  1. Before the wild card games, people were talking about how the Vikings might release Zimmer and promote stefanski if they got blown out because they love stefanski and didn't wanna see him go.

Now people hate the hire and Vikings fans couldn't care less to see him go.

Interesting how the rumors and perception changed.

  2. Our d-line really, really struggled. Any QB could have had a solid game with the time Hodges had every time he dropped back.

Our young corners need to learn to play the ball

    Redwine had some positive flashes

    As far as offense,

Baker looked pretty solid, but he was off the mark on some critical throws.

Baker got beat up pretty good and everyone is complaining about the offensive line (Hubbard did suck pretty bad) - but Pittsburgh has one of the best defenses in the NFL - especially their front 7

Freddie still does dumb things - like the awful game management at the end of the first half, getting the ball after a huge turnover on the Pittsburgh 38 and bombing it every play - run the damn ball Freddie.

Our run game was pretty solid considering how solid Pittsburgh's front is, seems like we got away from it way too early.

9-7 is still enough to keep us in the playoff race, but the odds are pretty slim. I didn't expect us to finish 5-0, but I really wanted them to win this one

  3. Garrett is an idiot and will get the longest suspension in NFL history for an on-field incident.

I couldn't believe it when I saw it live, and I had the biggest facepalm ever. Just get up there's 8 fucking seconds left.

Anyway, the Steelers are probably thrilled that they don't have to face Garrett in 2 weeks now.

  4. Pretty hard to pick the best ones.

    Three best: Mangini, Williams, Crennell?

    Worst: kitchens, Jackson, shurmur

Some like Pettine and chud are hard to judge because of how short their tenure was.

Crennell has had success in the NFL as a DC so that's mainly why he's in my list, even though he was a meh head coach.

Shurmur has also had some success elsewhere in the NFL, but he's in my worst because he was as lifeless of a head coach as you can get - shurmurball is something I won't forget.

Kitchens is also hard to coin as the worst one, because he's a rookie and has the potential to get better - but based on what I've seen so far he's the worst head coach we've had since 99', hopefully we can chalk it up as "growing pains" and he goes on to have a long and successful career for the browns though...

  5. I gotta put Freddie up there with worst coaches the browns have had since 99', maybe the worst - even Hue would have been better.

We took a Gamble and lost, it could have worked, but unfortunately it didn't. What we're seeing is more severe than simple rookie growing pains, the guy is clearly years away from being ready to be a HC.

Let it ride and cut our losses at the end of the year, I'd bet a case of beer on somebody else being named head coach come January.

  6. It's a good thing we hired Freddie as HC before another team could scoop up our "up and coming" offensive mastermind.

We really need to get somebody else calling plays immediately. I mean, you're inside the 10 yard line with 3 timeouts and 40+ seconds and you run an empty set 4 times in a row? That's not even something you would do in a video game. Obviously, the play calling has been bad in many other instances - but that's the most memorable as it cost us a chance to win the game.
