fair and balanced, like Fox News.

We were joking about all sorts of other religions, and I

just thought the atheist "religion" should be included....

It's like a point is attempted to be made in another thread, and it goes right by everyone...

But no, it is cool. You're all being clever. Gosh darn it.

Its like your point that christians are meany heads gets less important because now there's 100,001 muslim terror attacks

Extremism exists in religion as a whole. I believe the high number of Muslim extremists has to do with the environment than the specific book they read. Africa is shitty and there are violent Christian extremists there.

That other thread also showed how some distinguish between Christians and "Christians", but not with Islam.

Refugees and native born people are turning to terrorism. They are not currently or have never lived in these environments that supposedly are more to blame for the extremism yet they turn in that direction. The only thing they have in common is that they read the same specific book.

Islam has never experienced a 'new testament' moment. If the Bible was only made up of the Old Testament, you would very likely see way more Christian extremists. However, the New Testament introduced the hippy son who preached peace. The Quran was written by one guy during his life time. There is no loose interpretation of what he meant. Any clarification needed was covered by the Hadith shortly after Muhammad's death. The scholars who knew Muhammad confirmed the "sword verses".

A desert bandit created a religion and people are shocked when the believers are more apt to kill others. The believers who are chill are great. But at the heart of it, there should be no confusion. It is a violent religion.

no, that is incorrect. Extremism exists in the greed and evil of those who are sick enough to embrace it.

nazis hideous violence - not religious.

drug cartel hideous violence - not religious

communists and socialists hideous violence - not religious (stalin, mao, mussolini for examples)

kkk hideous violence - not religious

illegal immigrants hideous violence - not religious

You have to differentiate between random occurences of inividual hideous violence... and mass cultural

movements' hideous violence.

A dr, layer, preacher, whoever can commit hideous violence.

But that isn't a mass cultural movement like some of examples I gave above. And religion isn't a common

factor of extremism.

Islam is the reverse of Christianity. As Mohammed grew in power the more violent his teachings became. At first he preached peace but then said to disregard the early writings and kill infidels.

Thus the concept of abrogration within the Quran. In the timeline, all of the "let's be peaceful neighbors" stuff is in the early going before Muhammad was able to convince enough people to join him.
