I'll say this, if we don't figure out our red zone offense, we won't win this game and many others this year. I'm not sure what changed from last year, but we're really struggling. Penalties, ugly plays, inefficient pass formations, failed 4th downs, and whatever else...we aren't scoring the ball inside the 20's.

Where are our easy TDs? Every week I watch the NFL and there are simple plays which score. It seems like an act of God for us to punch it in, which is why Baker has only 8 passing tds. Pats have a terrific defense. If we get to the red zone, we need touchdowns or we don't win.

The play calling in the RedZone hasn't been good at all. It's like a one read to a WR and the scramble drill. Last week Landry went out on a slant and fell over and that was basically the entire play. He had to throw it away.

I don't understand why Kev overthinks it down there. He rarely gives it to Chubb inside the 10. I know when Hunt out (which is usually the back in that situation) but run the damn ball. One read jump balls aren't really effective.

I think the last easy RedZone play was the Bronco game when they went play action and threw to to a wide open FB.  Seems like that play should work almost every time with our run game.

My only concern about Johnson is catching the ball.  He is a little shaky there.

I thought that too. Yet they always have him out there on passing downs. Obviously filling the Hunt role, but before last game I can't remember the last time we threw to Nick. Outside of the Chiefs game last year. I remember his rookie year he made an unbelievable TD catch...

  3. What are we doing at WR this week?I think JoJo is the only practice squad guy we have (Bradley out and Cager on COVID list)

    Edit.

Nevermind, looks like Bradley is good to go (I thought I read he was injured) and signed to active this week.

Id like to see this Cager kid. At 6' 5" he'd be interesting

Yes nickers- I know we should have royally screwed him over, and sent him to the Lions. He totally deserved it after the bullshit he pulled this week. However, take the long view as to how other players in the NFL would see Cleveland as a potential landing spot had we done so.

All I can say is if Berry paid him 7.5 mil and then let him go free to basically sign where ever he wants to play against him, he must not be worried to much about his abilities.

Reminds me of that scene in Moneyball when Billy Beane is talking to David Justice in the cage and David Justice cops and attitude and says, "You're paying me 7 million a year, so maybe I am special"

Billy Beane says.... "Nah man, I'm not paying you 7 million. The Yankees are. That's how much the Yankees think of you. They are paying you to play against them."

Wonder why all these national media outlets think he is in the same category as those other WR's?

Watch Berry's press conference he said something that stuck out. "The Offense is set up to throw and take advantages of the miss matches. That why we have so many different receivers that get the ball and why each game has different leading receivers"

My feeling after hearing that and seeing Berry pay the guy 7.5 million to play against him the rest of the year is he doesn't think Beckham is anywhere close to tier one.
