Hot take or some truth in it? Personally I don't think Kitchens is coaching the mistakes out of Mayfield both on and off the field.

Probably some of both. The line I liked was the suuggestion that when you act up as a winner you are colorful. When you are losing it is not a good look. This might not be fair but Mayfield needs to understand the impact his actions have on his team.

Am not sourcing this..But Mike Florio did, 20 days after staff was hired...Some say Baker broke the tie between Dorsey & Depo on hiring Freddie as the HC...Oddly, they also hired Tyler Tettleton as a offensive quality control coach. Tettleton is from Norman,OK. Was on the Sooners coaching staff from 2015-17 & Sooner's won the big 12 all 3 years with Tettleton on staff. A pupil of Lincoln Riley, but not a Lincoln. Baker won the heisman in 2017 with Tettleton. Tettleton got promoted to the Jets while Baker goes #1 in 2018. Both were Reunited here 2019. Am seeing a QB that has a lot to be flustered about. Also with the weight of losing his coaching staff might be there too? Add a marriage,TV & not watching as much game film as his coaching opponents did on him.. Bake wants to win just as bad as anyone..Failing at it, is not what he knows...his teammates could also help with picking up their play with less flags & getting us back to some turnovers to flip the field to short field drives..And for the love of all redzone's? get the guy a 6'4" WR on the short field..not just small & shifty..

Thanks for sharing that MD!

Some random thoughts to add.  The road before Baker was 0-16 and winless in 2018 until he entered his 1st game with a 14 point deficit and WON it. He then went on to throw 27 TD passes (an NFL record for rookie QBs) on a team that NEVER won without him.  In a world where everyone wants to go from a crawl to a sprint immediately, the Browns went from 1-31 football to 7-8-1 during Baker's rookie season.  They were 7-7 in the games Baker played.  We could do worse. In fact, we always did...

Since then, we've changed Baker's QB Coach, hired his 3rd OC (Haley, Freddie and Monken), and let the OL coach go that had this line playing well while Baker got rid of the ball quickly and accurately.  My guess is we're not looking at an impossible fix unless we decide to do what TN did to Mariota (spot on analysis) by continuing to blow-up continuity with position/offensive coaches this team & QB responded well to.
