Finally....done with the horrble DW deal
I cannot argue that to this point it's been a bad deal. The league suspended him for 11 games, robbing us of season 1. Then he hurt himself while trying to run over defensive players, robbing us of season 2.
We fans don't give much of a crap about the money he's being paid (though it affects the salary cap)...but we do care about not having three 1st round picks AND not having him able to play in games.
Having said that, I had soured on Mayfield. I felt like he wasn't good enough and that we were stuck with him. There was nobody in sight to draft...even if we traded to the top of the draft. Therefore, I felt that the Browns brain-trust felt the same as I did. So, I cannot fault them for doing it. I can say that I'm disappointed in how horrible the trade has been to this point. I can blame the league and Roger GoToHell for changing the original ruling from 6 to 11 games of suspension. I can blame Watson for acting like a dope and taking on tacklers instead of sliding. But I can't blame them for doing the deal.
Finally, the fact is that the deal IS NOT done. We still have the QB. The 'deal' marches on for as long as we have Watson. But we're already 2 years in the hole. He's going to have to be a better QB than Mayfield was for the next several years for the deal to be deemed beneficial.
^ Just wanted to quote the one good post in this prototypical BB thread so it can be seen again to all of those who missed it.
It is nice having the draft debt finally paid off so the Browns can get back to making the utmost out of their 1st round draft picks. This season will be the make or break for Watson and he either will or he won't and if he does, then it just might have all been worth it. If he doesn't, there's not a doubt in my mind the Browns will tap out and move on.
I won't be surprised either way and September is going to tell us a lot. If he's under center on opening day then that should put his health questions to rest, but if he's not then all bets are off.
All that being said, I'm far more worried/excited/apprehensive about Chubb than I ever will be about Watson.

Yep, Fuzzybritches was Rachael Welch.
I have seen that movie well over a dozen times and it remains as one of my all time favorites and I'm not being obtuse either.

Actually the Browns went 11-6 last season.
If you were anything but a troll nowadays, you might have actually noticed and enjoyed it.
But hey, keep making the same pink font joke for the millionth time.
Hey it's Regina George doing what she does best! You know, quoting other people's posts and then attacking them for their opinions all while pretending to be some kind of Browns Board police.
I'm too busy these days to log onto this site like I once did, but when I do I want to settle down and read a few threads but there you are, on every single one of them making fun of other members' comments with very little else to add.
Whilst my pink font jokes may have gotten old, your endless snark and constant personal attacks of other members and their opinions makes being a part of this forum absolutely no fun.
Maybe try less meat for a week or two to see if that will help your obvious constipation.🤣

What do you mean by the Wilson treatment?
I'm guessing he means admit your fuck up and move on.

What a disappointing headline.

It looked stupid to me. I guess they didn't want anyone to get hurt.
I know some posters blame qb's for getting coaches fired, so this is for them:
Breer: Browns fired Alex Van Pelt because ownership, Paul DePodesta weren’t happy with Deshaun Watson’s progress
While AVP was the first, he won't be the last that Watson gets fired..... maybe even those that are currently doing the firing.

In California, the only thing worse than a 9er fan was a Raider fan. I picked them to win the SB, but I'm not happy about it solely because of their douchebag fans.

I always feel bad for the players in games like these.

Somewhere Brandon Staley is saying "Great calls Dan, I would've done the same thing".
-
Pressure is such a beotch. Goff's WRs suddenly have hands made of stone and everyone is waiting for someone else to make a play.
-
Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but man I would've kicked the FG. ASSuming the FG is good, that would've meant that over 1/2 of the 3rd quarter was for nothing as both teams scored 3.... advantage Lions.
I'm getting a bad feeling about this game from a Lion's POV.

Meh. Just a hire to replace a fire and is nothing more than a lateral move. Hopefully he can work some magic with the QB position.

If before I left for 5 weeks in mid December someone would've told me that a team will make the Super Bowl for the 1st time in their history, I would've bet everything I had that it would be the Browns.

But I'll take Swifty over that Klingon Brittany Mahomes any freaking day.

Damn impressive what Detroit has built, from Dan Campbell to their draft picks and trades. I'm really pulling for them to finish this thing off in the 2nd half.

I was so conflicted as to who I hate more in this game. On one hand, it's the Browns v1 but the other it's Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift.... I just hope that either NFC team destroys KC.

If he isn't as good as the potential super bowl winners in year one, then he's a gigantic disappointment
Good thing there's no pressure... Haha
Harbaughs thrive under pressure, just ask them. He's about to have the best QB under center that he has ever had at any level and it's going to be interesting to see his offensive design philosophy. His raw, raw will be effective immediately for a team that has suffered under Staley but it will only remain effective if he wins.
Me personally? I think he does really well and does so from week 1.
Browns (not) cutting Chubb

Man do I like Nick Chubb and not just the dude under the orange clothing, but the man himself.
As a 56yr old who has had many injuries and subsequent surgeries in my younger years as a motocross racer and now lives with the consequences on a daily basis, I hope the current Nick thinks a lot more about the future Nick because he is going to pay for it, like it or not.
While I selfishly want to see him back on the field, I really hope he has someone in his corner preaching about the big picture and what really matters in this life and football ain't it.
