  1. Speaking of playoffs, I'm sitting here watching the Bills vs Texans game and noticing all the former Browns doing well for other teams. Another nugget of joy, there are four quarterbacks in the playoffs the Browns organization have passed on.
  2. You know, it really doesn't matter what I or anybody thinks because the Browns will do what they always do and we'll be talking about this again next year. Well, you'll be talking about this. As I said, wake me when the nightmare ends.
  3. The Browns approach to finding a HC has always been throw something at the wall and see what sticks except NOTHING EVER STICKS. Just look at the list of candidates Eric Bienimy, Greg Roman, Robert Saleh, all the same see what sticks type of candidates. Not saying one of these guys can't be an instant phenom, but the odds are HIGHLY unlikely. McCarthy can bring stability, which is the first step of changing the culture. If they gave Hueless two years, they would have to give McCarthy at least three years minimum.
  4. It is a fact and you don't have to agree, that's the beauty of being an American. McCarthy may not be my first option, but he IS the best available candidate and somebody I would trust for the next five years to right the ship. I just find it amusing that there are some Browns fans out there that still won't give the man a chance even though he probably has more wins and less losses than all our previous coaches since 1999 combined. I am going to go out on a limb and say McCarthy can't be much worse than Hue Jackson or Freddie Kitchens.
  5. See, there's that insanity I am talking about (no offense) Let's just make it to the playoffs before we start talking about Super Bowls. I am not looking for Bill Belichick numbers, I would be happy if we can get the team to hover around 8-8, 9-7 range consistently. At least give us a chance to make the playoffs every year then a Super Bowl would be a bonus. McCarthy would get us to that consistent level to where all we need to do is add a piece here or there and we are contenders. Again, McCarthy has the resume to give him multiple years to build the team, you just can't give that kind of leash to some coordinator because the cycle will repeat itself. You have to crawl before you can walk and the Browns can't do anything at this point in time. McCarthy is the right coach at the right time. Hopefully somebody out there understands what I'm trying to say.
  6. I wasn't going to respond but I had to. This is why the Browns can't have nice things, judging a guy for stuff that happened with some other team. Two totally different scenarios, two totally different teams, people learn from their mistakes and grow. This is why I get so frustrated with the Browns fanbase, you're not willing to trust a guy like McCarthy with the proven track record he has but would be all for bringing in another promising coordinator because that has worked out so well for the Browns. Whether you like it or not, he IS the best candidate AVAILABLE. I don't want some college coach, or some coordinator from some successful team, I want a guy who knows how to run a team. Fuck, this franchise and fanbase is the very definition of insanity and it makes it hard to be a fan. As long as the Browns continue this same process they will be stuck in eternal purgatory. No thanks on that and I will be taking a break until they get a real coaching staff which will probably be never as long as Jimmy Haslam owns the team.
  7. I have taken a siesta from the Browns. I am tired of the same old get hyped every year, then the big let down. I'm tired of knowing what is going to happen before it actually does. I'm tired of the same old sloppy and undisciplined play every year and people shoving it down my throat that it will change and it never does. But most of all, I'm tired of the dumbass fan base that supports this garbage. Let me explain something, Jimmy Haslam is a business man and a crook so they are really one in the same. If the fans continue to line Haslam's pockets full of money, nothing is ever going to change. If you pay for garbage, you will get GARBAGE. If it isn't broke, it's not getting fixed. And from a business stand point, why would you if it's still bringing in money. Jimmy Haslam is like a drug dealer selling his product to a strung out Browns fan base that are desperate for a winner. This is your new Browns, the old Browns are gone, and things will never change until the fan base grows some sort of back bone and stops supporting garbage.
  8. Weren't the Haslam s minority owners of the Steelers? Could someone be giving the Haslams kickbacks to keep the Browns irrelevant? Not into conspiracy theories but no team can even accidentally be as bad as the Browns have been for the past decade. Boycott the Haslams.
  9. Which leads me to believe it's McCarthy. I thought McCarthy passed on the Browns once already? Maybe because of Dorsey?
