  1. Weird things happen to the Browns in Pittsburgh, and yeah, I suppose the past isn't supposed to matter. I expect a tight, low scoring game. Right now, the Browns look like the better team. Browns need to stay composed. Make a play, get back in the huddle. Don't showboat...just quietly kick their a$$.
  2. I look for the girls with the smallest hands😁
  3. Yep. If I remember correctly,Browns safety Donnie Rogers intercepted Marino and was going all the way for a TD, and got tangled up on his own feet around midfield. Probably would have clinched the game. Nothing could be finer than to give to Mack & Byner. 1985 was the beginning of a great run, that always came up short vs Horse Teeth.
  4. Agree, but I wasn't talking about ranking the sadness. I was talking about nerves. We weren't the better team in either of those playoff meetings, but should have won both.
  5. Ever since we blew a playoff victory in Miami in 1972 vs the undefeated Dolphins, EVERY dam Browns game makes me nervous😁
  6. Yes, for the most part. Definitely hard to conjure up rivalries, as they tend to happen over time. The NFL tried to force feed a Browns-Ratbirds rivalry, for instance. Funny you mention the Lions-Browns rivalry. My dad told me growing up that I wasn't allowed to root for the NYG, Eagles, or Lions. Being the good boy I was, I didn't and never will. I passed that on to my three sons, who are grown and relocated. They also know not to ever root for Balt, Pitt, Cincy, Tenn (nee Oilers), Den, and the entire NFC East. Yeah, I only have a problem with about 27 NFL teams lol. GO BROWNS
  7. I have a hunch there will be a proposal to go to a 17 game season. The 17th game will be an International one, say England, Mexico City, & Canadian cities for starters. If agreed upon, then ALL teams have to partake, and have a BYE the following week. I don't like it either, but commie Goodell gets his way (and the other commies like Kraft, Jones, Kroenke, and Kahn). Then in their Czar-like ways, they can force the Packers to go to London for the first time. In return, the preseason gets reduced to 3 games. The players don't necessarily "win," because they still have 20 games. But the stars seem to be sitting in at least two anyway.
  8. Worst three: Well this is easy for me. I still say Pat Shurmer is by far and away the worst coach in Browns history by a mile. He single handily ruined our Christmas Eve in Baltimore 2011. 2) Butch Davis got us to the playoffs, but somehow fell in love with Kelly Holcomb over Tim Couch. So he's polarizing to me. Throwing for over 400 yards vs backup secondary players, and losing the game shouldn't get you a starting gig over the guy who got you to the playoffs. 3) Hue Jackson wasn't very good, but I give him a little break because of the intended tanking operation. I still say we should have beat the Vikings in London to avoid 0-16, but Hue abandoned the run. Best three: 1) Chris Palmer- he only coached 32 games, but beat Pittsburgh twice. He understood the rivalry. 2) Butch Davis- see above. Was a good coach, fell victim to Holcomb mania instead of beefing up the offensive line. 3) Greg Williams- cleaned up all the stupid penalties, inserted a proper LT, and damn near got us to the playoffs. Chud Romeo, Mangini, and Pettine were decent coaches. Ownership meddled, GMs screwed up. Thanks Jimmy and Farmer, stupid-a$$ Kyle Shanahan is building a dam good team in Santa Clara.
  9. Agree. Sadly its nothing new with them. Being good is one thing, lucky and good is another thing. Pisses me off that "our QB becomes a runner and is therefore allowed to be hit in the head," for example, while several of Goodell's darlings get all the breaks. Ok, I'm getting fired up, time to put the coffee down lol. GO BROWNS
  10. Agree to a point, but we still struggle to score. It's not all on him. The Squealers game will be a toughie, no doubt. Their D is playing well. Can Baker and the Browns make enough plays to win? Sure hope so.
  11. Yes, you'd think if Myles is getting double-teamed someone else would step up.Then again, in the Wilks 4-2-5 there really isn't a blitzing LB. It's kind of a bend-don't break defense IMHO.
  12. We'll be in the lot near the Flat Iron tailgating. My wife and I celebrating our 33rd anniversary and hopefully a Browns win #woof
  13. Their offense is very average, but sadly our Browns fall victim to misdirection plays. Allen isn't great, but play-fakes well, so that's a concern.
  14. I wonder if Whitehead took the wrong angle to the airport.
  15. Damn, wrong again. Today is the darkest day of 2019, to me anyway. Losing to a supposed inferior team with a rookie QB. Damn Freddy, I've been in your corner. There's things that may not be your fault, but you HAVE to kick a FG on the road and get points. SOB, that's going to get you canned. Karlis Missed
  16. Good post Zombo. Yeah, I'm frustrated with 2-5 but a win in Denver keeps the hope alive. Damn, for us addicted fans there's always a glass-half-full outlook. Browns 27 Horse Teeth 12
  17. Yep, and it shouldn't happen. He does have a lot to prove. But looking at the last 2 games in particular, the Browns played better overall, but shot themselves in the foot with penalties and ultimately turnovers. The penalties, if not drastically reduced, could be Freddy's downfall. Me- I'm sick of crappy football. But what's yet another "wait til next year" at this point? So effing used to it....
  18. I agree, but so many have. I can think of several playoff games where that was the case. Quite a few in the "replay era"
  19. I'm in the opposite corner. I think the crappy officiating is related to instant replay reviews. Calls have always, and will continue to be missed. It's the "unreversed" calls or "reversed" calls that have everybody up in arms, more than ever.
  20. LSU #1, which is fair enough. They've beat 3 really good teams so far. The thing I don't understand is Georgia at #8. They lost at home to an under .500 South Carolina team, and are sneaking back up somehow. I think both LSU and 'Bama will make the playoff, past precedent in play (I don't agree). Weird thing is if Georgia wins the SEC East, and somehow wins the SEC Championship game....then what? I shudder to think.
  21. Yes, they're cursed. Mainly though, they can't get out of their own way.
  22. I think the o line played well today, and vs Seattle, Baltimore. It's maddening watching the same stupid penalties, same stupid turnovers. Chubb, of all people ouch..I feel bad for him. .
