Wow I couldn't believe this, a Facebook friend of my wife told her.

This is what I know now  -but-  he appears to be improving.    More later.

I remember that    MADDEN  NFL  12   cover, tough looking dude !   Hopefully his athletic build and conditioning will help him recover.

Amazing having two recent NFL players in the medical news.

^^ (still got that same jersey) ^^

Amen to that!   I still remember that season when Hillis and the Browns oline ran through NE's defense like it was paper.  It almost made us forget the winning QB was Colt McCoy and the losing QB was Tom Brady that day.  Brian Baldinger was so impressed he did a 10 minute segment he labelled "Smashing Pumpkins" which captured the widespread hat on a hat blocking (guys like Jedrick Wills aren't paid enough to consider) as well as the yards during/after contact eye candy.  If you had an insatiable appetite for smash mouth football - Hillis put on a clinic that day and Baldy captured it.  See how bad NE has clobbered us in recent matchups - it's a very fond memory!

Glad to hear he's off the vent and improving!

didnt he want running back money ? he would have been one of the best fullbacks in the league

He went coo-coo somehow.  He left to go home in the middle of a game because he had a cold or something.  Meanwhile Alex Mack played with appendicitis and had surgery the next day.  This is when Murmur was coach.  (Shurmur)  Then, yeah, there was some sort of a money thing that happened.  He fired his agent and inserted his brother as agent.  Or was it his brother was his agent and he fired him?   -  Again though, we're all hoping for the best for him.

I somewhat remember him wanting to retire soon after this big season and become a FBI agent?

Former NFL RB Peyton Hillis discharged from hospital

Former Arkansas and NFL running back Peyton Hillis was discharged from the hospital on Friday, about two weeks after he reportedly helped rescue family members from a swimming accident in Pensacola, Florida.

According to ESPN, two adults and two children were struggling in the water off the coast of Pensacola on Jan. 4 when Hillis and others rushed in to help. Specifics of what led to the incident aren’t clear, but Hillis was flown to the hospital via a helicopter and admitted to the ICU.

After initially struggling with kidney and lung issues, and being on a ventilator, Hillis was then released on Friday.
