Eh..I guess it depends on how you define cool.

I loved the time some big D lineman picked him up and slammed him.  I believe it was way after the play was over.

Yeah, vs the Packers. McMahon never recovered from that cheap shot, basically ended his career.

McMahon who  wore #9 his whole career  had very few full seasons with 4 teams most notably the 1985 Bears era,

Injuries hampered his performance despite having Walter Peyton  and that tough "46" defense which produced ONE superbowl win and ONE funky team video.

* EDIT !  Even though Jim McMahon was with 6 teams he didn't really play at all at GB and  AZ largely due to injuries.   After his football life he had a lot of other issues like some other football players had.  Some of these guys were old men at 40+ but almost all of them would say that they'd do it again.

That Bears '85 team was the best "one season" team I've ever seen, they rolled everybody except Miami.

Theres a great ESPN "30 for 30" about it & Buddy Ryan that's truly worth watching.

Buddy Ryan was as colorful and controversial as they come... That whole family is a special kind of wacko you just gotta love...

Switch #12 Stabler with #12 Brady Freaky Friday style.  Stabler never gets hit and thrives while Brady cries home to mommy.  No 7 rings.  Just Pampers.

Take any of the quarterbacks from the 70s, 80s and more before all of the CTE facts (and NFL payouts)  which led to all of the new rule changes.

It goes beyond Brady all of these quarterbacks,  Brees and others playing at 40+ and putting up video game numbers would be nonexistent  !

Ask Bradshaw,  Namath,  Unitas, the Stabler family and more if this is true.  Can you imagine the numbers and SB rings they'd rack up.

Again this was about coolest #12 but big numbers can be cool too.   And Namath #12 and Joe cool #16 were my coolest.

Greatest team ever! '85 Bears... that 30 for 30 is great.

My #12? Joe Willie... The man defined "cool".

♥︎ Well the NFL Draft is just 10 days away from fun Las Vegas,  NV.

And our final wrapup of the coolest NFL QB to win the #12 it appears (alphabetical order) that  Namath and  Stabler pretty much have it locked up.

Now the most uncool to wear #12 the list is pretty long.  I'd start with Bob Greise or maybe  Jim Kelly.   I'm sure a few Rodgers or Bradshaw voters will pop up but there are PLENTY of others.   Your pick or picks ?

For me it was always Joe and Kenny... Guys who didnt wear 12 I thought were cool was Don Meredith And Roman Gabriel and I gotta put John Brody in there... They were just good guys that I liked growing up.
