Fox News killed Stormy Daniels hush money report before election

What Fox News has become is destructive. To state the obvious: Democracy, if it’s going to function, needs to be based on a shared set of facts, and the news media’s role is to seek out and deliver those facts.

Most news organizations take that seriously, though they may flounder badly at times. When they do, they generally try to correct themselves — that’s why you see editor’s notes, lengthy corrections, on-air acknowledgments, suspensions and even firings of errant news people.

Not at Fox News.

The rule at Fox is to stonewall outside inquiries, and to close ranks around its rainmakers.

And, of course, to double down on its mission, described aptly by my colleague Greg Sargent: “Fox News is fundamentally in the business of spreading disinformation, as opposed to conservative reportage.” And that disinformation “is plainly about deceiving millions into believing that core functionings of our government — whether law enforcement or congressional oversight — no longer have any legitimacy.”

CCC if you believe that and don't mind the Polar Opposites of Fox News which are thriving as well then you are truly out of your mind.

Maybe you're actually a normal person who just likes online vandalism haha and you created a character

Well I know you believe everything that isn't far right is the polar opposite of Fox News. That's what Fox News has been telling you for a decade and you won't being changing your mind. They will keep pushing fear and tribalism. It makes them a lot of money and stupid gullible people will keep falling for it.

You believe anything you agree with. That is all that matters to you.

But the real danger is that so do you.

The  MSMs are businesses. They're shills. They're organs of the left. They're faces of the deep state. They're operatives of the deep state. They're 95% dems. But 'at the end of the day' they're businesses. And most are public businesses. They are fully exposed at this point as the shills that they are. They have no credibility. Operation Mockingbird has been exposed. There have been significant media layoffs. Their brands are sullied. That's the backdrop.

The MSM squawks like raped eagles. But who is listening? The top 100 newspapers reach less than 8% of the population. Traditional TV viewership is tanking across the board. We've crossed the intersection of traditional v digital media consumption. A lot of the value of 'traditional' media is that it is now circulated and referenced through social media. That's the real value of Facebook - reaching a ginormous audience that isn't nearly as accessible through traditional media.

'News' is originated then disseminated. The origins are diminishing in exposure and value - witness the consolidation of traditional media over the last decade; Verizon bought... AT&T bought... etc, etc.. The disseminators are increasing in value - witness the explosion of digital and social media over the last decade; Facebook, etc. Traditional 'news' originates in echo chambers and is disseminated over even larger echo chambers. But traditional news resonates to fewer and fewer as the left's behavior deteriorates. Non- traditional news has emerged in the form of bloggers, then a range of alternatives that are disseminated across the same social networks that 'carry' the shills.

But who does it reach? The left reaches the left. Everybody else ignores. We're about 60% conservative in core values and higher in some issues per the latest from Gallup. Infanticide redpills people. AOC idiocy redpills people. Leftist behavior redpills people. You saw the backlash at the 'Cohen hearing' while Trump was trying to fix the Norks.

The MSM operates in an ideological echo chamber, something that wasn’t AS true as recently as decade ago. The echo chamber has become an ideological bubble, and that bubble is growing more extreme daily. Bubbles always burst. Everyone acknowledges that Trump’s election was a spectacular miss on the MSM's part, and if the media doesn’t figure that out, it will continue to miss. They continue to miss. And worse daily.

Trump is a business man. OK, and so are Bloomberg and Steyer. Trump is not an ideologue. They are. Ideology resonates with the left, in fact it is the price of admission. It grates on everybody else. A Trump could be elected because he taps into the patriotism of Americans with no particular ideology beyond 'Make America Great Again'. The ideologies of the others antagonize them. Trump walks and breathes 'Make America Great Again'. He IS 'Make America Great Again'. The other businessmen ARE their ideologies. We saw this play out in the black and Hispanic votes in 18.

The MSM forecasted a huge blue wave in 18. In fairness, the not-MSM forecasted a red wave. Neither happened.
So where am I going with all this? I think this portends a more honest 2020 election, likely a red wave, and certainly a second Trump administration. At that point with all the recriminations in the rear view mirror, we can return to something of 'normalcy'. "Education' will continue its lunacy. Corporate America will adjust and pander to the 'normal' landscape. The MSM will follow corporate America. After all, they're businesses.

It's amazing how any one person could be so out of touch with reality.

The liberal mainstream media is the epitome of disinformation and lies, and equally disturbing is that they withhold information that is actually newsworthy  for two reasons...either because it would benefit Trump, or it damages some liberal ideology that they advocate.

Had the black and Hispanic and the general unemployment rate achieved historic lows under Obama, all you would be hearing 24/7 on CNN is how it took a black man to become Americas Lord and Savior.

Oh btw has CNN ever tried to correct itself here??

This is gold...An "if true" montage from the anti-Trump media.

The repeated utterance of "If true" in a news story tells you loud and clear it is not a credible news story ...therefore never should have been reported by these Trump hating vermin. The intent was just to get it out there...to plant uncertainty in the minds of the low information feeble minded or bolster the ill-gotten beliefs of Trump hating lefties.

You control the media, you control the people.

Bahahahaha.

