The 67-year-old addressed the crowd as "embarrassed Americans" referring to President Trump in the White House in a newly-surfaced clip from his show in Melbourne Monday night. He sang a cover of "Don’t Hang Up" mocking Trump’s phone call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull. He said, "We stand before you embarrassed Americans. He does this in Australia where I guess Bruce has no problem with the immigration system there where if you are caught entering the country illegally they banish you off to an island and you are forever forbidden to set foot in Australia. Bruce should really look at the number of drowning deaths of immigrants that have occurred because of Australia's immigration policy of stopping boats at sea before running his mouth about how embarrassed he is to be an American (while in Australia). Presley said he knew there were fans both conservative and liberal in the audience so why alienate them and he kept his conservative views privately. Some of these entertainers may be musical genius's but pure knuckleheads when they get out of the music arena and into the political arena. I remember years ago watching one musical genius on a talk show delving into politics and thinking to myself this guy is a pure knucklehead and has no clue what he is talking about. Sure celebrities have the right to do whatever they want to but in many cases their lack of knowledge on the issues becomes glaring. In this case Springsteen is telling an Australian audience how embarrassed he is to be an American and I am sure he has no clue as to the harsh immigration policies that Australia has in place. I didn't want to give out names but I was thinking about Paul McCartney who I saw on a talk show running down George Bush being so stupid blah,blah, blah...and thinking about Bush being an Ivy League school grad and McCartney a Liverpool High School grad. I can still enjoy their work while I don't give fuck number one about their politics. In many cases thank 1 record sales slow down and you are out of the public eye making some sort of asshole political announcement get you some more notice. Many in here are frustrated that they think they have the answer but get little exposure. Celebrities, new or old, have a large platform. If Madonna, Springsteen or Moore want to get publicity they simple have their publicist make a call and some national talk show will give them 3 minutes.
