  1. Firing a legendary coach isn't a good look. Does it work? Yeah, short term as in your example, or Jerry Jones's firing of Tom Landry. Both teams won titles, but certainly tarnished their teams reputation by doing so.
  2. Nope. The sad reality is Art tarnished the once reputable franchise by firing Paul Brown. Outside of around a dozen seasons since 1964, our favorite team has been lousy. Like Gipper said, bad owner/management decisions. Tagliabue making sure to stick it to Cleveland by putting the Ratbirds in our division. The inability to dig out of the doldrums is maddening for sure. It sucks, but I'm still here, still will buy season tickets again. The Browns are and always will be my favorite team. Outside of the 3 hour debacle yesterday, Phoenix was fun.
  3. CBs have a tough job. Some of it depends on the pass rush, which the Browns are struggling with, especially with Garrett out. Athleticism in coverage would include contact IMHO. Something he tends to avoid.
  4. I like Redwine in the little he's played. Greedy & Ward should be studs, but they aren't. I hope it's due to the lousy scheme. Right now, these guys have little interest in tackling.
  5. Yeah that pic was from Picacho Peak State Park. This one from Sedona @Dry Creek trail...
  6. Lol yeah plenty of free time. Heading to Sedona now, I've never been there. If I start a Gameday thread, it could be a neutral zone infraction😬. Can't over step fellow fans' territory. I'm thinking the Browns will have to score a bunch to win. How about getting Chubb & Hunt involved in swing passes/ screens and Jarvis doing his thing. Baker to our favorite hyphenated guy, Seals-Jones, for the W in the 4th Q. 37-33 Browns woof woofs. I think I saw Wilks' defensive playbook blowing away on this trail😊
  7. I understand that a bit.We decided a long time ago we were coming out here no matter what. Obviously it helps when one of my 3 sons lives here. We're out here for a week. Walking around yesterday, there was quite a few Browns fans here already. I brought 6 Browns t shirts, my jersey, 2 Zubaz pants and a sweatshirt. All I'm wearing is Browns gear, with a Tribe crooked C baseball hat. I'm worried they can't contain K Murray, but we're going to have fun no matter what. Plus, we have a great tailgate planned.
  8. I know you like to travel, so do I. Just my two cents, enjoy Yosemite for several days if you can. We went there on our 20th anniversary for a week, and loved it. Yosemite, Glacier, Bryce Canyon, and Arches are my favorite National Parks. Go Browns. It's a nice 65* and I need to grab some IPAs now lol.
  9. Agree. I'm so sick of that towel, I can only handle watching Pitt twice a year vs the Browns. Diagnosed with Black & Gold disorder. I can't even watch Iowa or Mizzou.
  10. Tomlin has been on the hot seat before, but this season validates his worth to the franchise. I hate writing that. I was wrong....Big Ben just heaving it, hoping for a miracle catch or pass interference was their mantra, along with cheap shots from their defense. Now they execute better than the Pats, and continue cheap shots. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them win at least one playoff game.
  11. My hate for the Steelers runs deep, but face it, an uninspired Browns effort blew it last week over there. I'm heading to Arizona, first visit to that stadium, with family and friends. The way our D is playing, Kyler Murray could have a field day. I sure hope not.....have Takitaki spy him all day long. GO BROWNS!!
  12. Haden should have been a Browns lifer. The concussions soured the coaching staff (Hue). Too bad, it did seem he loved Cleveland.
  13. I'm hoping Freddy learns. Either somebody lit a fire under him at halftime, or he had a epiphany. They ran ran ran and it worked in the 3rd Q. Went against the Freddy pass happy stuff. I'm happy they won. To your point, we can "what if" around here all we want. The list of coaching errors is loooooong. Kyle Shanahan would look great here IMHO, but Farmer and Haslam blew it. All we can do is hope they got it right with Freddy....doesn't look great right now, we will see....
  14. I'm still crabby about Ward & Greedy in Pittsburgh.
  15. Love your optimism, but the Titans are rolling since dumping Mariotta for Tannehill. They're averaging 29 points a game in his 7 starts(yes, some of that is they have great special teams). Vrabel is highly under rated as a HC. The guy is a motivator.
  16. Fair point, however if these guys are pros, they should be able to handle additional responsibilities/assignments. Denzell W and Greedy W aren't 3rd stringers as you know. They were horrendous in Pittsburgh, on numerous plays. Guys who are supposed to be difference makers, guys who coaches want to count on. We all have had bad days at work. Maybe a coworker tells you to bring some energy, positive energy your next shift. The difference is mostly all of us here don't have our performances at work on tv. Sorry, it's Thursday and I'm still pissy about that game. Our favorite team lacks heart, outside of about maybe a dozen guys.
  17. The defense had absolutely zero heart in Pittsburgh. The entire secondary should donate their game check to charity, like a food bank. The Wilks 4-2-5 relies on a solid D line and secondary. LBs need to cover tons of space. I don't hate on Wilks but perhaps when your down several D starters, and your secondary is allergic to tackling, how about scrapping your system, and put football players out there who want to tackle. Schobert, Takitaki, & Wilson are keepers at LB. Play a dam 4/3 the rest of the season.

    RELAX

Yes, it does. I'm not trying to be an a$$, but certainly our fan base has been more than patient. It takes time, but it also takes HEART. HEARTLESS performance in Pittsburgh (not by all players, mind you) is why I'm not relaxed. It was truly a pitiful, pitiful effort.
  19. I agree to a point...the Browns are short-handed too and he never mentions it. Browns had a JV front and secondary. Our o line can't pass block consistently. Dorsey has a big big problem. Hate to say it, this team just lacks football intelligence. Who cares how talented you look on paper. That was a disaster today.
  20. Well lots of good names already. After today's game, give me guys who can WRAP and TACKLE. Our DBs look like human pin balls out there, it was awful to watch yet again, so here I will add: Thane Gash, Felix Wright, Clarence Scott, Thom Darden, & Al Gross. THESE GUYS COULD TACKLE and COVER. I just don't get why the basic tackling fundamentals don't apply today. And it's not just a Browns problem, it's an NFL problem. Yeah, that's why we lost today IMHO. CYO kids tackle better than these guys.
  21. This. Yeah, I hate those guys with a passion but you have to admit Harbaugh adjusts to his team's talent, and doesn't force a "system" all the time.
  22. That game was awesome. 1989 was a crazy season.
