Harell lands with Browns

Camps need arms. This is one of them. I don't think this signals the end of DA or Quinn here at all.

If it's true, that means we have 5 QBs (Quinn, Anderson, Ratliff, Bartell, and how Harrell).

That's a lot of QBs.

wtf kind of signing is this? 4 qbs sounds really great, im wondering if we are going to move DA for pick next year.

It doesn't say anything.

With 4 mini camps and training camp, there is a whole lot of throwing going on. You need 4 qbs to do all you want without burning up players arms in training camp.

I saw we signed a kicker too...that doesn't mean we are replacing Dawson...it simply means we know he can't kick off 40 times a day if we expect him to still be kicking in December.

We already have 4 qbs for mini camps. The only fa picks that are going to stick will be Norwood, and the OL from bama.

Whatever the number, we need plenty of arms in all these camps.

Balls are being thrown all over the place, and it is better to come for a real qb than some old coach tossing the thing around.

I'm guessing Bartell isn't long for this roster.

mini camp isnt a gay porno, "balls thrown all over the place" , it is mini camp, we need to know what we have with the other qbs ,4 is plenty.

I agree....4 is a good number.....having one more doesn't hurt anything.

A couple are there for drill work.....not necessarily running the first implementations of the new O.

Quinn and Anderson for sure don't need to be out there throwing 150 balls a day.

Are all mini camps mandatory?

NFL rules allow for x amount of manditory and x amount that are voluntary. We'll know when they are manditory.

why did harell's stock drop so far? at the beginning of the season he was seen as one of the best qbs in college football. now he is undrafted and wasn't even talked about in the combine. what happened?

He's a system QB. After the likes of Andre Ware, David Klingler, Kliff Kingsbury, etc.....no one really wants to take a shot. The one thing I do like about the kid is that he makes quick decisions. I think his arm is average and his athleticism is minimal otherwise. That said, Colt Brennan stuck with the Redskins last year and he was a similar QB.

its more obvious now than ever,,quinn at 1 ,,ratliff at 2 ,,and harrell at 3[no worse than dorsey] ,,da will only be a distraction to the team and quinns development and mangini knows this ,,now that they have ratliff ,who mangini is comfortable with there won't be a vacuum at the qb position if quinn were to get injured ,,the writing is on the wall ,,they'll move da for what ever they can get being nobody bit on him during the draft,,imho...

We can't have 3 QB's that have a total experience of 3 NFL games between them. Just isn't healthy

Seems to me all QBs are system QBs....Montana was a system QB. Put Peyton in a roll out system, he would flop, so yes....he is a system QB.

We have 4 mini camps and 2 two are voluntary. UDFA players need someone to throw the ball to them. Never know when you can find a diamond in the rough.

Last year RAC killed these guys in camp because he only had 3 guys. Quinn and Anderwon both had sore arms.

So, maybe someone should tell the other guys to not bother to show up.

There are all kind of UDFAs lining up on Sundays that guys like you never thought had a chance. One will be our starting safety and one is Cribbs. Oh and there's this guy in Pissburgh named Harrison.

So, you never know

That's a fair point. Perhaps, it is more accurate to say that some systems don't translate well into the NFL such as the spread/run and shoot. Colt Brennan managed to stick with the Redskins last year running a completely different offense than what he ran at Hawaii. Texas Tech QBs don't typically find even that kind of success.

And that would be a fair point as well.

I might disagree some wouldn't translate well to the NFL, but they don't run them, so it does mean a certain skill set is more desirable.

Much like the kid from Hawaii last year, he's purely a system QB.

I think Tebow will be the same, just as Alex Smith was under Meyer in Utah.

I like Harrell. He has more NFL quarterback potential than most of the spread guys, including Daniel. He has nice height and decent arm strength, great accuracy downfield. He could be somebody's third quarterback.

Like say, ours? After Quinn and Ratliff?

Guess you missed the senior bowl...it was derrick anderson in the probowl...esk!
