    Totally sucks.

Well, he's a free agent after this season. One of the wealthy teams will sign him.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

He will have missed a ton of games with injuries in '21 and '23, and now will miss virtually all of 2024.

And according to Terry Pluto, he's probably going to have a 12-18 month rehab after surgery, which means he'll probably miss most to all of 2025.

This was the chance he took when he declined to sign multiple contract extensions the Guardians offered him. For the Gs, thank dog he did.

There's a big chunk of land available in northern Summit County near Richfield. But I believe that's been tried before.

Honestly, I think that spot would work better for the Browns than the Cavs because you are only going 8 or 9 times a year.

Then again, how was getting in/out of the Coliseum? There would be three times as many people going to Browns games.

I didn't realize anyone would ever miss the 1-15 football followed by 0-16 football we had to endure a couple years or so before Stefanski arrived.  I was wrong...

This might come to a shock to some, but nickers is a miserable twat.

I'm sorry to ruffle any feathers by dropping that bomb.

  4. Baseball at the Oakland Coliseum will cease to exist after the A's final home game in September, as the team has announced they will play (at least) the next three seasons at the AAA home of the San Francisco Giants in Sacramento, before moving to Las Vegas.

Not sure how, but the A's are building a dome in Vegas on a nine acre plot of land. The Tropicana Casino is being, or will be torn down shortly on the land.

The Guardians last games in Oakland was the opening series of the season.

I'm glad they extended Stefanski & Berry. It's not perfect but the facts are the Browns have been more stable and competitive during their reign. 2024 poses some challenges with a more difficult schedule (on paper, a 2nd place schedule).

Regarding Chubb, he's the heart & soul of the team. I don't envy Berry's position- you've got to get a deal done but there's the fear of the unknown. Chubb seems "ego-less" but needs compensation.

The draft will be interesting. I want LBs but maybe the smart thing is to draft O linemen, as they aren't getting any younger.

They definitely need to get some younger OLinemen in house.

Besides Jones, what OLineman would anyone be confident is going to be here two years?

Just a thought...with the new kick off rules, I wonder if we keep both kickers?  York for kickoffs and Hopkins for place kicks.  Maybe York for the bomb kicks.  That way Hopkins hammy only has to jog on to the field, make a kick, then jog off.

No doubt an out in left field thought, but not impossible IMO.  There have been a few seasons in the past where we had 2 kickers active on gamedays.  Groza and Cockroft...Cox and somebody else who I can't remember....maybe Bahr

Cox was the punter who occasionally attempted long field goals, not a situation where there were two placekickers on the roster at the same time.

Where does the ball come out if you kick it into the end zone?

    Anyone still remrmber  Jacob's Field 1994-  ?     :o

Here's a little trivia tidbit to amaze your friends...

The ballpark was actually going to be named something like Society FIeld, because the local bank headquartered in Cleveland was going to purchase the naming rights. They ended up getting bought out themselves, so then Indians owner Dick Jacobs decided to put his name on the ballpark.

And the Gs just finished winning the series in Seattle, winning 8-0.

What does "FY" stand for? I'm convinced it's "Fuck You". And 56, is that your age or your IQ?

He used to be Gorka, until the ridicule of taking another man's name got a little too much to bear.

You keep it up, and he'll be forced to change his handle again. 🤣

The only logical answer is to go dome in Brookpark.

There are sentimental reasons to stay downtown, but sentimental reason usually makes for poor business decisions.  There are multiple reasons why the move should be made over staying put and going with the band-aide approach.

A year or so ago when this whole stadium talk started, the Haslams came up with a report that mentioned:

    1. Cleveland Browns Stadium is a mediocre stadium that was built quickly and kind of poorly

    2. A stadium on the lake takes a pounding from Mother Nature, hence is a maintenance nightmare.

Regardless of the flip-flopping they have had on this topic, and at times seem fine with just renovating the existing stadium, I've never thought they really want this. In fact, I think it would be their absolute last resort.

I just can't see where the money is coming from to build a 2+ billion dollar dome.

I'd much rather see them stay downtown, but off the lakefront. I wonder how many acres the Wolstein Arena sits on... Cleveland State has been talking about bulldozing it and building a much smaller arena a few blocks north. Perhaps the Browns could look at putting a stadium there?

I thought of that property, but there are still ingress and egress issues.  It also doesn't have enough room to do some of the things Haslam wants.

He's talking about just south of Progressive Field, south of the highway, right?

I mean, if it works going north a block or so to see a Guardians game, why wouldn't it work going a block or so south to see a Browns game?

The have switched back to what the helmet was.

Literally all the Browns need to do is look at that photo and do everything they did, and add the brown jersey from that era.

I'll bend and allow the orange pants a handful times every season too.

  13. Ohio State's 2025 recruiting class has added four four-star commits this weekend. Two are teammates from the same high school in New Jersey in Safety DeShawn Stewart and WR De'Zie Jones, and a couple of Florida kids in LB T.J. Alford and DLineman London Merritt (originally from Atlanta area before transferring to the IMG Academy in Florida).

Of course, these are not official commits, early signing is in December for the '25 class. Things happen, but as it stands today Ohio State has 11 commits, eight of which are on defense. It is shaping up to be a potentially fantastic class.

  14. I can't stand white facemasks, always looks like cheap plastic to me.

Brown and orange is not a color scheme you can get "cute" with. The simpler the better.

White facemasks are an attempt to get cute. They went to the white facemasks in the 70s under Modell, so by proxy they suck monkey balls. Going back to the gloss look is fine IMO. Honestly, I never really noticed that they were matte.
