Steelers and Colts?   Colts, yes....not Steelers.  Steelers never appeared in a conf. final as a member of the NFL ..only as an AFC member (during Super Bowl era) So...Colts and Browns yes....but there is another.

11. A. How many AFC title games have gone into Overtime?

At least one Miami\Chargers?  "At least one "is not an answer"  Are you guessing one...or some other number?  But FYI, no...Miami Chargers game, if one went into OT....was not a Final Four game....but a divisional round game.

B How many NFC title games have gone into Overtime?

Hint: There has been "at least one"

I thought maybe that this weekends games in Philly and New England could challenge some of the cold game records....but apparently not.  According to this, it is supposed to be in the 40s in both places:

Also.....the 3 coldest games in history.....The freezer  Bowl was one....and as you might expect...the other two occurred in Green Bay:

Answers

1. A.  Which QB made the most appearances in NFC  Final Four games?

Joe Montana   6 times  (plus one in the AFC)...Oh, and sorry...it should have been QBs....because Staubach also appeared in 6. My bad.

B. Which QB made the most appearances in AFC Final Four games?

Tom Brady....10  (I think this includes this next one on Sunday)  Next are Bradshaw and Elway with 6 each

2. Name the only three (3)  QBs who started a Final Four game  for both a team in the NFC and one in the AFC.

Montana...as noted above for 49ers and Chiefs.    Earl Morrall....started one game for the Colts while they were still in the NFL  (a blowout over the Browns in fact)...plus he started the  AFC conf. title game for the Dolphins in their 1972 17-0 season....because Griese was injured...but Griese started the Super Bowl game. Lastly:   Craig Morton, started for both the Cowboys and the Broncos

3. A.  Name the two NFC QBs who faced off the most times in the NFC conf. title game.

Aikman vs. Steve Young.  4 times.

B. Name the two AFC QB who faced off the most times in the AFC title game.

Peyton vs. Brady  4 times.   (next were Elway/Kosar, and Bradshaw/Stabler 3 times)

4. A. Which two NFC QBs are tied for making the most consecutive appearances in the NFC title game.?

Aikman and Donovan McNabb....each with 4 straight appearances.

B. Which AFC QB made the most consecutive appearance in the AFC title game?

Tom Brady....Sunday will be his 7th consecutive  AFC title game appearance.

5. Which team has had the most different QBs start for them in a Conference title game?

The RAMS!    Both in LA and St. Louis.  The following 7 QBs have started a FF game for them: James Harris, Pat Haden, Ron Jaworski, Vince Ferragamo, Deiter Brock, Jim Everett.  Kurt Warner.

The Rams under Chuck Knox in the 70s were that powerhouse team that could almost never break through to make the SB...it only happened once with Vince Ferragamo in 1979...

The next closest are the Washington Redskins with 5 QBs starting a FF game.

6. Name those Browns QBs that led them to a Final Four appearance.

Bill Nelsen 2.  Bernie Kosar  3

7What team has won the most Final Four appearances without a loss?

The NY Giants are 5-0 in FF games

B.  What team has made the most Final Four appearances without a win?

The Cleveland Browns are 0-5 in FF games.

8. What teams have appeared in Final Four games for both the  NFC/NFL and the AFC/AFL?

The Browns, in the late 60s made 2 appearances as a member of the NFL (lost to the Colts '68 and Vikings '69)..and in the 80s with the AFC.

The Colts, in the late 60s as a member of the NFL. (Beat the Browns in 1968)

The Seahawks.   Remember, the Seahawks were a member of the AFC from like their inception until about 2000.   As such, they lost the 1983 AFC title game to the LA Raiders.   After they switch to the NFC in @ 2000 they have appeared in 3 NFC title games.

9. What stadium hosted the most Final Four games?

Candlestick Park. 8 total.   Second goes to Three Rivers, and Gillette stadium...which  this year hosts its 7th  FF game

10. What team won the most consecutive Final Four games?

Buffalo Bills    4 in a row...and of course they lost all 4 SBs in a row.

11. A. How many AFC title games have gone into overtime?

Just one:   1986   Browns vs. Broncos   Cleveland Municipal Stadium.  "The Drive" game.  Featured in Hot Tub Time Machine.

B. How many NFC title games have gone into overtime?

Five different NFC title games have gone to OT:  1998 Falcons/Vikings   2007 Giants/Packers  2009 Saints/Vikings 2011 Giants/49ers 2014 Seahawks/Packers

12. What is the only team to have never appeared in a Conference Title game?

The Houston Texans.
