Is Watson the player an upgrade over Baker? yeah. Is Watson the person an upgrade over Baker? Hell no. If the Browns think bringing in Watson and doing the Ram's push all their chips into the middle of the table, is the ticket to a Super Bowl win, MHO is they're sadly mistaken....  Essentially, the Rams just gave up draft picks, it will cost the Browns a lot more than that.

Did you hear about the video of Watson that has leaked?

He's talking to some reporter "off the record" and bragging about how because he's a celebrity he can do anything to women and get away with it. That he can walk right up to a woman and grab their genitals and get away with it because he's famous.

Disgusting, isn't it?

A rather intelligent parallel.

Baffled by how completely tone-deaf this organization is.

Absolutely selling their souls.

Our society still has such a problem with sexual harassment and violence. Listening to sports talk radio this morning Harry Douglas literally just said “I think he can put this stuff in the past” and “the second chance is worth it”.

11 of these women aren’t asking for money. Think about that - half of these women who largely didn’t know each other are publicly declaring they just want justice for their abuse. And that’s a dude people think deserve to be a leader of men and a franchise.

And then you factor in he's gonna miss games this season... This team is beyond stupid...

Nah

- Watson accused by 22 different women starting in 2016.

- Trump accused by 25 different women starting in the 1970s.  (Including audio of his "grab em" and a proven wire transaction to an escort)

Zero politics on this, there is no ability to disagree.  If you endorse one you must abide by the other. I won't discuss it further because then you have to spin so much shit to make it logical in some peoples heads that I'm not willing to question my own sanity.

So...  yes.  A brilliant parallel.

As for Watson? No, no I am not.   If the claims and baggage weren't included I'd be dancing in the streets.  But they are, and that I cannot ignore. So not only am I not pumped, as I said in the other thread, were this my team I wouldn't entertain the thought.

no, it's a moronic parallel. There are far more reason to suspect political belligerence by public parties that tend to know each other and have political agendas....

watson's cases - all private, no agenda, didn't know each other.

watson never became a Christian, the other did. stop bringing in politics to this forum?

Speaking of parallels weren't some of you whining about somebody else posting politics over here?

But politics aside I don't think I'd be pumped if we were talking about trading three number ones a couple of number twos and cutting valuable players (and In fairness some not so valuable) for a 23 year old is Joe Namath.

My post wasn't political...  personal conduct has little do with with whether I agree with someone's foreign policy or not.  If a QB is to be held to a certain standard because he is a leader of men, public servants should be as well, no?  If you can't endorse Watson taking a job of such high profile because of personal conduct, then the other example with Trump must carry similar weight in regards to consistency.    Can't celebrate one while condemning the other.

Watson is immensely more talented as a passer than Namath.  As a person though? I would be inclined to agree.

1 bullshit but you can come over to the poly board if you want to defend it.

2 okay since you want to deliberately avoid the point pick any quarterback at 23 years of age. And sure hindsight gives us the ability to know if he will turn into a Hall of Famer or not. Or you could make it a bigger challenge but picking one today with no idea what his future holds. And one who has won exactly nothing.

1 - why would I walk over to that wasteland?  There's no discussion or debate that merits my time. Nothing to be learned or shared.  If I know exactly every move someone is going to make, I'm really not playing a game of chess, am I?  If I know what you, or anyone else down there will already say, to the point I could almost type it out for them verbatim, then it benefits me in no way.

If the face of any high profile organization - public sector, private sector, public servants, the NFL, etc etc is to he held to a standard, then it is only right and fair to apply that standard across the board.  That is the point and nothing more.  Again... not political.

You cannot celebrate one and damn the other. That's the last time I'll say it and the last I'll mention it here or anywhere else.

2 - I'm confused. You want me to pick a QB to trade for who hasn't accomplished anything and isn't a proven commodity?   Sure... Mac Jones.   What'd I win?

1 Why would you walk into that Wasteland? Because apparently you want to talk politics over here.

2 You're not confused so quit playing stupid. You decided to nitpick because I mentioned a young Joe Namath. ok I wouldn't trade this kind of assets for any random quarterback not Jimmy Garoppolo not Justin Herbert not Joe burrow not Aaron Rodgers not Tom Brady, even without the baggage. Even if it's proven that all 22 of those dames were lying.

Beyond that I think the front office and the coach are a bunch of snakes for handling it the way they have. And while territorial loyalty and winning  are important character matters as well.

Also something else for you to misunderstand or pretend to, if this move is made and it does not result in a Super Bowl championship then f*** these people.

You picked a team on the poly board and completely don't care what people do who wear the same jersey as you.  No different here.  You made politics a team sport long ago.

Don't like it? Suck it up, buttercup.  Objective reality exists.

The reason he doesn't Go To The Poly Board is because.. that board isn't good faith debate.

Unsympathetic please take this in the kindest and most respectful way possible.

You're a moron.

Hardly anyone there respect anyone else that ascribes to a different political view. But that's why it's there. To keep it off the Browns board.

I'm going to stop you right there.  I don't have the time to feign confusion. So when I ask for clarification, I genuinely mean it.

As for your mentioning of QB's.  I would gladly hand over those assets for Joe Burrow as would every team in the NFL who doesn't already have a franchise QB.

Edit: the post is on here somewhere. I said I would have given Cincy our 1st round pick and Baker before the 2020 draft.  Time has only further vindicated that assessment.

At least you're back to football. As for myself I would not give Cincinnati three number ones a couple of number twos and cut the cap space to make him the highest-paid player in the league. And he isn't even a scumbag.

So I guess that's where we stand.
