Late but better late than never. Sixty years ago on Sunday which was the Super Bowl ironically. Was the day the music died on "American Pie" that song as Buddy Holly 17, J.P. The Big Bopper Richardson 28, and Ritchie Valens 17 and pilot Roger Peterson 21, boarded a plane from Iowa and crashed into the corn fields killing all on board.

Really that could or would had ended rock and roll as it is described as the first rock and roll tragedy. Possibly the second and third would be Elvis Dying and John Lennon being killed by a crazy obsessed fan.

I was just at the site of the crash back in October in Clearlake Iowa. It is a coupler for miles outside of that town you drive out and they’re in the middle of the cornfield you find a big huge set of eyeglasses Buddy Holly eyeglasses. And then you walk about a quarter-mile through a cornfield to the actual spot where the plane hit the ground

Would love to go to the Surf Ballroom and see for myself in Clear Lake Iowa and to the site of the crash. Would bring a lot of old fashioned music. Love that kind of music as a 44-year old, started liking it as an 11 years old.

Nothing was happening the afternoon that I was at the Surf Ballroom, it was closed....but the crash site is about 8 miles out of town.
