  1. As I've said before, I'm still just puzzled a bit at this one. Let's be real, Hunt can and will be an upgrade to the back-up over DJ. But with this offense and style of play, a guy like Duke especially weeks 1-8 seemed like such a great piece of the puzzle. Nothing but love though, best of luck to the man.
  2. You would report the fraud to the police and it would be investigated, literally just the same as if someone stole your paper tickets and did the same thing. I'm not going to weigh in on the tech piece (i still prefer to print my airplane tickets), but this is a bit of a straw man argument. It's still very hard to hack advanced security, and I doubt seriously someone is clamoring to use that knowledge to catch a Browns game.
  3. Honestly, the reddit nfl streams cited by OP is exceptionally good quality for the preseason stuff (my educated guess is the NFL doesn't care nearly as much). Depending on your entertainment set-up, it's virtually painless to watch on your TV. If not though, it's extremely simple to watch on a laptop. The biggest thing is just being "savvy" to not click ads, which can numerous but easy to dodge.
  4. Wylie's disgruntled fired employee comments aside, my number 1 "concern" heading into the season is how Freddie leads the ship. I actually do have a lot faith, but there's SEVERAL examples of guys getting the HC gig to appease the QB and it not working at all. His rope is going to the shortest by far as well if things don't go the way we hope they do.
  5. It's funny because I remember thinking the exact same thing. Don't forget too that the Browns were in the midst of a play off hunt that year with DA, so that game had a lot on it as well compared to most December games. Crazy that was 12 years ago.
  6. I'll never forget this game, watching it with my dad and knowing Phil was somehow going to go out there and make 'em despite the nonsense weather. I'm glad to see this happening, beers should always be free for this dude in Cleveland. Just like JT, I just wish he coulda been part of some winning teams.
  7. Man, watching the HOF is always such a stark reminder of how wide the talent gap is even within the NFL from starters to 3rd stringers/camp fodder dudes. There were some rough looking plays and players out there starting in the 2nd quarter. I mean they still have more ability in their toes than I do in my whole body, but it's just crazy.
  8. Yeah, I don't go too far down rabbit holes but it's crazy to think about it from a literal stand point. It's amazing how many busts were sure fire guys in terms of data. I swear, there's a million bazillion dollars in breaking through the data to determine any correlations to what cause "busts" in what were considered top-tier dudes. I'm convinced there's something in there to drive the point of "despite great analytics, THIS is the red flag most busts had".
  9. Coleman was the first wide receiver taken that year too. Let that one keep sinking in. Also fun fact: the first 5 picks of that draft have all made the pro bowl, and 6 of top 7 (Ronnie Stanley is the outlier, but even he's still a nice player). That draft just hurts my soul.
  10. Me too. Early reports (for what they are worth) said Seibert is less than 50% in kicks and Greg hasn't missed. I thought Greg got much stronger as the year went on too.
  11. I'd also be interested in the kicking battle if there's anything interesting. I have a bit of a vested interest as Greg is a friend of a friend. Gut feeling though is that Seibert makes the squad, seems unlikely to draft a kicker that high without planning to have him on the 53.
  12. Just also wanted to say thanks man. Succinct, good content is so hard to come by nowadays with the click bait BS of the world. Keep it comin.
  13. He might, but he doesn't have the same luxury as McCoy did in the timing of his release. Teams filled up their cap space a good deal the past 2 months unlike when McCoy was on the market. McCoy wasn't coming off major injury bugs either as you said. He'll get a similar structure deal no doubt, I'd be really surprised if the max equals the same though (McCoy is about $10.5 million if he hits all his bonuses). We'll see, but he seems like a great upgrade that would come at a price worth the risk of re-injury. We definitely have the short-term cap for him too.
  14. I just don't get it with these guys. I was young and dumb, sure. But with literally 10's of millions of dollars on the line, why you out late at night to even be in the position? Go out for a nice ass dinner and play Xbox for the next 3 years FFS. It's their lives to live, but if I made a mistake like this dude I'd be at church 5 times a week. Potentially throwing away millions upon millions of dollars to show up at the club is just so dumb to me. IDC if this does end up being dudes goofing around, it's stupid. Zeke Elliott is another prime example of this.
  15. Sweet. The Browns Fan Facebook page started a rumor they sold out and people were panicking haha. I'm about 1200 miles away from Berea so looking forward to the updates.
  16. Good friend called the ticket center or w/e (don't know what exactly). Was told they were shocked how many people logged in and it just crashed the system temporarily.
  17. Yeah, might be right there. My educated guess (totally spit balling) is that Duke had some conversations about his role moving forward in the early off season with Chubb obviously earning top dog. The powers that be stated to him that he was definitely part of the plan, and then got blind sided with a guy like Hunt being signed (obviously to be the back-up). If I'm even around the right answer, I can't blame Duke. Rightly or wrongly, speaking out in today's NFL gets the players leverage (see AB) and may motivate the Browns to make a move, maybe not. What I feel very strongly about is that Duke is good enough to be a good role player on many teams in the NFL. If I got the vibe he (Duke) was the master mind behind everything, I'd feel differently. The part I just don't understand is that we got him on a pretty friendly deal with no cap savings. A trade would net a 5th round pick, at most. Why this team wouldn't see him as a great back-up for the first 1/2 of the season doesn't make sense, unless there is a injury or something weird.
  18. The organization has done a lot of things right, but I can't wrap my head around this Duke situation. Since he's been here Duke's kept his head down and been a good player. For him to be talking that way at mini-camp no less means they miffed him pretty hard. With Hunt out 1/2 the season, I'm left scratching my head on why we boxed Johnson out as has obviously occurred. I don't ever blame a player for wanting to get snaps on the field. Duke is an exceptional back-up, change of pace back who could bring a lot of value to many clubs like he has in Cleveland. Just odd the team has rebuked him, perhaps there's something we don't know about off the field?
  19. Further, while I would never defend Hunt's actions there was at least two sides to that story. I don't believe Hunt just went off on that woman, she was clearly acting belligerent and likely called him some racial slurs. Again, not defending the dude for attacking but there's at least some burden of action. Hill is an absolute piece of shit. He beat up and strangles a pregnant woman, had a lot of rumors of being a beater, and now clearly beats up on defenseless kids. If Goddell has a spine he deserves at least a two year suspension, if not permanent banishment.
  20. For sure, but they don't need to blue ball this much either. It's a big deal, but they try to make it a holy roller event for views which I think is a bit unfortunate.
  21. OBJ also wrote on Jamal Adams' instagram "see you week one". Won't believe till I see it, but it does make a whole lot of sense for the reasons noted. Have to admit though, I'd be bummed a bit to not get football Sunday started with the Browns.
  22. Obviously these guys want to play and get their full money, but: Can you imagine signing a deal that even if you get fired you still pocket $100k? One can dream 😪
  23. My strategy has been the same, ride the "anyone against (insert worst team)" until it's not possible to pick the same team again. I couldn't do that to our beloved Browns last year so it cost me. This year though, I'll be able to make till week 7with my "anyone against the Jets" plan.
  24. Always have a blast with this! Can't wait to take you losers down
  25. "Its the browns.. But hey, still pretty cool!" Yep, pretty much how we all feel.
