My older brother was too cool for WIXY though - choosing of course WMMS FM

That came later... in the 70s. Either MMS or NCR whjichever one employed Billy Bass at the time. Fantastic DJ with great ear for new artists... Responsible for Bowie debuting his Ziggy tour in the land... and I was there. :D

Anyone remember the call letters of the Detroit Motown station with the 100k tower across the border in Windsor? Can't quite ring it up... and it is pissin' me off...

  2. OK bye with more thoughts later on his nine is a little low for Jeff Beck anyways is it to see who’s about him on the list tens about ride for George I mean I was like Georgia’s Clean Oregon Beatles recorded when he gets a little Siri call the solo as much as I guitar feel better because it was so short most of the time but he was there the talent really when I came to guitars in the Beatles song kind of fell to him.
George’s clean Oregon Beatles what the fuck that’s gonna be a Lunoe Lulo in transcription wanderings.

It was the era of three-channel black and white TV and AM radio dominating the airwaves. It was kids with little transistor radios under their pillows at night. We’d listen to games or perhaps rock and roll on old “WIXY, 1260, SUPER RADIO!” It was radio stations blasting away with the likes of Larry “The Duke” Morrow while teenagers ate burgers and fries at places like the Red Barn and Bearden’s.

man that was me ... Terry Pluto is a treasure as well

Beardens was freaking awesome but do you remember who Jean Bearden was Cleveland Indians relief pitcher back in the trash 60s I suppose it would be a baby he bounced around the league a lot but yeah I remember Beardens drive-in and classic diner served one of the first double meat burgers I can remember ever having and I was good stuff is really yeah give me good burgers good fries get shakes your three predominant food groups.

but what really brought me to this thread was the mention of Lexi 1260 I have a compilation album they put out with wishy 1260 super oldies including the theme that they played all the time about super oldies I’m sure there’s audio somewhere well I have it I can post it on YouTube eventually I’m still working on getting a couple turntables up and running at this point to turntables and a microphone.

this is the kind of stuff that really makes me smile smile and be right now with maybe just a hint of do in the corner of one or the other kind of the left die at this point.

two other inputs the red barn sucked ass once got halfway through one of their hotdogs threw the other half in the trashcan right by the entrance and then proceeded to reproduce the half that I had eaten right on top of the half I just thrown away it was around seven I think that’s a quality control that’s up to the customers.
as for Wixie DJs I remember a little bit alert about Larry Morrow but the obvious when was the morning drive time guy that I’ve ate breakfast 24 years Mike Renaldi I believe his name and he was good just wish he was our local low powered a.m. station and then there was a monster coming out of Detroit to the Motown played all the Motown and stuff have a broadcast antenna across the border in Canada where they could do something fun wattage more it was like 100,000 white tower which I think the states are limited to like 50 at the time and I think Wixie had about 1200 maybe yeah what a little Podunk radio station will they play the music play the music.

  4. How the hell homes who are you listening to thread all these years.

I freaking love home audio I am a old-school audio guy and collector I’ve got some interesting stuff. And then the current room that I have my two channel rig set up is the best room I have ever set up and it’s irregular it’s from not square it’s got humps and bumps and angles and high ceilings and my stereo sounds freaking awesome and it’s still not it’s still on the initial set up I haven’t started fine-tuning.

what’s been blowing me away the last couple days is the twenty one pilots I will be there first the first release the one with blurry face and the base is so amazing by the way the twenty one pilots drummer is a guy name Josh and he’s my new favorite drummer he’s he’s he’s fast he’s precise he’s strong he’s inventive I’ve never seen a drummer hit a high hat or trap on an upstroke this guy does this guy does. He’s got a really interesting video on YouTube about him getting in the drumming going into the music stores I’m playing on mostly since rooms obviously but on headphones and not letting anyone in the store hear him. Until one day he sat at the kit and achieved for limb independence for the first time that’s what he broadcast of the store and can you stop the store.
The other one I’m listening to right now is a machine gun Kelly’s I’ll say new one I don’t know how many he has out. And on order Belinda Carlisle caught her last night on that old SNL horror weeks old and SL that my wife and I decided to catch up on I believe it was one of the recent one with Jason Sudeikis hosting. And on order Belinda Carlisle caught her last night on that old SNL horror weeks old and SL that my wife and I decided to catch up on I believe it was one of the recent one with Jason Sudeikis hosting.

received a couple other new things in the mail just recently, including a busy Lenhart Buzzy Linhart. I’dbe surprised if too Manny this side of Westside Steve know that name.

Also arriving soon I name some will probably know but probably not too many given the crowds lack of appreciation of hip-hop or rap. I was able to land a copy of the DOC‘s only release if I recall correctly.

Hmmm... I suppose a legit question is- if Jackson couldn't run like Kareem Hunt (LJ is the same weight, but 3" taller)  just how good a QB would he be?

