Ah, come on Gipper- that sort of info is just a couple mouse clicks away....  Landry averaged 12 ypc this year. But-but-but that's not anywhere close to Mike Evans 17 ypc.

Well Jarvis raggers, 12 ypc is more than Julian Edelman's 11.5 ypc- so go ask Tom Brady if he thinks HE sucks.  :D How many drive sustaining great catches did he make against the Chiefs? A bunch you say?  Landry is our Edelman. Deal with it...

Probably a good time to close this thread after that final statement.. I took it as a gavel slam.. (No offense Gip) LOL

I really do try to be sort of objective. I pointed this out earlier to guys who are SO anti-Jarvis, where's the thread about Jamie Collins being statistically inferior?  And making a ton of money in the process? IMHO, they've picked the wrong guy to target..

But-but-but, we're overpaying him!!!!  Just like any team in the dumpster would have had to. How many players take a discount to play for a team with Super Bowl aspirations?  Suh raked in $60 million guaranteed from the Dolphins, and is playing on a relatively cheap $16 million one year deal with the Rams...

Nah, I'll keep it open.  Haters gonna hate...

A symptom of being in the NFL gutter so long does that to people.. Some just enjoy being miserable.. I laugh at everything and everybody.. I figure whilt I'm alive.. I'm gonna smile and laugh my way through life.. Its how I've pretty much handled obstacles in stead of "Woe is Me"

I am just on my phone so it’s not as easy for me to do the research like that as when I am on my desktop at the office

OK, understand. I have a hell of a time early in the day when I'm reviewing on on my tablet- with the same problem. Cut and paste, or insert links? Haven't figured that out yet....

He had 81 catches....just 8 short of the team record.  He gained 12.0 yards per reception.   That is what possession receivers do....make first downs.
He absolutely did what he was brought here to do and what he was expected to do.
And this does not count for any intangibles he may have brought.

ummm....it's a stupid comparison.  Edelman catches a higher percentages of balls(at least last year), so his yp target(the more meaningful stat) is higher.....

also,  while you're at it- look up edelman's contract.  Then look up landry's....now thats the gavel slam.

Nah...he's right...

Landry sucks because someone else has a couple better stats...cause that's all that matters, entire picture. It's their money afterall...

There's no right or wrong here.. Landry is productive for us.. End of story..

So I just looked at Landry's statistical season...and for almost half the games he caught 50% or less of his targets.  Now that seems sub par.  But you have to consider that at some point the QB HAS TO throw the ball.  (or run, throw it away or eat it)  So who would you pick to throw the ball at, such that only he could get it, not the defender, but it's going to take an incredible effort and catch?  You'd probably go with Landry.  Especially early on,  when Njoku was dropping passes.  -  And Landry came through with some circus catches.

Landry was on the field for us all season...contributing every week...even when he was dinged and thought that he might not be active for Sunday.  Might as well say he had five 100 yard games (4 acutally, one was 97 yards).    With all of the young, unproven receivers he was surrounded with, he had a pro bowl type year.
