I think the dems knew they were throwing Biden under the bus with impeaching Trump but by impeaching Trump even if they didn't remove him from office they thought they could ding him up and make it more difficult for him to win in Nov. They were only right about one thing. When they threw Biden under the bus Hunter Biden became a household word and everyone can see the corruption. The Bidens were exposed for their corruption .Their attempts to harm Trump in Nov also backfired as Trumps approval went up 10 points after his impeachment. I think your assessment is spot on OBF. However from my POV instead of Biden getting thrown under the bus, some of us never Trumpers want to see Donald get run over by a bus- so Pence can run for president. What you guys just don't get is you can be a conservative and still hate Trump. Who would I vote for come November? Certainly not Sanders- or Warren. Probably won't vote for Trump either. Regarding the BOLD that's about all Trump has going for him, that and getting conservative judges on the Federal level.
