.........  Not everybody can do this kind of thing.  That's why a change of direction kind of guy would fit nicely somewhere on our perimeter........

..... Back when we had Eric Metcalf, we were the ONLY team had no clue how good this guy would be lining up on the perimeter in space.  For his next 2-3 teams, he excelled as Wide Receiver/Flanker/Slot and everything that didn't ask him to be Eric up the middle any more.  Brian Brennan wasn't bad at change of direction either on that 86 team with 12 wins.

I agree, it might bring back a whole new and exciting brand of  Cleveland BROWNS  back on the field.  With Joe Flacco's type of football gone they must still keep getting better in 2024.

★  I've always preferred the FOX pregame show. They keep it light.

Plus, I just can't stand Bill Cowher. Of course, if idiot Modell would have picked him over BB id be singing a different tune🤣

★  I agree with you there Bob,   I go straight to  FOX  for all pregame news and information.

I'm not surprised in the Eaison or Simms not being picked up after their contracts had expired.

  4. Esiason  and  Simms out,  Ryan in.

The contracts for both Esiason and Simms had expired, while Burleson and Cowher are presumably being renewed.

Ryan joined CBS during the 2023-24 NFL after being released by the Indianapolis Colts. The 15-year veteran (who played 14 seasons for the Atlanta Falcons) was open to continue his playing career as he called game broadcasts with Andrew Catalon and Tiki Barber, but no team showed interest.

Last week, Ryan officially announced his retirement. Knowing that he was ready to be a full-time broadcaster likely compelled CBS to add him to "The NFL Today." With him, Burleson and Watt, the pregame show now has a younger look with analysts who also engage fans and viewers on social media.

  5. CBS to do some shake-ups for next season.   From  Yahoo Sports.

Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms will exit CBS’ long-running “The NFL Today” studio show as part of a revamp that brings former star quarterback Matt Ryan into the program’s line-up.

When viewers next tune in to the show as the NFL season kicks off this fall, they will see Ryan, known mostly for his time with the Atlanta Falcolns, paired with James Brown, Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher and JJ Watt. The programming maneuvers have long been expected, but they are the first at CBS Sports under David Berson, who recently took the reins of the Paramount Global unit

    ●~~~~~~~~~~●

CBS had been rumored to look at shaking up its "The NFL Today" pregame show. Now, the network is following through on making some changes.

Boomer Esiason and Phil Simms won't return to the show, reports The Athletic's Andrew Marchand. Another former NFL quarterback, Matt Ryan, will join the pregame panel of analysts Bill Cowher, Nate Burleson and J.J. Watt (on a part-time basis) with host James Brown.

Esiason, the former Cincinnati Bengals and New York Jets quarterback, had been on "The NFL Today" for 22 years. He announced on his WFAN radio morning show on Monday that he wouldn't be back.

"I am stepping away from 'The NFL Today' on CBS," Esiason said, while also announcing that he signed an extension with WFAN. "More their decision than maybe mine, but I really thought the Super Bowl was my swan song and I thought the way CBS handled especially us guys out there in Las Vegas, it was amazing."

  7. SATURDAY EVENING,  APRIL 27,  2024,   LAST DRAFT DAY.

MY WIFE  MADE US A DELICIOUS   ~ SEAFOOD PASTA SALAD  w/lobster ~  for supper tonight.   Actually it was   leftovers  from last night but still  dee- licious !

    ( ▪︎ Details to follow tomorrow folks. )    :D

▪︎. We like the Italian style of pasta like shown below or elbow macaroni to help hold the sauce in.

▪︎  We also like the layered cheese in the dish  - plus -  the shredded parmesaen cheese on top of the dish melted on top.

▪︎  Along with other  small tweaks to the recipe to make it oh so delicious.  I like crab but will take shrip or lobster which is what we had this past weekend.... or what ever is ON SALE !

▪︎. And peas do add to the taste.   Boiled eggs on the side or sliced in it can be good.     :)

CINCINNATI — Former Cincinnati Bearcats defensive tackle Jowon Briggs is headed to Celveland to start his NFL career. He was the lone Bearcat to get taken, landing at Pick 243

Briggs posted 27 tackles (6 TFL) and two sacks this past season after being an integral part of the Bearcats success this decade. He keeps the Bearcats draft streak rolling to nine consecutive years with a player drafted.

In one season at Louisville, Thrash had 63 receptions for 858 yards and six touchdowns. Prior to his season at Louisville, Thrash went to Georgia Southern. Thrash ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds.

    Height: 6-2. Weight: 244.
    40 Time: 4.63.
    Projected Round (2024): 4-6.

4/23/24: In 2023, Watson was a tackling machine for the Bulldogs, recording 137 stops. He made a lot of splash plays as well, notching 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception and two passes defended. Watson played well in 2022 too, totaling 113 tackles, six sacks and an interception. He is an intriguing linebacker with run-defense and pass-rush potential. Watson had a solid week at the Senior Bowl.

What do you think are his chances to makke the team ?   Or is that strictly summer camp stuff.
