  1. For sure. It has nothing to do with being a "fan" and that's what pisses me off about this type of argument. I'll be a fan of Cleveland sports till the day I die. But I'm not going to watch some God 2-11 browns team to ruin my Sunday in December. To think that doesn't make someone a "true fan" is just plain dumb.
  2. I mean, nah. I don't understand why this is so hard for people to realize. Bernie represented an era where the Browns were a consistent, good football team. IDK when he said this, but let's assume it was after a tough playoff loss. The context of this statement is SO MUCH different than the Browns we've got in the 21st century. I'll be a 30 year old father (can't wait!) at the end of 2019 and I haven't been on this planet to see a good, consistent Browns football team. I'm watching nearly every week, but come the eff on with this line of thinking. Most people aren't stopping being Browns fan, but to suggest someone is a "bandwagon" fan because we're tired of watching a shitty product for 20 years? It's just an extremely moronic thought process.
  3. Well, I won't argue "better" but Lamar got schemed to be a pocket thrower last week and looked well below average in that department. If it weren't for some truly miracle throws (the kind they teach HS kids not to throw), he woulda been below 50% and what shoulda been a couple INT's.
  4. In all seriousness, KC gave a good blue print on stifling Lamar's hot start-make him a pocket thrower. Outside of a few truly ridiculous catches, The Chiefs controlled that game by making Baltimore keep the ball on the ground. Obviously they had a lot of success running the ball, but our defensive front seven is much more stout than KC's unit. With the great scheme Wilks rolled out last week, I'm hopeful we'll employ the same strategy. Offensively? I just hope Freddie gets beat over the head with what worked Sunday Night as opposed to what clearly didn't. I'm much, much less confident in that however.
  5. I was hoping we could get to the bye week 3-3 (I had "W" column for Titans, Jets, and 49ers). I think there's enough ability to "steal" a game over the next month, but 2-4 is a distinct, likely outcome unless things change in a hurry. Just wish we had the schedule set-up to have the Bengals or Steelers mixed in. The Pats in New England off the bye is a cruel fate. They do have a pretty good chance to take 3-4 in a row after that though (Steelers, Bills, Broncos and Dolphins).
  6. Simply, anyone who points this criticism is ignorant to the game of football. No reason to worry about their opinion, honestly. Exactly what I told my dad this morning. I get it's mesmerizing to look at KC and think "that could be us!". I can understand why Dorsey could have felt that way too given the set-up. It's reality check time though that this ain't it so far. I do still believe there's hope to this offense, but the whole game plan has to change. My worry is how stubborn most folks are to have their "plan" work, all while it crumbles around them.
  7. While it was one decision, that draw on 4th and 9 as I noted in the game thread was a game losing move. Really bad, really obvious poor decision by Freddie there. He did man up to it, but it can't happen again. More importantly, someone needs to get to this dude that while we got shiny toys, running every play as a deep shot, vertical offense isn't where this unit is right now. Baker I think was 8-9 through the 3rd quarter on throws 2.5 seconds or less. I get that the chiefs throw every pass 50 yards, but we aint that (or close to that) right now. If we keep up that attempt of scheme, we'll continue to see outings like last night.
  8. Atrocious play calling, but baker not feeling pressure correctly is quickly becoming a huge issue.
  9. Freddie sadly has a long way to go. I’d love go to hear his thoughts on running an all vertical route on your own 10 in that situation. Just stupid.
  10. That was a game losing decision there, wow. I almost hope that was bakers fault instead of that actually being the damn play call.
  11. Two questionable defensive play calls there on those Td plays. I called that play to the letter.
  12. I get that if he covering the tackle, but he was off the line. I thought notion is then legal? In that situation. thanks for the help.
  13. Can someone explain to me how that was an illegal shift? Being serious.
  14. Honestly, what a great job by this defense. No matter how the 2nd half goes they deserve a ton of props.
  15. If I see one more browns player get whomped in the head and no call I’m suing . I’m not gonna win but damnit they’ll answer me!
  16. Nothing like seeing your star defensive end get grabbed by the face mask on national television and see flag happy refs eat the whistle. Neat.
  17. On a solid early note, Baker looks much more in his element tonight so far. These quicker RPO looks are much needed.
  18. I’m just in awe watching Aaron Donald play this game. The best defensive lineman I’ve seen in my life, no joke.
  19. I think to this point, and what still makes me mad about week one, is that if you're going to "emphasize" that you gotta call it both ways. The Browns were extremely sloppy week one, but the 18-5 flag discrepancy was and still is unacceptable. Myles Garrett literally looked at the ref with his helmet almost off his head the ref just shrugged his shoulders. And obviously based on last night the Titans aren't some "disciplined" team. Point is and continues to be the NFL has a serious referee issue.
  20. For sure, my dude. I'm not being funny or dramatic when I say it's making the game unwatchable. the GOAT agrees with me too: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27655167/brady-turns-tnf-citing-ridiculous-penalties
  21. My worry is right now we have 7-8 dudes who will garner big time contracts. Ramsey I'd bet isn't going to play next season without a new, record setting deal. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, but we have too many good players who need that money over the next 3 years (potentially) for this trade to make sense. Agree this only makes any sense if we traded Ward/Larry O (would make me very sad) or even a Jarvis Landry. That doesn't add up, to me anyway. I know he has the 5th year option, but homie brought a Brinks truck to training camp. He ain't stepping on the field next year without a new contract.
  22. Just cause I'm still not over how reffing has been.. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/can-nfl-refs-do-what-analysts-never-could-get-coaches-to-pass-more/ They said as of last night holding is still up 70% from this time last year. I'm wearing my tin foil hat if anyone wants to join, I got a few extra. ...in all seriousness, that game last night was unwatchable. With yellow on the field seemingly every play (holding) and pouring down rain I didn't even make through the 1st quarter.
  23. Ward has quietly been struggling a bit this year, and it's been showing on tape. Greedy on the other hand is quietly doing very well.
  24. All I know is Baker should be checking in on Njoku as much as possible. This situation is squarely based on Mayfield making an awful throw to get Njoku destroyed.
  25. Play calling is tired and extremely predictable tonight. This is slowly becoming a pattern.
