And again I think the problem started with boomers. The World War II era generation that actually lived through the depression and the war wanted to give their kids more than they had which I believe made us, the boomers, unnecessarily soft and less responsible. College isn't for everyone, skilled trades are in high demand, and they can make a lot of money - But spare me with the constant "kids are lazy" stuff. Going on for all of human history. If someone can use their brain to make more money than skilled trades, and they don't particularly enjoy skilled trades (or maybe aren't even good at it), then why should you get angry that they didn't choose skilled trades? - Yes Mike, it is anecdotal. You don't just have to call it that. - I'd love to hear what that contractor is actually paying his guys. Aren't conservatives all about the free market? If workers are choosing a different career than these entry level skilled trades then shouldn't those skilled trades positions make themselves more attractive on the job market?
