To set the record straight- Trump was merely parroting the general opinion of the populace at the time- this Chinese Bird flu isn't any big deal. That the USA is where we are can't be laid at Trump's feet. But I sure as hell can say the conspiracy theorists who have it in their heads this is all China's fault- are full of crap. I'll even go one step further Gorka- because you happen to be more reasonable than Cal. Even if this was a Wuhan Virology lab accident (and it wasn't, the molecular biologists have made a damn convincing argument this was pangolin or bat virus pool that mutated) when it initially got out into the human population- there was no f**king idea how easy human to human transmission was, or what the potential leathality of the virus was going to be. By saying it was not all Chinas fault do you mean in relation to them not having any idea how fast or how far it had spread? If so then you have valid points, but I believe that its release, most likely by accident is solely Chinas fault. COVID certainly wasn't a virus created at the Wuhan Lab and released intentionally, but I am not fully convinced that this virus had not escaped from there. The fact is that the Wuhan Institute of Virology is a virology lab and they do study bats and other adorable critters. This wouldn't have been the first time. In 2004 SARS leaked out of Chinese virology lab twice. As far as what China knew and when they knew it, I'm not sure what to think. So brings up the questions ..what did they know and when did they know it? Then there's Gorka... unsure about trusting the security of a Lab in Wuhan that until late last year was a place US virologists worked.
