that two thirds voice vote (proving the saying it is who counts the votes that matters). It is not a surprise to me the democrats fight voter ID at every turn.
MLD Woody
Ok. Based on the wording in the paragraph in your post, it seems like referencing Odin would be alright. So for the 3rd time... would it be better if they referenced Odin? Better for whom? Me? I don't care what the democrats do with their platform but was pointing out their hypocrisy and public voter fraud. I'm sure there are many who would like to have an atheist platform but the polling data isn't there yet to support that decision so they will wait until they can have that atheist platform without hurting their elect ability chances. Much like Obama and Hillary Clinton believed marriage was between one man and one woman before they flipped *evolved*.
MLD Woody
I hypocrisy is in that paragraph. They don't want religious principles and religious right. They want Christian principles. That's why I said Odin. That obviously isn't what the author wants, but he never came out and just said "Christian God".

LogicIsForSquares
That is the same type of horse shit that ghetto black people use to shame other black people for not living like them. gftChris
"mn, that guy works hard, obeys the law and doesn't talk ghetto, he is a disgrace to black people" - that kind of thing, logic? at least, that's what I'm envisaging. A generation of black people who are so anti-'man' that anyone who actually succeeds within the framework of the system is a traitor. Anyone who was raised in a family with any kind of money can't possibly understand institutional racism.
Westside Steve
"A" generation? Seems like it's been quite a few. Of course if anybody voted for Obama (or members of his party the last few decades) in a giant block thinking that his election would lift their people out of their unfortunate status should start to notice that voting record hasn't been all that effective. I would feel insulted if candidates pandered to me and my people as folks who didn't know any better and needed a shepherd. I'm disappointed that Carson, if he really needed to play that card, couldn't have found a better way to do it. WSS
gftChris
Yes, multiple generations. As for Carson, he could potentially have given examples of his racist victimisation, or where he protested it in his youth (kinda like Bernie did). WSS Not if you want republicans to vote for you, probably. But Sanders actually has a history of going out and taking part in som relevant demonstrations, and standing up for his convictions. I have no idea if Ben Carson does, but he would be wise to bring it up to make the point he's trying to make.
