If the Chinese immediately knew the extent of how easily the virus was transmittable- they would have started hording weeks earlier. Sure unethical, but if 3M was making N95 masks in the USA, do you think us Americans would have been so altruistic- we would have shipped damn near every one of them elsewhere? I seriously doubt it. Lesson learned I hope, shipping your business to China to save a few bucks is risky business. To my mind there's another serious flaw in Cal's logic. Based on the above- it's apparent China really didn't know and understand the extent of the problem until weeks later. By that time, hundreds of infected (and probably asymptomatic individuals) had left Wuhan on routine business trips. The horses were already out of the barn- it was too late. Lies and cover up for Cal who may be one of the few Americans that's got his panties in a major bunch over it? Damn right- to the vast majority of Americans (I'll hazard a guess at 95%+) this crap doesn't even rate as background noise.
