  1. Tonight had my brother & his wife come in from Colo. and my daughter & family over for dinner. I served them pork tenderloin I bake in a blackberry rum sauce of my own making and served it up with a 2011 Deaver Vineyards Petite Sirah that you can only get either by shipping or as I did, by visiting them in Amador County California. Larry you would love that one. http://www.deavervineyards.com/Shop/Red-Wine
  2. I agree. I thought going after Clinton for his "side projects" was ridiculous and that many a president has had them without affecting their job. Going after Trump for his little side trips are between his wife and himself and is no one else's business. End of story. Now his affair with Putin is a different story altogether.
  3. And a little child (freshman) shall lead them.
  4. What you didn't like my Aggies blowing out #2 seed North Carolina in Charlotte? They were en fuego as they say in Spain.
  5. It was tied at halftime. Virginia just went to sleep and mailed it in. Just got derailed by the postman that's all.
  6. Economic advisor Gary Cohn resigns. Trump prepares for another excuse making interview.
  7. Make sure you see the Grand Tetons while there just to the south of Yellowstone. And Cody has a complex of museums in one location full of western art, plains indian life, western firearms, etc. Well worth spending a day there for an outdoorsman like yourself cal.
  8. I think they should combine the alpine cross country ski shooters with the snowboard jumpers and see if the shooters can put a hole through a target on the snowboard as these guys are upside down. Make for a more exciting winter and a true test of combined team skills.
  9. Since the completion of Toll road 130 from Georgetown to I-10 just E of SA, it is a straight shot and legal 80-85 mph trip of about 1 hour into the heart of SA. This is a great place to live and since the inception of Sun City there are multiple independent living, nursing home care and memory care units now in existence all within minutes of Sun City. Plus experienced health care providers used to dealing with geriatric medicine/care. As we get older we have the assurance that there are plenty of experts here for the elderly. I turn 71 next month and all my grandparents lived from ages 86-98, so that is reassuring to know I have experienced professionals nearby as I approach 100. It's now a major factor for remaining right here for us or moving here when you retire Gip. You are also invited to the same beer and sausage if you are down visiting your daughter like Mike does. Be happy to show you around particularly if you are looking for a home.
  10. Just N of Austin in the country near Sun City. All those old bastards try to assassinate you on the roads and in the grocery aisles with their cars and their motorized scooters respectively.
  11. Next time you make it down Texas way I'll have to have you over for Elgin Sausage on the grill Mike. You can eat it like a hot dog or you can serve it solo with sides. Either way it's good sausage from Elgin, Texas. Served with a Shiner Bock from Shiner, Texas and you're set to go back to Ohio with a smile. Nothin' better. All you have to do is take the straight shot up Tollway 130 about an hour from SA at 85-80 MPH (legal limits for that road with minimal traffic). Worth the tolls that they bill by license plate or windshield tag if your daughter has one. Be happy to entertain you and your family if they want to come along. Bill
  12. I'll bet she uses the Carolina Reaper, judged in 2013 by Guinness World Records as the hottest chili pepper in the world. Run Gip! It's an assassination attempt.
  13. Interesting. My wife never reads this board but guess what's in the crock pot? Chili!. I used the leanest hamburger meat I could find and filled it full of chopped up green & red Bell peppers, onion, pinto beans, diced tomatoes & sauce and appropriate spices. Now I just have to limit my intake the next few days.
  14. Totally agree Mike. We went to the docks in Maine for fresh lobster dinners when we visited wife's Mass. sister 2-3 years ago. Buy fresh shrimp off the boats in Corpus on occasion too. Order fresh blackened redfish or baked flounder when I find it just came in here occasionally with a local restaurant. Just iced down and not frozen. EDIT: Our local grocer gets in fresh fish too. I make a couple of really great bourbon or rum sauces with either blackberry, black cherry or apricot preserves as the mixer. Bake until the fish is flaky done and yummy. Now I can eat that on my diet.
  15. Reminds me of the "clam" chowder my wife and I got at a restaurant in Cheyenne once. They said it was the specialty of the house and people came from miles around to get it. They were right about one thing, you could not use "clams" to describe it, only clam because that was the count in each of our bowls. We had to explain to them that my wife was raised on the water in R.I. and knew what real N.E. clam chowder was supposed to be and that wasn't it. Now living here in Texas I can see that your spaghetti up there in no way resembles chili. LOL!
  16. One of these years I may actually make the 1/2 hour little trek down to see World class Formula One racing at the US Grand Prix Circuit of the Americas track in Austin , the only pure racing out there IMO.
  17. You mean Naszzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......................................................car?
  18. I have to finish off a bottle of Cabernet before it turns into Cab vinegar. Staying home to watch with my football coach son. I always enjoy his ongoing details commentary, especially on the defensive side. He knows his defenses better than anyone here including me. He catches the small things that players do to either set them up for a great play or to turn them into a pumpkin later in the game. Especially great at catching DBs looking in the backfield or trying to jump a route that will later burn them with a double move.
  19. He better do something because he is about to meet this...................................
  20. I'm trying to get them to pay me off to shut up about their Trump involvement. I'm real cheap. A paid for condo on Barbados would do. Plus a rest of the lifetime supply of any Caribbean rum I care to imbibe.
  21. Russia loves any divisive stories such as the Nunes Memo. http://www.businessinsider.com/release-the-memo-campaign-russia-linked-twitter-accounts-2018-1?amp%3Butm_medium=referral