  10. It did not equal to wins. And I'm guessing there may be a power struggle with the new regime whoever it may be.I really don't know, just guessing.
  11. I don't know what to think about this. He did increase the talent level on the team, but it did not equal to winning seasons. It is what it is I guess.
  12. I think the Browns have worn out the "hire the promising OC/DC coordinator from another team that is successful" McCarthy is the only real HC available and the resume to back up hiring him. Who cares what happened in Green Bay, Mike McCarthy isn't Hue Jackson, he isn't Romeo Crennel, HE ISN'T FREDDIE KITCHENS. Let's go down the road less traveled by the Browns and just hire a real coach and see where it takes us.
  13. My dad said he saw on the TV the Giants and Browns are to interview Mike McCarthy. This man has a resume that you can say " You have five years to build this team". Anybody else and we are having this conversation again after next season. If I am going to suffer as a Browns fan, then McCarthy is a guy that I am willing to give multiple years to, at least there is SOME hope that he can turn things around. So Mr. Haslam, if you want stability in your franchise, this is the place to start. If it is true that he will interview, do not let this man leave the building without a contract.
  14. He's the only viable option. Clear cut Head Coach with an impeccable resume. I can't understand why Jimmy Haslam isn't on his hands and knees with the Brinks truck behind him. I'm tired of ex coordinators with little or no experience at Head Coach.
  15. Let me ask you, if they bring in Mike McCarthy, why would anyone be afraid of a "housecleaning"? Are Browns fans expectations so low that even after a 6-10 season people would be afraid of a house cleaning? Besides, no matter who they bring in, our core players aren't going anywhere.
  16. Ding-ding-ding. No prior experience at any level. You don't get the keys to the car just because you had one decent season as OC. He had no business being a HC. If that's the case then I could have put an application in to be the HC.
  17. I could never understand this. You never let a talented player walk!! Even if you believe he doesn't fit what you are trying to do or just isn't in the future plans. Sign and trade! Get something for him.
  18. Mike McCarthy is still out there. I have said it before, he's a winner, has a proven track record in both regular season and postseason, has a Superbowl ring. The Browns will eternally be nothing but the doormat of the league until they get a REAL head coach. And if not, Rivera would be my second option.
  19. Like I said, it's often taken for granted to have a guy that's pretty much automatic to put points on the board let alone a guy the consistently did it on the shores of Lake Erie. People should not underestimate a man that won us many games and kept us in games during some of the worst times in Cleveland Browns history.
  20. With both Chubb and Hunt, would we have to drop someone to make way for a full back?
  21. To add to this years roster, who would they be? It can be from any era and the player would be in the prime of his career. My players would be 1. Joe Thomas 2 Ozzie Newsome 3 Phil Dawson 4 Eric Turner 5 Michael Dean Perry I could have easily said Brian Sipe or Otto Graham, or Jim Brown. But I am giving some credit to Baker since he has shown some improvement, and Chubb and Hunt are the real deal. I thought obviously we could use Thomas to protect Baker's blind side, Phil Dawson because good kickers seem to be taken for granted, MDP because you can never have too many quality defensive linemen, Eric Turner because he was a badass, and Ozzie to give Baker a reliable target. Let me know what you think.
  22. Exactly. Pittsburgh has always been a dirty team using cheap tactics and exploiting rules. KNOW YOUR OPPONENT. A well coached team would know this. But the NFL is losing me with the inconsistency. Five games for a man that stomped on another player's face resulting in stitches, but swinging a helmet is a big no-no for Garrett with an indefinite suspension and huge fine. Not to mention all the money he is losing from game checks. Not a good look for the league. Also sounds like he got railroaded.
  23. Don't speak for everyone because I have stated that I believe things like this should be handled internally. And it doesn't matter what team, if a Steelers player did this to Baker Mayfield I would expect the same punishment that Myles Garrett received. Again I am looking for consistency. I have seen worse things happen on the football field and they got off for less.