I'll let Tia correct me on the details- but the way the outmanned Dolphins beat him was to use a six man front, take away his outside running lanes, (and in the process collapse the pocket) and use a cover zero defensive backfield. Lamar couldn't figure out who was dropping into coverage.  For sure, Jackson is a supreme athlete- but listening to him talk.

Legit question, h… even if the last bit strays close to OB. UL ain’t Ivy League🙈🐒

If the 32 NFL GMs were lined up and asked, who do you want, Lamar Jackson or Baker Mayfield, how do you think the vote goes?

And Lamar definitely has limitations too, as shown in the playoffs.

LJ by a landslide... The threat of his legs is so great that his arm/ Head limitations in the passing game matter not. And it is now clear that he brings all the intangibles Baker does... e.g., leadership.

Limits? Yes... but he is still learning at the Pro level and so those limits might ease with time. He has the tools, just needs the refinement. Easier said than realized... hell to the yeah... but so long as he runs smartly and avoids major injury... he has a chance.

If he does not, then he could go the way of Mahomes, from whom some of the luster has faded.

Of course, it's everyone's fault except Baker. Classic Baker apologist take. It didn't take long for a Baker apologist to start throwing out the excuses. There's no excuse for a team to score 10 points with the talent we have. A real QB finds ways to get it done, he overcomes obstacles. Baker is mediocre, that's it.

Did a sewer get rerouted intto our Forum?

Where are these Football metal dwarfs all coming  from? Our pits of hell Section 8 section?

Bernie would blush if he saw his name close to your drivel...

And be careful with your reply or I will go speech to text on yo ass...

And just add some of this on rice with fried dog or snake bits and now were talking a real Phan Thiet, South Vietnam kind of meal!!  And yep, now that I found fish sauce from Phan Thiet where I spent my year, I ordered two bottles from Amazon. Smells really bad but tastes really great soaked into rice with baked flounder or redfish as the main course.

So anchovy wine? That hurts the head... Hard pass here.

Had an anchovy once. Let a H.S. Friend and teammate talk me into adding them to our pizza at Cici"s in Parma. First bite the whole thing was dragged into my mouth... tI could not drink enough water fast enough to overcome the salty onslaught of my mouth. Nasty lil boogers... Gimme a good sardine or kipper snack or herring, but hold the anchovies...

My apprehension became a lot less after Ward's 99 yard pick six.

You and me and 1000's of other Browns devotees... Their opening drive looked  ridiculously easy up to the point where "Hospital Ward" fired up his ambulance.

The rubber band D is alive and well in "the Land"? Hoping so... giving Offenses you face chances to Eff up will drive you crazy, until it works. And it is the coming thing vs. the RPO/ ZBS combos. It's really about all the announcers talked about in the KC game the other nite... even the great Mahomes is not immune to the approach. An approach Cinci wold have been glad to force us into, but could not due to Baker bombing away,

    first

So let’s just assume it’s an acronym and figure out what it stands for.

    this could be fun.

I understand your concerns.  Here's my take. Wills is back and Hance is a better RT than Hudson at replacing Conklin for starters.  That's an improvement over watching Hance at LT and Hudson at RT.

Keep in mind, a 17 game season isn't a quick sprint.  It's a marathon.  Didn't our 11-5 season include a loss to the Jets?  And didn't Cincy lose to the Jets after Rathousing Baltimore?

Did you watch the video I shared above?   It works if you read my directions below it.  Baker wasn't throwing to Jarvis or OBJ - he threw to Higgins and a very inexperienced DPJ for the game winning drive (w/no timeouts) punctuated by a TD.   That drive began with 66 seconds on the clock w/a 3 point deficit and ended with 11 seconds remaining and a 4 point lead. Both Cincy games were fun to watch last year.

FWIW, Baker sporting the injury you speak of - threw a Hail Mary Pass from his own 37 into the end zone to DPJ recently.

If we're healthy enough to handle the edge in pass pro today, I'm not worried about who we will use as our deep threat.

We accomplished a lot of our 11-5 regular season plus a 48-37 playoff W without any superstars on the perimeter.  Landry played on a bad hip and OBJ was hit or miss until he got injured. The rest of the guys stepped up to the challenge and treated us to Make-It-Happensville.

Moving forward, let's see what this team is made of...

    Actual analysis what a concept.

    Hahahahaha...isn't it the truth?

We were all so much better off as Browns' fans with the successes of such offensive revolutionaries as Freddie Kitchens, Hue Jackson, Rob Chudzinski, Pat Shurmur and Chris Palmer...

Success? Success? You can’t handle success!

Well maybe you can AP1, but some here clearly cannot. I mean a draw play on third and 10? Where was the line of scrimmage?

We just played the fucking game of our season and people are having difficulty handling that? Now do we have to follow up this coming Sunday? Absolutely!

but let’s at least wait until then and see what we put on the field.

I don't know why this was considered a hot take.

I mean, the numbers are solidly behind you.

Work gets more credit than hotcakes. Or hot takes.
