  1. Ok, I guess we don't want to run it more when starting the 11th string QB. Interesting strategy.
  2. Ya know, for having such a great defense, we sure get torched in every road hame early. This is what happens when you play a competent thrower of the football. Need to respond, but when you have 3rd and 4th string qb's playing, especially on the road, you can't keep giving up first quarter touchdowns. Happened against Seattle, San Francisco, Indy, and Denver. I don't know what the answer is, but obviously something is wrong.
  3. And he played with Elijah Moore in New York, so maybe that will jump start Moore's season for the final month? Maybe? Possibly? Hopefully?
  4. All kidding aside, it's no secret our team has to generate explosive ass plays down the field. It's another reason that Njoku drop was so painful...it was probably a minimum of 30, maybe much more. We're really struggling to push the ball anywhere deep and I get it, how many teams air it out with the 3rd stringer, but we've got to block them up, fake a few shots, and score some points if we're going to win. Let's do it.
  5. They didn't post the other part of the quote, though. "Watching him try to run is like rooting for the one-armed man in a clapping contest."
  6. I dunno know, man. Every single team in history has injuries, but we're seriously banged up at the most important positions in the sport. I can't expect many teams to win 3 more games with the literal 4th string QB. It just is what it is. We're going to need herculean efforts by the defense to have a chance. However, it can totally happen!
  7. He gets an unfair rap, I totally agree with that, but just when he was about to quash the "dropsies" reputation, they came back with a flair. And not just drops, but DROPS. That red zone 3rd down a couple weeks ago, the touchdown last week (defender made a terrific play, but still), and the one over the middle that would've gone for 30-40 yards...hurt badly. Njoku is a tough mother and I've grown to like him, but he does need to step up now, more than ever, if we're going to make the playoffs with our 53rd string QB. I believe David comes back in a huge way Sunday.
  8. Our margins are so thin, we just can't afford mistakes, and David has so many drops. That 3rd down in the red zone a few weeks ago was just brutal, and the one today over the middle would've been a 35-40 yard gain, if not more with a block or two. Our team is near the bottom, if not THE bottom in YAC. It's so painful.
  9. It's kind of a bummer DTR got hurt. I didn't think he was the real reason behind our struggles today. He wasn't GREAT, but I thought he was progressing. Get Ready Joe, you won't have long to throw and you can't move.
  10. In pretty much our best year ever. Feels a bit deflating, but we'll be feeling better next week. We got this.
  11. I think I've seen enough. We battled, boys. That missed td before the half, the dropped 2 point conversion, the David drop, and the inexplicable reverse turnover really hurt us. To be fair, not many teams can win consistently with a backup QB, let alone 3rd stringer. Too many mistakes, but we'll learn and get better. Probably Kevin's worst game of the year, but he'll follow it with one if his bests. Always does. We'll be ok! Go Browns!
  12. It honestly feels like there's some teenager playing Madden calling the plays. I can't even believe there's a man making millions of dollars making these decisions.
  13. Njoku absolutely killing us lately. Dropped td last week, another one today, and probably a 40 yard gain on that last one. He had NOBODY in front of him. Hand the ball off with Walker, DTR will be back. Go win.
  14. Exactly what I said. This is a game our offense needs to win. We need two long scoring drives, with at least one touchdown. And honestly, with the way we're moving the ball, it's possible. I think Kevin has a good feel for this game, as does Sean Payton.
  15. Yeah right. We could run through these holes. They aren't even getting to 3rd downs.
  16. Why are we making this shit so difficult?! Kareem Hunt inexplicably turns inside instead of running outside for the easiest TD of his life, Njoku drops a TD, we get it on 4th but Cooper drops the 2 point conversion? Not only that, but the throw was garbagey and Njoku was open right in front of his face. Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad we scored, but Jesus. 🤣🤣
  17. Announcers are clowning us for not running it. Yeesh. Is it just me, or does Ford have iffy vision at times? Maybe I'm spoiled by Chubb. Edit: Ford displays excellent vision on that run. 😭
  18. JOK starting to make huge plays. Newsome hard to watch. Need him to tackle a bit better.
  19. Have to live with the good and bad with DTR. That 3rd down was an excellent example of youth and poor decision making. Obviously one of our guys ran the wrong route, but Cooper was open in the slot and it's probably a TD, or 4th and goal from inches away. Instead, DTR throws the lowest percentage pass in the NFL's red zone. Just a terrible read, but he'll learn. Now, Stefanski could've told him where to go, we don't know that, but I doubt it. I thought we could have tried to run it on 2nd or qb draw it with 2 TOs. DTR has done some decent things, and really it's his defense that let him down so far. But you can't win every game 13-10. There will be times you need to score 24+. I told my buddy we'd win if we scored over 27. I really felt our defense would get burnt against Russ. I'm still really disappointed in our execution on both sides of the ball. The penalties, dropping snaps, dropping the ball, and whatever else aren't going to win road games. We're extremely susceptible to read-option runs, and that won't stop until our DEs maintain their responsibilities. Can we win? Of course, but it's got a bad vibe to it. We forced a miracle fumble on one drive and also got a miracle offensive PI or else we're in deep kimche. I think we win if we get a special teams or defensive touchdown. It's going to take something like that to get us over the hump. On the plus side, DTR looks fine. Not perfect, but definitely not an abomination. Scoring in the red zone is always the final learning curve for young QBs. Hopefully he grows up fast because FG's will not win it today.