You think buzzfeed is a good source? Just because Fox rarely ever admit their mistakes, doesn't mean they don't make them. Good sources always correct themselves. I see you repeating the same Fox News lines you hear 5 times a day. Keep living in your bubble.

Again you missed the point dimwit.  Buzzfeed is not a good source, yet the fake news source that you so blindly trust on ran with their story. Get it???

And no one ever said FOX doesn't make mistakes, but you're gonna have to try again, because this thread you started bashing FOX for fake news IS FAKE NEWS.

Daniels had publicly lied about the affair ever happening is why FOX didn't report it there wizkid.

The former Fox News executive said the story was not just sorely lacking in evidence, but noted that Daniels had publicly denied the affair and continued to do so for another year.

Ken LaCorte wonders why no one remembers that Daniels denied the affair before the election

2000x.jpg The former editorial head of FoxNews.com responded Friday to a recent accusation that the network intentionally held off on reporting Stormy Daniels' story in order to help President Donald Trump win the 2016 election.

Ken LaCorte said Fox News and numerous other outlets were aware of the rumors at the time, but insists it would not have been responsible to publish the Daniels story with scant evidence, especially given the fact that she had publicly denied having an affair with then-candidate Trump.

Daniels — an adult film star whose given name is Stephanie Clifford — reportedly accepted a hush payment from President Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, but later came out with her story anyway.

What are the details?

In an extensive report for The New Yorker, Jane Mayer claimed that, prior to the 2016 election, LaCorte spiked a story by former Fox News journalist Diana Falzone, who "had obtained proof that Trump had engaged in a sexual relationship in 2006 with a pornographic film actress calling herself Stormy Daniels."

Mayer wrote that Falzone's story was shuffled around between editors before being ultimately rejected by LaCorte, who was head of Fox News online at the time. Mayer cited an anonymous source who recalled Falzone claiming LaCorte told her, "Good reporting, kiddo. But Rupert [Murdoch, chairman of 21st Century Fox] wants Donald Trump to win. So just let it go."

LaCorte adamantly disputed Mayer's claims in an op-ed piece published Friday on Mediate, saying Falzone's story "wasn't a detailed investigative piece as the media has portrayed." The former Fox News executive said the story was not just sorely lacking in evidence, but noted that Daniels had publicly denied the affair and continued to do so for another year.

LaCorte called his unilateral decision not to publish the story at the time "a no-brainer."

"It was such an easy call that I never even informed my direct boss or anyone in management about it," he added.

In a scathing rebuke, LaCorte went on to slam Mayer and the dozens of media outlets who repeated her claims, saying "not a single reporter reached out to me. None."

LaCorte concluded by saying, "Journalists: these are the reasons why half of America believes Donald Trump when he calls us 'fake.'"

Blind trust? They tell their viewers the story hasn't be corroborate. But I hate to tell you, there are more choices than CNN, MSNBC, Fox out there to choose from. So find one that doesn't lie to you. You think posting one fucking story prove anything. Well here is a short list of the lies for you propaganda channel. (I could have pull baby cow and put pages of this shit)

Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich "apparently was assassinated at 4 in the morning, having given WikiLeaks something like 53,000 emails and 17,000 attachments. ... It turns out, it wasn’t the Russians."

"The president said he’s going to bring in 250,000 (Syrian and Iraqi) refugees into this country."

Says President Barack Obama’s recent New York fundraising trip "cost between $25 million and $50 million."

"Far more children died last year drowning in their bathtubs than were killed accidentally by guns."

"NASA scientists fudged the numbers to make 1998 the hottest year to overstate the extent of global warming."

LAURA INGRAHAM

"The 90 percent statistic of supporting background checks, that's been debunked."

"In countries where there are higher, more strict gun laws, there is more gun violence."

"50 percent of murders in Texas have been linked to illegal aliens."

No, Fox didn't report the story because they only push pro-Trump propaganda. Which is 80% of their programming now. Birth-ism, pizza gate, Seth Rich story, none were corroborated, all were bullshit and Fox ran with that shit as much as they could. Fox rarely does any journalism, they just push the White House's talking points. You can owe that your major source for news is nothing but propaganda, whenever you are ready.

So now that Cadet Bonespurs has explained to his GOP donors, that he really said "Tim Cook, Apple" really really fast and the fake news media is spreading lies about him saying "Tim Apple", do you guys really hear "Tim Cook, Apple" when you listen to the audio? Just curious how delusional you really are.

TDIMS have such short memories.

Fox News sued by parents of Seth Rich, slain DNC staffer, over conspiracy theory about his death

The May 2017 story stated, falsely, that investigators had evidence showing Rich leaked thousands of DNC emails to WikiLeaks in the midst of the 2016 presidential election, just weeks before he was shot to death in Washington. That story line — popular among conspiracy theorists and in far-right online groups — contradicts U.S. intelligence that Russia was behind the WikiLeaks email dump that damaged Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Fox News’s story fell apart quickly after the FBI pointed out that a “federal investigator” and “FBI report” referenced in the story as sources did not exist. The second core source in the story, private investigator and Fox News contributor Rod Wheeler, claimed the reporter fabricated his quote saying he had evidence of emails between Rich and WikiLeaks. He has since sued the network for defamation. (Fox News has denied all his claims.)
