  1. I mean it was a blitz look, unless I’m sorry mistaken. Baker had a good 2.5 using my totally bullshit internal clock. Always hard to tell if dudes were open but, it wasn’t awful protection all things considered. I’ll be curious to look tomorrow. Will admit if I’m wrong.
  2. The line held up fine, honestly. Not ideal protection but not awful. Baker has to throw the football.
  3. I’ve been praising wilks but that was terrible scheme or awful defense by Mack, but I tend to believe the former. You scheme outside help but have Wilson play man on an obvious HB slant? Called that route from the TV. No bueno.
  4. I totally agree, but the TE honesty blocked well. The problem is having a TE block bosa on a vertical route concept.
  5. Even further proof taking the ball first is just dumb. Didnt they specifically say waving was taunting?
  6. Somebody needs to tell Freddie it’s not edgy to take the ball on offense first, it’s stupid. That ObJ play was dope though.
  7. What’s going on with Higgins? It’s really a shame he cant suit up. His injury didn’t seem serious at all.
  8. Eh, to me a "dirty" play is where intent is very important. For an easy example, the hit Burfict had the other week is the definition of a dirty play. Earl will likely get fined, but I didn't see a dude head hunting on that play. I'm not sure I see a "launch" there.
  9. I can easily admit that game was horribly officated, on all sides. As someone who is extremely vocal against how lousy the referees have been for several years, it's just another drop in the bucket. The Earl Thomas hit on Rudolph was roughing, but not sure I'd consider it dirty. I'm still extremely baffled they let the dude walk off the field though. It honestly look like he might have been dead (not being funny) as he was going down. I get that's what happens when you got out cold, but still. That's a serious miscue. I'm glad to hear he's doing okay though, that was awful to see. It makes you glad the NFL at least has the protocol in place to make sure he's cleared.
  10. The insane part to me is there's 0% chance that dude didn't fully realize how he said that. From "killed it" to "the new glove worked", there's just no way. To be that morose about something like that is just fascinating.
  11. Welp, I'm willing to eat some crow on this one. Anyone need a fork?
  12. Indeed what I was going for. Here's a fun tweet he just recently said:
  13. Well, unless I severly misunderstand the policies the deadline has passed (12 days prior to game), so this will be a 1 p.m. game as scheduled.
  14. ..Landry cleared concussion protocol, will play Monday. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/browns-jarvis-landry-cleared-from-concussion-protocol-will-play-vs-49-ers-154435527.html With hopefully Higgins back, Callaway returning, and Landry? Bless 'em.
  15. Eh, IDK about that. I mean any team believes in their guy sure, but it's probably just as much looking at the bigger picture. The Steelers have enough talent to not be a top 3 team in the draft (the dolphins aren't going to let the #1 pick sneak between their fingers either). Tua is the top prize this year and Herbert is probably gonna be a top 10 pick, realistically. I can understand this being a "lost" season, see what you have with Mason and from there see how much gas Ben has in the tank. I'm quite sure Ben isn't the type of dude to leave on an injury. If he sucks it up/isn't the same, the shiny prize of Trevor Lawerence may bring the tank to Heinz field.
  16. I'm just glad I haven't been to Vegas this season so far...oof on my picks haha.
  17. Thanks for the reminder. My "anyone against the Dolphins" strategy has worked in spades so far, but hopefully my updated "anyone against the Jets during bye weeks" plan holds as well. Like my chances this week with Philly.
  18. I sure as hell hope not. Having a West coast team come to the East coast for a 1 p.m. game is a clear advantage (the same being true the other way around). It'd be pretty unfortunate to lose that angle. 49ers v Rams is likely not to get flexed, Chiefs v Texans is a strong candidate. Further, this East coast dude loves his 1 p.m. games. It's awesome the Browns have some prime-time love, but we have enough. I think it's damn near criminal to be able to flex games in the first place, but that's just me. People spend thousands of dollars planning around an event.
  19. The child like excitement on the big Chubb run is all of us, Jim. Never change.
  20. I mean, nah man. He grabbed his jersey first sure, but then his hands went right to this throat for an extended period of time. Maybe it wasn't Homer Simpson strangling Bart level of hands on neck, but just because a jersey was between his hands and neck doesn't mean he wasn't attempting to choke the dude. Your head doesn't tilt back the way OBJ's did if he's on his chest plate. Marlon essentially admitted what he did and apologized. It's honestly pathetic journalism from the Ravens, and this isn't a "hurr Ravens suck durr" type of thing. That article reads like someone trying to explain how their business isn't a pyramid scheme. If you have to explain why something DIDN'T happen, it just did.
  21. I'm not sure anyone disagrees with you, I don't anyway. That argument doesn't really hold a ton of water though when you think about it. People steal from Walmart every day, but that doesn't mean the police shouldn't get involved if someone robs the place at gun point. Trust me, I've been in scraps on the field where spit and eye pokes weren't out of the question. I get it's part of the game But for Marlon to choke (read: strangle) an opponent in plain view is the equivalent of my example of a robbing a store at gun point. It went egregiously above the scrappy nature of football (of which I'd include blows being thrown). FWIW, I'd be saying the same thing if the situation was reversed.
  22. All I know is after the bye week (and the Patriots) the schedule looks like this: Denver Bills Steelers (x2) Dolphins Cardinals Bengals Before a home game against Baltimore. If this squad can just hang on (and watching last nights game), this division and the playoffs is there for the taking in the back half of the year. No reason to think this team couldn't rattle off 6 of 7 in that stretch.
  23. That sort of hit was dirty 20 years ago, let alone now with better protections for players. Lord knows I wasn't a prime time player, but I played enough football to know you tackle like that on purpose. I have no problem with the suspension at all, but I'd be surprised if the full season holds up. 8-10 games no doubt though.
  24. Fair enough, but this is where we just aren't going to agree. The plan has objectively worked, so why mess up a good thing? Obviously if we get gashed Monday night, the 1/2 time plan needs to be molded. But simply stated, if the defense with these dudes playing (which seems likely next week) play as well as they did the last two weeks we have a great chance to win. No reason to change that up.
