THE BROWNS BOARD

Calfox's pre-fa, pre-combine more stupid mock draft that usual - 3 rounds

First pick, 2nd overall - Carson Wentz. Goff has small hands,

not a bad weather/tough mentality. Wentz has a lot more going

for him offense wise - pro style, versatile offenses understood,

student of the game, loves football, outstanding character,

very athletic. Lynch is maybe two years away. Wentz could

be ready in half a season.

Second round, #32. Rashard Higgins, WR, Colordo State.

4.46?... tough, 2nd reciever pro ready, very smart, great quickness,

elusive... coach says he could be a pro bowl wr in three years.

Sure, you'd like to pick a DE/LB here, and get him in the third round.

Not going to happen. A wr here is far more a dramatic impact, even

with a good wr free agency signing or two. Not impressed with other wr's

that should be there in the third round, so, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Third round, Joe Haeg, OT, outstanding protector of Carson Wentz, his teammate.Swartz might leave. This pick is to groom a very, very good OT - not the top five...

but he's from the right offense. That had Wentz as his qb.

Fourth Round... well, you have to go defense.. but I don't know. I like the TE from

Ohio State. But this mock is stupid enough as it is - let's not get carried away....

oh, what the hell.

Fourth round - Deandre Houston-Carson, FS, William and Mary.

Great skills, could move to cb. Smart, very fast, agile... a great pick here.

Why a great pick? Because it's my stupid mock draft, and if it isn't

all that stupid, it's a great pick, eh?

Hey, at least I avoided drafting a qb in the second round or something.

Lynch in the second round was a thought.

Didn't want to get too wild and crazy.....

I know, but the defense suffered from the "square ped in round hole" syndrome.

also, the offense needs to fix the young qb - face of the future, and potential loss

of at least one olineman.

Makes me wonder... what if the qb is Kevin Hogan with a fixed, shorter release?

Maybe he is the qb they get... with their 32 pick? What of the #2 overall pick?

Rumor has it that Stanford QB Kevin Hogan has shortened his throwing motion with the help of a QB coach, reports TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.
Hogan's work with veteran NFL coach John Ramsdell has resulted in "a hastened release and better velocity on passes," writes Pauline. "Teams believe Hogan has a great upside and will be a better pro passer than college thrower. A good throwing workout on Saturday will further improve his draft stock, which is seemingly on the rise." While Hogan's frame, arm strength and pass velocity always impressed, his theatrical windup and slow delivery dampened enthusiasm about his NFL potential. If he's solved that issue, a corresponding stock increase will naturally follow.

Suppose the Browns were impressed with Kevin Hogan's quicker release.

Maybe....

#2 overall......Miles Jack, LB ?

DeForest Buckner DE

#32.... Kevin Hogan?

3nd Round...Rashard Higgins WR if he's there... or Pharoh Cooper WR ?
I think Haeg would be gone by the fourth round. But I really like Hogan, and Miles Jack
would be a dramatic impact player for the defense.
I really need to ice my knee after getting firewood, and using my knee up the deck steps. dammit.

I don't see how you could go wrong with Wentz or Goff at #2 but, as Cal knows, I am a 4 year Hogan fan & if he works on that release, could be the steal of the draft at #32 if the Browns choose to go somewhere other than QB at #2. We'll just have to wait & see what happens.

You just want an orange and brown Hogan's Heroes t-shirt.

I like that first pick Cal. I'm way behind at acquaintsies this year; so I don't have any feedback about the others.
