  1. Ratbirds will probably win it, which blows. The Vikings are serious underdogs, but I can get behind them. Their fan base is nearly as tormented as ours.
  2. I wouldn't play if it was based on point spreads, this format is much more fun (to me anyway). I always seem to suck at the "low value" picks.
  3. You're not crazy, and yes Baker needs to mature....mature meaning stop saying stupid stuff at the microphone. Some would argue McDaniels needs to mature as well. His stint in Denver didn't go well. However, although I wanted Josh Allen, I do believe Baker has the tools to be a winner. Throw in McDaniels, hey maybe he cultivates it to the top. The key to me is does McDaniels have a Defensive Coordinator in mind, that will attack? Our offense should be an easy fix, defense, well not so much.
  4. Bill Cowher's content with tv.
  5. He might. It could depend on the heat he's getting from the alumni association at scUM. I do think he's a good coach. Turned Stanford and the 49ers around, not sure why he struggles in the Big 10. If he does come toCleveland, bring Peppers back here please. We need guys who like to tackle.
  6. Nice. We're stomping all the communist SEC groups lol. scUM vs 'Bama today. I picked 'Bama so scUM will probably win it. Safe travels. Nothing says "Capitol One Bowl Week" more than the Belk Bowl. #woof
  7. Because he was Elway's back up, and Karlis Missed. Denver is 1e on my hate list: Balt Pitt Cincy Tenn (nee Oilers) Denver 2) entire NFC East
  8. I remember that game. It might have been Eric Turner who stuffed Novacek at the 1 yard line on a TE slant as time expired. I think that game clinched a playoff berth too. Late December. *Last time Browns played Dallas in Dallas, I was there. Brandon Weeden Weedenized, threw the ball away on 4th & 3. Then Buster Skrine got called for PI about three plays in a row. 23-20 Cowboys in yet another game the Browns threw away. We did travel for a Thanksgiving game to Dallas, with the "great😕" Paul McDonald and got killed back in the 80s. Also, it seems there was a scheduling error, we have the Raiders instead of hideous Denver now. Go Browns
  9. Bring the candidates in. Show them a 1986 highlight tape. Show them proper CB technique, Dixon & Minnifield. Show them Clay Matthews, Mike Johnson, Felix Wright. Show them how Marty took Puzzoli off the field on 3rd and 19, went prevent for 98 yards. Show them Mack & Byner. Show them what a slant pattern is, to WebStar. Show them the Ice Cube on kick returns. Show them a 1994 highlight tape. Show them the fundamentals of tackling. Show them fundamentals of play-action, play fakes. Show them Metcalf's two punt returns vs Pitt in 1993. Show them the passion Cleveland has for football. If the candidate(s) balk at any of this, they're OUT. IT'S NOT THAT HARD my goodness I just don't get it.
  10. BB was certainly NOT my favorite Browns coach. However, he was building something after turning over the roster from the Bud Carson years. His biggest problem here was cutting the icon Kosar, and his (still) reluctant tone with the media. Years pass, we look at things from a different perspective. Yeah, he's shady, most likely a cheater. But he somehow has a knack for recognizing football players and their skill set in a salary cap era, that no one else seems to do as well. #1 defense in 1994, just couldn't beat Pittsburgh. Then, well, you know....
  11. I think the rotating schedule is and has been a brilliant move by the NFL. The AFC South games have never excited me at all. Sure, Nashville is a nice spot for a road game, but nothing seems like a rivalry. The Colts would be a good fit in the AFC North, but it's not going to happen.
  12. Washington, maybe Cleveland. Why am I thinking about "One Flew Over the Cukoos Nest?" Lol
  13. Reluctantly yes, I'm rooting for LSU. I hate Clemson and Dabo. No class. At their home opener a couple seasons ago their band did a "Script 31-0" to mock tOSU (instead of celebrating a national title, they went full-a$$hole). And yes, while Woody Hayes had some psych issues, it was Clemson who baited him at the Gator Bowl in 1978.
  14. Best post on Earth, ever. I literally LOL'd. Thank you!!!!
  15. The Browns job is an attractive one. Yes,there's headaches with some of the egos, most likely headaches with the owners. And IF it's Freddie or another coach, no way it will take 3-6 years. You see, the NFL Salary Cap era is designed to promote parity, and it's almost like playing fantasy football. All teams have to make the proper decisions on personnel, and they all make mistakes (well, except NE for the most part). So you're not entirely wrong about the Browns making too may changes. To his credit, Haslam realized he did that too much initially, then he kept Hue too long. What you are wrong about is "leaving the fandom." You invested the time, why leave in a crappy 12 year run?
  16. I wanted Josh Allen, but I do think Mayfield is a decent QB. I think he's always going to take chances, and throw picks. I do hope he learns to quit answering every question asked to him at these press conferences. Relax Baker, and quit being cocky, Cleveland fans don't care for that.
  17. No. I always want my favorite team on Earth to win.
  18. Hard to argue, but I will: I think these franchises warrant ridicule, but don't get it because it's NOT Cleveland.....Sacramento Kings (KC-Omaha Kings, Cincinnati Royals), San Diego Padres, and the Detroit Lions. The Arizona Cardinals have had moderate success in the last 10 years only, with a Super Bowl appearance and one of the greatest of all time in Larry Fitzgerald (and Kurt Warner for a brief time), otherwise they'd be worse. The Browns are akin to the Toronto Maple Leafs- both franchises have a huge fan base, and a history of(ancient) success. It effing bites for sure. It's hard to be so lousy for so long in a salary cap era.
  19. Merry Christmas. I'm trying to find my 1986 Browns highlights tape. I did find a good bottle of bourbon to go with my smoked brisket. Woof woofs.
  20. McDaniels is a great mind, but I wouldn't trust him. Didn't he back out on a team recently, after a verbal "yes?" Yep....he backed out on Indianhapless in January 2018.
  21. Yeah I agree. OBJ is a huge distraction. He's not going to change his ways, no matter what team he's on.
  22. I seriously doubt a guy with heart problems would want to go to the NFL, especially here with the prima donnas on the roster. If he does come here, we'd win but he wouldn't last long. He'd burn out like Vermeil did in Philly.
  23. Happy for Kent St. ....but I took Utah St for 41, ouch
  24. The Patriots should be punished and moved to London for two years for the Spygate 2 crime. Have Kraft pay for the season ticket holders flights and lodging. Now that would be a punishment. Losing a draft pick and a million bucks isn't going to make a difference in their ways.
  25. I put a "Kosar" on Buffalo to start!! Go Bulls for 19 points.
