Ohio finally making needed changes to civil forfeiture laws

Good, damn good. Civil forfeiture is too great a power and sadly has had multiple cases of mis-use.

 

If you're a "constitutionalist" then you're anti this. The police receive a lot of funding from their confiscating of 'criminal' property. Some, clearly, is for criminal use.

Again there are too many other cases where its clear over reach and the victim (that's exactly what some people are) have to PROVE it wasn't for criminal use. The complete opposite of how our justice system works.

 

It's horseshit and should only be used in extreme circumstances.

Yes it's horseshit but good luck trying to separate the acceptable cases from the unacceptable.
