^^^ still have all 4.. some tattered, but they ain't going anywhere but on my part-time mowing service jobs.. and they still tip me;)

    I'd love one, Gum...

Will complement my "London Broil" tee from a few years ago... Few? Only was a 2017, but feels a lot longer ago...

Well there is where you are wrong. Obviously he is not as good as he thinks he is and no one wants to pay him to come prove differently.

You are talking about Baker here?

    Just checking... ;)

Hard to imagine two more disperate routes to the QB dust bin.

Only common thread, I see... under 6' tall.

does baker lose out on any money if he doesnt show up for mandatory mini camp ?  also if he is on the roster do you really think he would play a snap in the pre season ?

Sure... It's called showcasing. ;) We can only hope...

Thinking there are two mini's... one mandatory one not.

Dawson Deaton, who is one of three children, grew up in Frisco and attended Frisco High, where he was a four-year letterman. After seeing time at offensive tackle as a freshman, he moved to a tight end role in 2014 as a sophomore.

Interesting position rotation... could be our blocking TE early, then see if grows into RT role.

All they had to do was draft the terrific qb from Liberty College if they

Terrific? TBD, cal... No one thinks he's ready now and competition level is a serious question in my mind.

We know what DW can do on a pro field.

Making Watson the highest paid QB was an all in approach by the FO.

I certainly hope they’re right, but if Berry is wrong he just set us back a few years and needs to be shitcanned.

    Rinse wash and repeat much?

Or we can accept the error and let Berry learn in his job and maybe grow in it.

On balance I think Berry has done well. DW? Controversial, iffy, move, but we are never going anywhere without a franchise QB. And as another replied above, who else was out there that we could tab?

  6. So who improved? Did nothing? Declined?

Consider trades as well as picks.

I see the Ravens as winning this draft. Big WR upgrade.. TEs... and of course a couple Defenders with stud potential at every level.

Steelers.... although I think the Pickett selection is a natural for them and thought that was where they'd go, it feels old now. As if trying to go Big Ben 2.0 when they been trying to get more dynamic for a couple years now. I see it as a wash... treading water... All the moreso with Tomlin ging on all week about wanting a mobile QB... Pickett is not statue, but....

Bengals.... not sure here.... Loaded up on DBs an area of need to be sure, but could simply be a bunch of back ups.

kicker- my concern there is both Siebert & Zane Gonzalez were drafted, and couldn't handle it.

No sure things, but the LSU kid is low risk. Also pretty sure neither you mentioned kicked in Nat Champ game...

Just speaking for myself, I would always keep 3 QBs on the active roster.  The position is important enough.  I also feel that there is much to be gained by those guys by being on the sidelines, at the coaches hip.

I don't know what the plan is.  I have read we may have interest in Perry.  Maybe the plan is to draft or sign him as a UDFA and let Dobbs and Brissett battle it out for the back-up position and cutting the loser.  Again, just me but I think I would rather have Dobbs though the preseason will tell that tale.  In the end, with a question mark over the Watson status we will probably keep both of Brissett and Dobbs on the active and any QB brought in will be the practice guy.

Maybe not for this year, but I liked the Patriots strategy of drafting a QB fairly high, then using them for trade bait 2-3 years later.  At worst you gain value in the way of a pick.  At best you really do get a QB you can go with.

I want to say the Dobbs signing just confirmed my suspicion of turning to the RPO. Not that the talent falloff is minor, but now our QB room looks like it could merge with the RBs.

Agree on QB (you are always looking for your next one it's just aa, it's just a matter of how hard and price willing to pay.)and I think UC's Ridder fills the bill there. Dobbs comes with the waft of Camp fodder attached.

Now question is who to tab late as scatback possession WR? There's a Mountain West kid (Montana maybe?) who had some early buzz, but I forget his name.

  11. Never really did get up to speed this go-'round, but.... FWIW...

Still lusting after my penetrating DT... but top dog is a faded thought at this point. There are however a couple R2/3 prospects that have gotten late attention (UConn kid). Pressure up the middle over adding another complementary Edge for me. And in the allegedly deepest Edge draft in memory, we can a add a part timer Day 3

I still like the UC QB and have a growing interest in tOSU's TE.... good, balanced TE..... block and catch.

Keenum was too expensive. And Brissett is probably a better option too.

Yup and given the apparent, to me, direction we are shifting our O, to his potential fit is better.

Will he work out? IFFY to be sure as a starter, but are there any SB MVP level QBs on the market? Evan were there there's always that cap thang. With Adams now gone Aarons' remaining interest in staying in GB has to have been obliterated. Of course, he shat in his own punchbowl in 2021 so no telling what interest lies in him.

Problem I see is we seem to have fallen into a one player away approach and I do not get that. I see seasons of shoring up before that point is reached. And the draft capital we've spent only increased the difficulty.

As for Baker... Could be a draft Day, trade piece, but feels like we are rapidly approaching the time to simply hold him for the early-season starter injury(ies) desperation teams. If he looks good in preseason, maybe some interest rises. Of course by then, half this Board will be a fan again.
