  1. Yeah, but still the overall rate of translating "worked under Bill" to "successful HC" isn't great. Not Belichick's fault that people assume there is some kind of magical transference of talent and winning to his fomer assistants, though. It's too early to judge... Judge, but if he can turn around the Giants to even an 8-10 win-per-year team over his first couple of years count that as a big success.
  2. This summary (last updated January 2020) gives us perspective on that... Two bright spots are Mike Vrabel in Tennessee and maybe Kliff Kingsbury who is trying to help Arizona turn a corner. We can also add a new Belichick alum to the overall list, Joe Judge, who is currently 3-7 in his first year with the New York Giants. Technically the Giants are still in the playoff hunt with a chance to win the NFC East.
  3. Yeah the Lions aren't the Browns or even in the same conference but as only other old school team who has won NFL championships but never even made it to one in the Superbowl era, their fans have suffered as well. But they are finally free of a coach who drove some of the best players from a winning team and was such a jerk that former Lions are publicly cheering his departure. The race to see whether Cleveland or Detroit will make it to a Superbowl first is back on.
  4. I mean, what could go wrong versus a 1-9 opponent? This of course could be a trap game, with a low win team trying to prove something (even if it's so players can get better trades/free agency deals), but that's the kind of game good teams can win. The Browns want to be a good team, so, get it done.
  5. even if they split the rest of the schedule, that's 10-6 that would have been miraculous a few years ago
  6. so on the remote chance Cleveland bombs today, whose head will we be calling for?
  7. well... that's some wind and some clumsy and why touch it anyway...
  8. yeah power flickered and went out for several minutes but it seems to have passed...
  9. Penaly - #000, Weather. 30 minute delay. Remains no down.
  10. So is this a known jinx or are all of that paper's writers terrible at calling games?
  11. The poll is over, with the votes showing up falling between 8 and 12 wins for the season. The second half of the season is about to get underway. Time to see what the 2020-21 Browns can do.
  12. So the actual final tally of 19-46 was worse than the projection at the start of the year The last couple have been similar to the first two of the franchise... 2019-20 Cleveland Cavaliers 19-46 0.292 W/L% 2018-19 Cleveland Cavaliers 19-63 0.232 W/L% 1971-72 Cleveland Cavaliers 23-59 0.280 W/L% 1970-71 Cleveland Cavaliers 15-67 0.183 W/L% I can't help wondering if they will get to 0.500 and higher in the next couple of years or will go into a long slump like the Browns did for so long
  13. Did this poll in 2015, 2017, 2018m and 2019 (missed in 2016), and it always been "four games in". It's usually an early gauge as it's hard to effectively judge a team only 4 games into a season because there is so much time left for change (for better or worse). This year hasn't been typical in many ways (no preseason, etc.), and when I realized I missed the quarter mark of the season I put this off. Now, at the midway point with a bye week coming up, it's a good time to add it back. Where do you think the season is headed compared to when the team was 3-1 or 4-1. What does it look like from here?
  14. wasn't even that close, but you get the upset bonus points nonetheless
  15. Huh, that stat is no bueno. It's like there are some really great parts to the Browns but too much still missing or busted to run well
  16. True. Also, Pittsburgh fans may see it as a divisional rivalry but in my experience not really one to get too excited over. There are lots of ideas of rivalry going around here, but it seems to me Browns fans think about Pittsburgh and being a big rival to that city/team a lot more than the reverse.
  17. No it was canceled. Schedule is here: https://olympics.nbcsports.com/2020/10/21/figure-skating-tv-stream-schedule/ But the Bengals are beating... the Titans?
  18. Well, still 8 minutes in the Pgh Blt game in a close on... but no win in Cleveland today
  19. Raiders13 Browns 6 Think it'll go down to the wire again this week?
  20. Cincy scores with a minute left after a 4th and 1 and the 3 yard line... Well, 2-minute drill time
  21. Bengals get the lead going into halftime... what are the main adjustments you want to see for the second half? Browns Bengals B
