hoorta Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 Total blow up of the roster. Let all the FAs walk. May as well let Joe Thomas go to the Broncos, and get ready for a 0-16 season. If Sashi has a plan- I'd like to know what the hell it is.... The little birdie says cheap, cheap, cheap. Maybe some VSOP Hennesy might calm me down.
darren15 Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 I just cannot wait for Sashi's next press conference ....
hoorta Posted March 10, 2016 Author Report Posted March 10, 2016 I just cannot wait for Sashi's next press conference .... He's got some splanin' to do.
LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 I am super bummed that we lost the dynamic players who got the Browns to 3-13. If I were to guess, they are placing a higher value on the compensatory picks that will come of this than the players. This is a true rebuild.
darren15 Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 We lost the best players that got us to 3-13 and kept the rest
calfoxwc Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 rather have players who want to play here, and aren't in it for just the giant payday as a free agent.
One Post Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 It's not a good free agent year. Ya their are some top tier players that were available but look who they went to. Jags? Giants? Raiders? Prff. They're just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. There's crazy money out there this year for a down year meaning some bonehead contracts will happen. I say make plenty of moves for depth on the lines. Also if you want to go out and get a wr go for Wallace.

This is a true rebuild. no, cmon, not another rebuild...naw....phffffft...what a fucking franchise...they say the 2 most embarrasing pro franchises the last 15-20 yrs or so are the sacramento kings and yes folks, the ole cleveland clowns....
browns52 Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 rather have players who want to play here, and aren't in it for just the giant payday as a free agent. yeah right, you need to find marty mcfly and go back to the future with him if you want that....
TexasAg1969 Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 He's got some splanin' to do. "I have a plan"
BrownPile Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 Reminiscent of the 90-91 Indians. Blew up team to put money into farm system. End result worked, but those were some tough seasons to live through.
calfoxwc Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 My opinion... if a player wants to play other teams against the Browns in negotiations, then those players won't get a patsy in that process. Bitonio, Joe Thomas....are the kind of guys who don't play that crap.
LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 no, cmon, not another rebuild...naw....phffffft...what a fucking franchise...they say the 2 most embarrasing pro franchises the last 15-20 yrs or so are the sacramento kings and yes folks, the ole cleveland clowns.... You can always just pout about it or accept that this is an actual rebuild where the front office seems focused on building through the draft. The old strategy of being a retirement plan for aging players doesn't seem to jive with the new front office. Hell, even with them blowing up the franchise they will likely still win more than 3 games.

The old strategy of being a retirement plan for aging players doesn't seem to jive with the new front office. Hell, even with them blowing up the franchise they will likely still win more than 3 games. Aging players? Go look at the ages of the guys who walked. I'm sooooo excited we re-signed that key Special teams ace Tank Carder. NOT! I guess the bright side of this is with all the departures, the Browns have to have the most Cap space in the NFL- plus a bunch of compensatory picks coming. (we just traded Mack for a likely comp 3rd). We might even be under that Cap floor- which to my mind means we're going to be stuck overpaying for second tier garbage. Hey Ghoolie, maybe if we pay Joe Thomas $20 million- that will take care of that problem, LOL. Unless we pick up a few FA OL, drafting Goff or Wentz is suicidal- shades of '99 with Couch. Corgnac- next some single malt Laphroig to ease the pain and realization, we're diving for the basement. Sashi- you screwed to pooch day one. Got anything better up your sleeve?
LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 Aging players? Go look at the ages of the guys who walked. More a reference to Dansby, Whitner, Bowe, Williams, Starks, McCown, etc. The only free agent who walked that I have concern about was Schwartz.

Hell, even with them blowing up the franchise they will likely still win more than 3 games. you can rebuild while still keeping your blue chip RT and FSs who are still in their mid-20s BAD MOVE They did not get better by losing both of them on 5-7$ mil/per year deals. Those are fair market prices, not overpriced, and thems are facts
LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 you can rebuild while still keeping your blue chip RT and FSs who are still in their mid-20s BAD MOVE I am not concerned about Gipson. Schwartz? Sure but he accepted less money to leave. Can't really negotiate with that.
Westside Steve Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 https://mobile.twitter.com/ChefFlaccoGOAT/status/707557935929368576 So Camps Goff and Wentz can start dousing the campfires. WSS

LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 Gipson was the only consistent DB on team over last three years. You're right, no loss there Yeah he totally blew everyone's hair back last year with his play. I am still not blubbering over his exit.

LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 Check the twitter handle. It is shenanigans.
hoorta Posted March 10, 2016 Author Report Posted March 10, 2016 Check the twitter handle. It is shenanigans. Sucked me in. I should know by now don't trust anything you see on Twitter.
LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 Sucked me in. I should know by now don't trust anything you see on Twitter. ESPN got suckered by one today and had to issue an "oops".
Westside Steve Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 ESPN got suckered by one today and had to issue an "oops". Yesterday I would have called bullshit if somebody tweeted that we were going to dump 4 good to excellent starters.... WSS
LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 Yesterday I would have called bullshit if somebody tweeted that we were going to dump 4 good to excellent starters.... WSS They did a bang up job. Maybe with another player of their caliber the Browns could have pushed it to 4 wins.
LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 As far as I am aware, they negotiated with all four of them. Two walked for less money. Not much the front office can do at that point.
Mudfly Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 I think "dump" is an unfair term.....feels more like those players dumped us....
Mike H Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 As far as I am aware, they negotiated with all four of them. Two walked for less money. Not much the front office can do at that point. One, Mack, left for 250k less money. Let's try to stick to the facts we have available
LogicIsForSquares Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 One, Mack, left for 250k less money. Let's try to stick to the facts we have available So Mack left for less money then or are we debating what "less" means?
